My laptop turns on as usual when plugged in and the battery gets charged as well. However it will not turn on when not plugged in, despite battery showing 80% earlier....
View 1 RepliesI bought my dell 3521 laptop on sep 2013 , I shut down the laptop last night now I couldn't turn on the only thing I get is power light on without blinking No fan no had to switch off I need to remove the battery no other way. I removed the battery and hold power button for 1 min to remove static power but nothing happens. Tried with new dell 65w AC adaptor but no luck only getting power light on.
Is that my battery is dead? Laptop will not turn on by only AC adaptor ? Coz even only with AC adaptor only power light on without blinking nothing else
My dell inspiron n5110 laptop is not turning off..but windows shutdown succesfully and power switch led and cpu fan is ON..for turning off,i need to force shut down..
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron 17 N7110 Keeps shutting itself down, recycling its system (I am sure I am using the wrong terminology). It will get to the dell logo screen and then go blank and restart itself. I spoke with someone at Techzilla who said that this has been happening to other people with this model. I removed the battery, tried hitting the F8, F11, F2 and F12 buttons. When I hit the F12 button the screen went to a black screen with a blinking curser in the upper right hand corner. This screen lasted about a second or two before it shuts down again and starts to recycle again. I was told that it's a software problem (that I downloaded a virus) but if others are having the same problem then I think it's a dell model issue not a software issue.

My laptop in under international warranty.one of my friend told me to unplug the battery and reconnect the same and problem will be resolved but there is two screw in the bottom plate and I confuse to unscrew. How could i fix this problem and if i unscrew and unplug the battery, my warranty will be effective in future?

No change in power LEDs color. I did little research on net and tries to remove static charge but it won't work. Now power light is not turning of untill I remove battery. When I holds power button for few secs power light turns off for 1 or 2 seconds and turns on after that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was surfing internet on my dell inspiron 5521 an battery level was around 72% it suddenly goes off. It was not a turn off or windows error. I feel it was something from inside hardware because it is not turning on by pushing on button and tried to charge him but charging light did not on but adapter light was on that means adapter is fine. I have removed the battery and puts it back but no power for laptop. There is not a error soon total no power.

Since it's an ultrabook, I haven't been able to remove flea power since the battery is embedded into the laptop.I wonder if it would be possible for a technician to come have a look at it ASAP?

It had absolutely no problem up till last night , i bought it only 3 day ago.last night Either put it on hibernate or sleep when it had about 30-40% battery.
Today at 10 i tried turning it on, it didn't work , nothing happened , i plugged the Charger and still no Difference , the battery lit or any other lit is not turning on either ... it look completely dead . i taken out the battery and tried turning it on with only AC but it didn't work either , it look like no power going to the laptop at all , if it wasn't because of the Lit near the tip the Charger that was on and working . i would day the AC is broken or something .....
I bought a dell inspiron 14z 5423 a two month ago, today morning I press the power button and nothing! no reaction no sound!
When the ac adapter on, no light on the dell. but on the adapter green light. Its ultrabook and i can not eject the battery.
I have dell inspiron n7010 and recently have problems with my power. When i press the power button, power lid only blink once and also after that the HDD lid blink once and thats it. No any other signs. I tried without battery only on charger, even changed my charger, but still the same. When i plug in the charger, power lid blink only once but nothing else.

For a couple of months, the laptop refuses to boot when turning it on. Screens stays completely black, never reaches the Dell-logo. The power-LED burns normally, CPU lights up for a few seconds, then dies out. I hear the fans starting and I think the hard disk starts as well.
The speakers start making an intermittent beeping sound, short beep every +- 3 seconds.
At this point, I have to interrupt the proces, and restart. Occasionally, the computer does start normally (around 10-30 times trying). In the beginning, this took only a few times trying, but it's getting worse.
When the computer comes back from sleep, it doesn't have any problems, only when it's (re)started, or coming from hibernation (deep sleep).
I need to send in homework by tomorrow and my computer won't turn on! It was working 2 days ago. When I turn it on it beeps 8 times and nothing comes up on the screen

The beeps continued even after Windows was running.. And now the computer doesn't turn on.. The fan and stuff turns on but nothing is displayed on the screen.. Also there are no beeps anymore!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem turning on my dell n5010 laptop with win7/ubuntu dual boot , I was doing some blogging using ubuntu and I went to have lunch and left it on but when I got back I found my laptop dead with the black screen and not turning on again with only the power led always on then the hdd led for a few seconds but not hearing any beeps and not seeing anything on the screen.
I have followed some solutions posted before but none of them worked.
1 - I tried to remove battery , ac and press power button to drain static electricity then trying to boot with ac adapter only but it didn't work.
2 - I tried the LCD test and tried an external monitor but neither works.
3 - I tried removing the memory modules , cleaning and reinserting but no change.
3 - I tried Dell Diagnositic but the only difference was that I heard 7 repetitive beeps when on the mode but not seeing anything on the screen .
I recently downloaded Windows 8 Pro and now the Ctrl F3 shortcut does not work for turning off the touchpad. I have a Inspiron 15R N5110. I need to turn it off while typing.

I have blinking light. When I am turning laptop on, POWER LED turn on and turn off after 4-5 sec, after this BATTERY LED turning on and off after 1 sec. When I am turning on laptop holding FN key, hapends the same but in meantime NUM LOCK, CAPS LOCK and SCR LOCK is turning on and off after 5 sec.
I can't find error codes for this laptop anywhere.
I tried to update bios in Inspiron N5110 but laptop freezed in the middle of update so I had to remove the battery to turn it off.

i am using dell inspiron 15R 5521.. its warranty has just expired on november 3,2014. And now i am facing this charging problem as whenever i connect my charging adapter(charger) to my laptop, it says 'PLUGGED IN BUT NOT CHARGING'. whether i just keep my laptop on charging for an hour or two, it still remains the same and not even a single percent of battery is charged.!! View 2 Replies View RelatedMine is an Inspiron 14z, running window 7 ultimate. The last 2 days, my battery will only charge up to 70% then it just stay there although the icon shows "plugged in, charging".
I've tried a couple things:
-Unplug-plug
-Pull out the battery put it back on.
-Uninstall/ Install Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery
-Restore to point before this occur.
My problem is that my daughters 1525 says it is plugged in but not charging. I have tried various Dell and Universal chargers with no change. I have also replaced the battery and the only noticeabl change is that with the new battery by blinking amber lights have stopped. I assume that means the battery was bad. But I still have the issue with it saying it is plugged in but not charging.

I've only had this laptop for about 2 months.
This morning i had a sudden blue screen of death. Following the restart, i got a message prompt along the lines of:
pxe-m0f exiting.... selecting proper boot device.
I changed the hard drive to boot first instead of the disk drive but nothing else happened.
I read that it was a hard drive problem when i searched the web. I took apart my laptop and cleaned all the dust off the insides and made sure they were clean. Put it back together and it was good as new. It turned on like normal. I was very much relieved, until I noticed the laptop wasn't charging. I've tried the flea reset, battery drain etc but I can't get the battery/laptop to charge. The laptop won't even charge on with the AC and no battery. My laptop has been fine for the last year or so and now 1 BSOD has ruined it.
My Inspiron M5010 keeps having an issue with accepting the power chord I have. I don't understand what is wrong. It is the same power chord the laptop came with, but every time I plug it in the message pops up stating it cannot charge using this power chord and I need to get a 65W or higher to charge it with.
This is the exact mesaage: "The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or higher for best system operation."
Sometimes it doesn't even acknowledge that its plugged in.
