I had a problem on my XPS m1330 where my monitor was displaying weird colored vertical lines. (see M1330 Display Issue (Vertical Lines on Reboot & Crash & Vertical Lines) for someone with similar problems) or http://imgur.com/v86ev for a picture of my screen.
Anyway, today a technician came by my house and replaced my screen. Thing is, I think he installed a regular LCD display, and mine was, according to my original order: 13.3 Inch Wide Screen WXGA TL WLED Backlit LCD with Camera, XPS M1330
We called Dell Support on the phone and they assured me that it was the same part. I disagreed and we alternated connecting both displays and I definitely saw a change. My old monitor had brighter colors and a better viewing angle. The technician said he didn't see much difference.
unfortunately I made a mistake in my order and I bought a T440s without backlight. if there is a possibility to let to T440s officially upgrade by Lenovo to a backlighted version? or can I only buy a backlighted Keyboard and I have to install it on myself?
I got a Dell Studio 1737 through the Dell Outlet, and after a little while the Num Lock light stopped working. The button still turns it on and off, and I've been debating calling and having to deal with them to get a replacement. Another option I've been thinking about is replacing it outright with the backlit keyboard.
My question is this. What will doing this outside of Dell do to the warranty? The Caps Lock light does still come on, so I'm thinking it's an issue with the light, and if I have to replace it, I might as well go with the better one.
does anyone know if you can change the colors of the keyboard light like you can on alienware laptops? ive been wondering this since ive only seen the backlit keyboard in white, and i was hoping to maybe switch the color to that of my lappy? i think that would be awsome to see on a studio.
I am trying to find out if there is a replacement lighted keyboard for a dell inspiron e1705 or a mod that i could do. I am not interested in the the usb lights that everyone seems to buy for there laptops I want it stationary.
I recently bought an M4400 from the Dell Outlet. Unfortunately, the one that had everything else I wanted didn't have the backlit keyboard.
From looking at the service manual, it looks like a keyboard swap is pretty easy, but I can't find anywhere (including Dell Parts) to buy the actual keyboard (whose part numbers appear to be either G077C or 330-0825, depending on where you look).
i have dell studio 17 nb1735 in the quickset it has the option for backlit keyboard and its all turned on but no backlit lights come on at all how do i know if i actually have this on my laptop or if it simply is not working?
Is it possible to get this upgrade in Canada? The sales reps I spoke to said no but I read on another thread that someone else managed to get it... is it just a matter of insisting?
Some of you might now as I posted in my other thread that I'm not sure the screen I received with my refurb'd E6400 is the WXGA+ LED backlit like it promised in the invoice.
The primary reason is is that there is a sticker on the bottom of my laptop that says "Made in Malaysia" and also "Hg" with a circle around it. This is mercury; contained in CCFL backlit screens .....
the backlit keyboard on an m6400. Is there a way to configure how long it stays on until it fades? Or even to just make it stay on 100% of the time when plugged in?
Of secondary importance would be a way to control the brightness, but mostly I want the keyboard to remain lit much longer than it does.
My employer had purchased me an Inspiron 1545 last month. I unfortunately had no choice in the model or options and I was hoping for a model with a backlit keyboard but did not receive one.
Now my question, is it possible to put the backlit keyboard from a studio in my inspiron?
Some of these may seem rudimentary, please bear with me..
1. What does the button to the left of the Power button do? Nothing happens when I press it.
2. How do I turn on the backlit keyboard?
3. I'm did a clean Windows 7 install. What drivers do I need for the mousepad scrolling-shortcuts to work? No "trackpad" drivers are listed on Dell's drivers page.
I just got my replacement SXPS16, the media keys (volume etc) all function but do not light up.
On my old laptop they lit up left to right then stayed on, that computer had bios A08, this one has A10 and im running windows 7, even on a bios boot they do not start ever
