i just cracked my screen and might replace it if its cheap enough. the back of the screen model is LP154WX7
and i am just wondering if i can just get any screen that was in a 1537 and fit it in or does it need to be the same model again.
Studio 1537 screen shattered...............................................
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was using my Studio 1537 when it suddenly shut down. I rebooted and the console media lights lit up and it sounded like it was restarting as normal but the screen remained black. I have tried a number of internet: restarting holding F12, restarting holding Fn+F8, removing battery and AC power & holding power key for 30 seconds - 1 minute and then restarting and also holding D while restarting to run screen diagnostics. I can see the coloured screens flash through but none of these ideas have restarted the monitor it remains black.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Studio 1537 for about a year and once in awhile my laptop screen goesblank after my computer restarts or if I turn my laptop on. This happened to be about 10 times (the first time I spent about 3 days on the phone with a technian) already and I always have to reinstall Windows Vista to get my laptop working again. Today I found out that whenever my computer updates my video drive my screen will go blank, is this normal? What I can do to prevent this from happening again? My screen also goes blank when I install a video driver from the dell CD, but when I uninstalled it in safe mode and restart my laptop my screen is no longer blank.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Dell Studio 1558 a few days back with a full hd screen. I tried changing the resolution to a lower one n it shifted down to a lower resolution but it din cover the entire screen! it had black bars on the side! any idea how i could
View 3 Replies View RelatedBut I'm encountering a big problem, my display is weird (there is some green filter added) in addition Windows 8 does not completely (it stop after the blue logo).
I can see something if I boot on my Ubuntu USB. Even the boot logo have the green filter.
On the others side if I come back to the original disciple screen, all is well. So, at a first sight I think it is not a connector problem or a graphics card problem.
It's a Dell Studio 1555 with a ATI Mobility Radeon 4500....
had a Dell 1735..screen resolution was perfect and webpages i visited looked nice and sharp etc...purchased a new Dell studio 1737 laptop and it seems that the default setting is 1920 x 1200..this makes everything very sharp but to small to work with...the correct setting for the correct size etc...seems to be 1440 x 900..but when i change the settings to this size everything is the correct size but not as sharp...and websites i visit such as Facebook etc..the text on these pages seems different..now, when I place my old Dell studio 1735 beside my new Dell studio 1737 my old laptop which is set at 1440 x 900..my old laptop looks far sharper and superior to my new laptop! My old 1735 has the highest setting for resolution at 1440 x 900 while the new 1737 seems to have a higher setting option of 1920 x 1200. Is there a big difference between the 1735 and 1737? Am I stuck with just keeping my setting on my new 1737 at 1440 x 900 and putting up with the blurriness etc? Have tried everything from going into Catalyst center to adjusting settings in appearance in vista etc..
View 10 Replies View RelatedI know that on the dell site it states that the studio only supports 4gb ram. But I know the chipset supports 8gb ram. I was wondering if any one has tried more than the 4gb.When I look at the report from everest, it states that the system supports 8gb.
View 10 Replies View Relatedis it normal for a the fan on a studio 1537 to ramp up every 5 minutes or so? It doesn't go to full speed but its cleary audible and a little annoying. When it happens when I'm just browsing the web etc so nothing is being taxed.
Its about a month old and I have had the fan replaced but didn't really make a difference. Is the controller part of the fan assembly? Is there something else I need to get replaced? or is this the case of the laptop jsut trying to keep optimal temperature?
I have a couple issues with the studio. I have the jumpy trackpad problem. Seems there is no solution.
And graphical coruption with the video card. It happens at random times to all windows and when playing games. Built in games, or other games.
I have a Studio 1537 with a 3450 graphics card, 500GB HDD, 4GB Ram and a T9400 CPU. After around 20 mintues of the laptop being on the area surounding the touchpad gets quite warm

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Studio 1537 laptop. Everything works great.
The bios on my laptop says its A07 when the lastest bios on the Dell website is A05.
Saw one of these poll threads over in the hp forums regarding the HDX16t; thought I might start one for the Studio 15's since many people (including me) are experiencing problems with them.
View 10 Replies View RelatedGot a new Studio 1537 and read a lot about the sound being improved by removing the IDT drivers.
The sound on mine isn't great but I've never had a laptop before so have nothing to judge it by.
Are the new 1537's still improved by removingthe IDT drivers or have Dell already improved it. I don't want to uninstall drivers if its not going to make any difference.
Did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on a Studio 1537 and have a few questions. First off is how do I get the Dell backup software installed? My previous OS was Vista 32 bit so as I'm running a 64 bit os the disks that originally came with my computer probably won't be of any use.
I also require the Dell webcam software program. S Dell has a site where you can download this software but like a number of pages on Dell's site, it doesn't seem to work, does not recognize my service tag..
I also need software for the fingerprint reader. I found the driver for it, Authentec Inc but for some reason I can't find my previous software, Digital Persona Fingerprint Software.
Let me correct that, I did find it on their website but for some reason the program never fully installs itself. It says that it's now preparing to enrolling process but never does
It's been 1 month since I got my studio so I published a review of it on my site, Towards the optimal laptop.
Maybe you'll find it useful: Dell
Studio 15 review.
I wondered about this for awhile because I am starting to see some shadowing on the lower left and right hand corner of my LCD.
I have about 14-15 brightness levels and I ordered the WLED LCD. Any ideas?
My Dell Studio 1537 can't boot up.
No BIOS is display
No error
Wi-Fi Catcher doesn't work while off/on
CD wont eject
Screen doesn't turn on
No HDD activity
The only thing is the media buttons which light up on touch .....
I have a Studio 1537 with a P8400 2.26Ghz CPU
I will be getting another Studio laptop for the mrs as we have had a refund for a bust laptop. As the Studios now come with a P8600 2.4Ghz chip as standard now i would like to swap the faster chip to my laptop.
Is this hard to do / possible? How do i remove the chip and will i need to apply any artic silver (my laptop/chip is only 2 months old).... Its been a while since i've installed a chip, last one being a 2.0Ghz Athlon
I have tried to find info on suitable processor upgrade for the 1537 that I am picking up tomorrow. It comes with the T3400 cpu which I am not a big fan of. I currently have a D630 with a T7500,
and was thinking of putting the T7500 into the 1537. However, after some researching, realized that they come from different platforms with diff FSB. Would that be a big problem? is this upgrade worth it?
If not the T7500, What other processor would you recommand? I have seen people using processors with 800mhz FSB, but not sure whats a good processor to upgrade to...
Ordered a Dell Studio 1537 on Thursday 26th March. Estimated delivery time is 14th April. To be honest with you. I think that is a bit of a long wait. Not very happy. On the other hand the payment cleared and it also went through pre-production within a day. It has been in production(phase 3) for 3 days now.
Other than that....
What do you guys think of it. Good laptop? My main specs are IntelŪ PentiumŪ Dual-Core Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache), 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3450, 160 GB HDD.
I would like the better graphics (even the integrated graphics), but can't determine which model is which at dell.com (not looking for an outlet purchase, just a regular new computer).
Also, can someone tell me the differnces b/w the 1535, 1536, and 1537? I am not a gamer, outside of an occasional game here or there (nothing too crazy-i.e. I have never bought a game that cost more than about $20 for context)...............
Dell has officially yanked the Studio 1537 SE from their website. It hasn't been an option on the actual Studio laptop page for several weeks, but you could still access the model's page by searching for "Studio 15 Special Edition" on Google, or Dell's own search.
Today, though, that page no longer exists. The Google and internal Dell search links just redirect to the main Studio laptop category page.
It was a good machine, and if I had my way, that's what the Studio 15 series would have become, not the 1555. The edge-to-edge display and that unique black and red finish were fantastic. T
his now means that the 1555 is the only Studio 15 model available from Dell anymore, and there's no way to get any of the 15.4" models with media buttons brand new.
Just got a refurb Studio 1537 with a P8600. Using Core Temp, it idles around 50-55 C, and when if it gets to 60 the fan comes on to knock it down to around 45ish, and then it climbs back up.
Should I be using a diff temperature monitor, and also, are those temps high?
i have a dell studio 1537 laptop and the recovery partition D.
I have seen also the file factory.wim in D:dellImage.
Now how can I burn my recovery partition to 2 bootable DVDs to recovery windows everytime I want?
