I have a Seagate 1TB hard drive connected via USB as a backup (Memeo-backup software) to my HP Probook 470 G2 (Windows 7 Pro). The Device Access Manager asks me to authenticate myself every 15 min (approx). This is very annoying. Is the solution to uninstall the DAM s/w and what will the consequences be? Or how to get around the Device Access Manager?
I've got HP client security V 8.3.4.1811 pre installed on my new ProBook 450 G2. However when I try to access the "Device Access Manager" the program crashes and show this error:
"at HP.ProtectTools.DeviceAccessManager.BaseViewModel.Load() at HP.ProtectTools.DeviceAccessManager.UserPage.OnLoaded(Object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) at System.Windows.RoutedEventHandlerInfo.InvokeHandler(Object target, RoutedEventArgs routedEventArgs) at System.Windows.EventRoute.InvokeHandlersImpl(Object source, RoutedEventArgs args, Boolean reRaised) at [code]...
I have an Acer Aspire 5100 series laptop running Windows XP home. Was wanting to use eRecovery Manager to make a full backup of my current system. I have two hard drive partitions, both 60GB in size. The C drive is almost full (onky 9GB free) but the D drive has 47.9GB free. On the "Make Backup Image" page it says that the estimated image size will be 43.96GB, and it shows the free space of the D drive as space available. The problem is that no matter what I put in for the Name of the backup, and no matter the number of characters in the save name, the program fails almost immediately with the following error:
I running my Dell XPS in Windows 7 64 bit and recently I upgraded my realtek software from Dell website, and now I can't find either my Waves maxxaudio default software or a way to make that tactile botton to work.
I recently received the 2000-0142 error when running the diagnostics on my 7720 laptop. I found this to be a hard drive error and purchased another hard drive. After installing the new hard drive I received the 2000-0332 error.

Over the past few weeks, my sound has been going off and I don't know why. Rebooting makes the sound work again. I tried adjusting the power settings to never enter sleep as one person suggested, but that didn't work. So just now I rebooted and then plugged it into my tv using the hdmi and the sound stopped and I had to reboot. I am connecting it to the same tv using the same hdmi cable as many times before.
i have a acer laptop that did have vista on, i have upgraded this recently to windows 7, i have just today bought a new webcam which it says is windows 7 ready plus there are no drivers needed, i can just plug it in and it will work.

I turn on the laptop Inspiron 1545 and keep getting an error message that says, "WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER... Windows failed to start.... Then to gives me 3 steps but when I click F8 nothing happens!!! I insert the cd and it takes forever to do a diagnostic check.
I have the following problem: I set up an Administrator Account with password security and then add a Dell Security with fingerpint security. Now, I cannot access the Windows. The problem is the TPM cannot be connected or something like that. The scan says it accepts the scanned finger, and password is also Ok. How can I disable secure access or reset password, disable fingerprint control, etc. In BIOS I do not find any possibility to disable fingerpint but TPM activation/deactivation is there.
I am using pavilion 15-N 259tx windows 8.1 64 bit. I would like to know if there is any way to easily access / turn my bluetooth ON rather than going to 'pc & devices" and then turning the bluetooth ON.
there is no physical button to turn bluetooth but only the airplane mode... common guys, no one really uses airplane mode daily but bluetooth.
I have an acer laptop e1-571 with windows 8. the mb failed ordered a new one installed it. on boot now i get no bootable device. The bios shows the hard drive and its the first in the boot order. If i hit f12 after powering on to access boot options the 3rd choice is efi device windows boot manager. If i select that it boots normally and runs fine. is their a way to boot the machine without having to hit f12 every time and selecting efi device to boot to windows? i tried updating the bios as well.
i am using a Hp 2000-2312TU laptop. It is just about 15 months old. I use it with windows 8. my laptop was getting heated up a lot. i used sppedfan to test it. temperatures were showing around 83 degree celsius. I took it to a shop and they said some error with heat sink IC and replaced it. Now the temp is ranging between 65-70 degree celsius. is it okay? HDD temp is ~40 deg celsius. I use my laptop always on bed or lap. is a cooling pad must?
P.S. the reason why i took it for servicng is that it showed thermal shutdown messages everytime i was rebooting it.

if anybody has gotten to run Windows 2000 somehow on a Vaio with an Intel ich9 SATA controller? Sony/Intel provide a driver that works fine with XP, but it does NOT work with Win2000. I really want to install Windows 2000 on my new Vaio.
I have a HP Notebook 2000, with Windows 8.1. At some point, the hdmi output to monitor stopped sending an audio signal. The video signal is fine.
It is labeled in Device Manager: 1-STD HDMI TV (AMD High Definition Audio)
The monitor and hdmi cable work fine with other computers. I have disabled/enabled the HDMI device, and also updated drivers (Windows says my drivers are up to date).
