I have bought a 500gb SATA HDD to replace the stock 250gb one.
I would install the drivers from the website but for some reason they don't seem to detect the webcam etc. I also can not find the link for the bluray player.
Is there a version of the original restore image on the interwebs anywhere
I have noticed my 6920g's fan to go annoying loud when playing Warcraft, which indeed is a pretty graphic instensive game depending where you are in WoW.
My question is to anyone else who owns a 6920g and plays WoW, do you have the same fan problems as me? Sure I understand it isnt going to be silent but recently it has seemed to get worse and it's really doing my nut in.
Comments and thoughts, obviously welcome.
I tried doing a search for similar problems but I kept getting a black screen for some reason.
I've just bought the wife a new laptop and it's a 6920g (same as mine lol) with exactly the same spec as mine! but what im wondering is, would it be posible to somehow make a mirror image of my hd and transfer it to her new one? im thinking of using e recovery manager and send her com my user created back up image and then restore it on her side, but im not sure if this would work.
Right after Vista got a virus and gave up on me i took the plunge and installed xp little did i know how much of a nightmare it was going to be. i know there are a few more threads like this but my acer has the hd 3650 and i cant find the drivers anywhere people direct me to a page on the ati website but when i download them it says you do not have the proper hardware for these drivers to be installed . In device manager Display adapters isnt even listed.I stil have ? By network controller uknown device usb device and video controller (vga Compatible)
I have a 6920G with 4Gb of RAM, a C2D T9300 and the Geforce 9500GS running Vista 64-bit.
For some reason I'm only getting 3DMark03 scores around 5200-5300 but I've seen benchmarks of identical systems much much higher. dfegtersgft Why is this?
My brother-in-law has a 6920 with a gig less RAM, a lesser C2D T5700 but a Radeon HD3650 and his 3DMark03 score is 10500.
Any 6920G owner have their hard drive access light stuck on "on" for about 30 seconds or so and have their laptops freeze for this duration? Freeze as in as soon as I click any window, it turns white. This happens every now and then, doesn't matter what I'm doing.
My 6920G shut it'sself off, and now it won't turn on. When I press the power button, it flashes on then off. It does this repeatedly if I hold it down.
I've found most of the drivers for xp64bit but i read that tuba speaker doesn't work well (even if you install the corrent drivers from acer) and that's very dissapointing...
I'm brand new to laptops and just bought an Acer Inspire 6920G and love it!
The only problem is that it came with Vista and keeps giving me problems. So i got out my windows xp cd and tried to reformat it. But after i select to install XP, i get a screen saying that it was unable to find a hard disc and that i might need to run a setup or diagnostic. My computer shows an ACER(C) drive and then a DATA(D) drive, but my windows xp doesn't see it

if anybody has a older version of the bios for Acer aspire 6920G, please send it to tbulls@gmail.com, thanks so much.
I've refreshed my bios to 1.07 and I have tried 1.06 and 1.10. I am not sure if they are official release version, but since I've refreshed my bios with these versions, my computer fails.
In the past, I could use recovery DVD to restore my system, and audio drive work fine, very high quality. Now it's gone, even I use recovery DVD, my audio drive does not works fine.
It sounds like a realtek HD public drive (low sound quality), and I cannot use plug-in microphone when 5.1 Dolby effect opened.
No matter what I do it will not take a microphone. The mic is working, I plugged it into an amp. It can't be the connector as I just got a new one today and tried it on the Aux input of a headphone amp.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I remember having this trouble before. I can't even seen to access "line in" as an option when recording anymore either. What's going on? I need to record some stuff and I can't use the crappy in built mic for that.
I made a purchase to upgrade my cpu to a T9300, today I decided to attempt to upgrade my gpu as I found this on ebay [url] (9600m gt for £109), by the way I am aware of the bios isue and needing a hdmi connection to begin with! but now I thought that seen as I done all this allready that I mayaswell make it a clean sweep and go for a faster hdd whille I'm at it
But what I would like to know is, would I be able to install a new coppy of vista on to my new hdd then install empowering technology and then use the back up image that I have allready created on my external hdd so that I would'nt have to mess around with installing every single one of my programs, apps and games again? as it litteraly takes me about 2-3 days to get it the way I want it (recently took it back tio factory default btw and it was a nightmare lol), or is there a better way to go around it?
I've had the Acer 6920G for quite some time, I realized I should put a stop to throttling/downclocking.
I tried the several ways which came from this site, especially from flipfire and DarkSilver. I already undervolted my cpu, but after I played L4D2 for about 10 mins it started to throttle again. And the post which DarkSilver made was to go to regedit and change some settings in the RightMark CPU Utility, I've done that yet it still throttled.
I also attempted to go to BIOS and check if I could disable EIST, but there was no option. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I've updated my drivers and everything, and I also upgraded to Windwos 7 - but it still stays the same way.
decided to try out undervolting to solve what i suspect are cpu overheating issues which causes the gpu to downclock when playing games... i know others have done the same.. question is, how far below the default voltage have you guys gone? the default for the 12x multiplier is 1.1365v and right now im testing 1.0125v... i think ive undervolted a considerable amount already but have only gotten 1 or 2 degrees off my max cpu temp... also, do i have to undervolt all the multipliers? or is it ok to have my 12x multiplier at a lower voltage than the other multipliers? i dont really have the time to find the right voltage for all the multipliers
I owned a acer 6920g and i just installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I was just wondering how to get all the drivers to install? Do i install vista 64bit driver or 6930g model driver?
I dont know where to get the drivers. I want my 6920g to work like it use to be.
all of a sudden my acer 6920g stopped working.i put it on and a few flashes of light come on the screen and the computer stays idle.the only thing that did happen was that the laptop bag fell...but the laptop bag is quite cushioned so im assuming nothing major happened, also can some1 tell me the itw center in india. i dont hav my booklet with me
However, when I play a game (call of duty 4) and let it choose its own settings, it is great for a while, but then if there is a big explosion etc, it lags down the game, and it stays lagged?
it's running on 1024 x 720 , is the 6920g expected to play this game?
I'm using stock drivers, haven't done my backup yet, using version, 7.15.00.11.7561
I have a Acer Aspire 6920g with the following specs:
Geforce 9500m GS 512MB 4GB RAM Inter Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 2.0 Ghz Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium
I have tried lowering settings to lowest, but i only notice a couple of fps gain.. So if i change my settings from medium to low, i notce +3 fps wish seems really weird. I tried using a lot of tweaks with the commandline, turning off clip capture.. but nothing help, it's still runs at about 15-17fps. Ireally love this game, and I hope i can play it at an acceptable speed. I understand that the game is extremely unoptizmed, but i hope there is something i can do.
I've tried a couple of drivers like the ones on acer site 176, 179.28, 179.48, 182.50 (dox).. but i noticed that all are about the same.. I even tried installing XP, but that didn't help either.
so what do you think i should do?
And for those who have acer 6920g, are you able to play GTA4 fine?
It is a 16" Screen notebook with 1366x768(16:9) resolution. Any good suggestion? I need to know the blowing area and some details(price, weight and so on) of the cooler.
I have an acer 6920g which i intend to upgrade to the maximum possible starting with the cpu, after a bit of research the only contenders are the T9500 and the X9000 but im wondering if its worth it for the x9000 as i believe the bios is locked out on my acer so wouldnt be able to overclock it.
Even still it is 200mhz faster than the T9500 but am i going to notice this in the real world?
Next will be memory, apparently the chipset only supports up to pc5300 667mhz ram but will take pc6400 800mhz ram and downclock..
So to confirm, there is no gain in putting in faster ram?
Either way i will be putting in 4gb of decent low latency ram.
Now for a tricky 1, graphics......
I currently have an ati hd3650 512mb card that resides in an mxm2 slot which when i bought the laptop was the best gfx card i could find in it but no i want to put a 9600gt in to compliment the rest of the upgraded system (as i do play the odd game!) but have not found anything confirming if they work fully, i have found a card on ebay that has an acer bios and is ddr3, i'm assuming that with an acer bios it should work?

Also i will be putting in a large but fast hard drive such as this
this thing makes a loud noise and know one responded to my thread concering my DVD-R :'I'll guess I have to do it on my own or call acer support . But how can i take this thing out so i can see if some screw is lose or there is some dents(How could there be dents who knows)I'd like to see the and were they are located...i'll probably be ended calling support with my dad, Hes another thing. Some CD's it makes no noise, and its always working with those CD's. Other CD's make hella lotta noise...this is a werid conclusion but I THINK DVD's make no noise, and CD's make noise, now not just Music CD's but i mea CD's with 700m not 4 gb like DVD's.
My T9300 800MT/s 6920G has 4Gb of PC-5300 DDR2 RAM @ 5-5-5-15 @ 667mhz.
CPUID reports this as being 3:5 Asynchronous with my FSB, which I know makes me take a big performance hit.
If I got hold of 4Gb of PC-6400 DDR2 RAM with similar cas/ras timings, will I benefit from a performance increase? I read somewhere that having DDR2 RAM running at double (1:2) your FSB is the best for performance, especially on C2D chips.
As there is no way of setting up RAM speeds and timings in the BIOS, would it autodetect the change from PC-5300 to PC-6400 and switch from 3:5 to 1:2 automatically?
Why have Acer crippled an 800MT/s system with PC-5300 RAM in the first place?
