I have an Aspire 6920G, and people on this forum recently recommended I get a T9500 as the processor upgrade with "the best" performance. I just want to confirm, before I make the purchase, that this processor is indeed the fastest 1 I can get for my laptop, and that my laptop can actually handle it (FSB, mobo, heat, etc.).
is it a good idea to get a T9300 and overclock it to 2.6 GHz-2.8 GHz? The only difference (according to Intel's sheets) is the clock speed between T9300 and T9500.
I plan to buy a T9500/T9300 and put it in my Acer Aspire 6920G. Hopefully T9300 and OC.
I have a Acer Aspire 6920g with the following specs:
Geforce 9500m GS 512MB 4GB RAM Inter Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 2.0 Ghz Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium
I have tried lowering settings to lowest, but i only notice a couple of fps gain.. So if i change my settings from medium to low, i notce +3 fps wish seems really weird. I tried using a lot of tweaks with the commandline, turning off clip capture.. but nothing help, it's still runs at about 15-17fps. Ireally love this game, and I hope i can play it at an acceptable speed. I understand that the game is extremely unoptizmed, but i hope there is something i can do.
I've tried a couple of drivers like the ones on acer site 176, 179.28, 179.48, 182.50 (dox).. but i noticed that all are about the same.. I even tried installing XP, but that didn't help either.
so what do you think i should do?
And for those who have acer 6920g, are you able to play GTA4 fine?
this thing makes a loud noise and know one responded to my thread concering my DVD-R :'I'll guess I have to do it on my own or call acer support . But how can i take this thing out so i can see if some screw is lose or there is some dents(How could there be dents who knows)I'd like to see the and were they are located...i'll probably be ended calling support with my dad, Hes another thing. Some CD's it makes no noise, and its always working with those CD's. Other CD's make hella lotta noise...this is a werid conclusion but I THINK DVD's make no noise, and CD's make noise, now not just Music CD's but i mea CD's with 700m not 4 gb like DVD's.
How does 1 accomplish a thorough cleaning of said laptop? Currently I just vacuum all holes in the laptop and wipe the entire exterior with screen cleaner.
my Acer Aspire 6920G battery no longer holds a charge. I have made sure that it was charged 100% even on power saver mode and the battery will go to 100% to 5% within 5 min. I looked at the battery condition on my laptop and it says to replace it.Where do i buy an acer battery ? Is this covered by costco's 2 year warranty?
how do i format, cleaning my hardrive, and what will be removed, and do i need to do anything? If i format did i need t backup windows to a disk or can i format without backing anything up to disk, in otherwords everything to format is on my Laptop(Aspire 6920g)? I dont need to save files, just my saved games
My CPU is a real bottleneck for me. Is there a way I can upgrade my cpu? Know that i'm not that computer advanced when it comes to b replacing parts. Would there be a place where I could take it to upgrade my cpu?
I have an acer aspire gemstone blue 6920G, and I am wondering, can I use wubi to install Ubuntu on this laptop? As you may know the laptop has one Partition for windows vista, one has XP (Acer instant on), and one has the repair partition, meaning all my boot Partitions are taken. Also theres a data Partition. Even with the boot partitions all taken can I use Wubi? I know it may stop the instant on from working, I don't really care about that.
I hav an acer aspire 6920G. It has builded-in windows vista(which in the hidden partition). It uses the hidden partition to restore default factory(format).
If I format my 6920G to windows xp or 7, could I still able to format it back to windows vista using the hidden partition?
under normal operating conditions (having firefox, CPUID HWMonitor, Windows live messenger, and WMP open) the CPU is running at 17~30°C but the GPU runs at around 63~69°C
this isn't normal is it?
with a fan underneath blowing on the bottom of the lappy, cpu runs at 8~23°C and gpu runs at 53~58°C
Im having a small gaming problem here. Im playing world of warcraft on my Aspire 6920g and it works perfectly smooth for like 5 minutes then starts performance decrease until its very bad. If I minimalize the game, for like, one minute and then maximize it back, it works perfectly smooth for some time again. I have no idea how to fix it. It probably isnt overheating as it occurs after I launch my lappy and then the game(the laptop is cold).
Im just woundering, whats the best antivirus for acer aspire 6920g, Im a "gamer" lol, so I dont stuff thats laggy but i like stuff that keeps me protected, so give me a list of a couple of antiviruses
Plus i have an option, i get my ca thru my isp for free, so what should i use my mcafee or ca 2008?
Im curious to see who else plays this on there laptop, aspire 6920g to be more specific , does any fellow 6920g and cod4 owners have ever lagged in cod4, like not be lagging then just suddenly get a lag spike and be totaly lagged out for until you restart cod4, if yes mind telling me the steps what you did if you fixed, and may i ask what driver number you use for nvidia?

i have this shutdown problem. it started since i installing windows 7 into my laptop. my computer turns of itself after 10-30 seconds after an OS boot. except on safe mode option. the computer works fine on safe mode. at first, i thought that this due to software problems. then i think i should wipe out my OS and install new OS.but unfortunately, my laptop turns of itself while installing the OS!. this sound weird isnt it?
ive tried to use multiple OS to be installed. win7, vista, and even unbuntu OS also. but the turn off problem still occurs..
ive read from other post about the thermal issues, doing some patches at BIOS download from acer websites. now, im running on v1.14 for my BIOS. still. the turn off issues still occurs.
so, ive tried to look for the hardware malfunctions since trying to look at software problems cant find a clue.
after doin some reasearch and testing, ive notice that by disabling my duo processor in device manager, the computer works fine. by using single core processor now makes my laptop works fine. but surely, im running on low state now.
I've had this problem for a couple of weeks now. Didn't notice this until I installed Windows 7, but now my webcam does not work. I think it has to do with my laptop falling off the couch as I had problems after that getting the card reader to work (card reader is fine now). I have tried running the Crystal Eye program in XP, Vista 32-bit, Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit with no luck (it just says camera not found). Occasionally in Vista I will get a popup error message saying a usb device has malfunctioned, and when I look in device manager it says unknown device.
Alright, I recently installed Windows XP Dark Edition on my 6920G. Now, before going any further, yes this isn't an official version, it's a mod made by people... however, it does work- I installed it on my friends Dell and he has no problems whatsoever. So, I changed the HDD to IDE mode because SATA and XP don't go together! The whole thing was working fine for about 20 days until this morning the laptop froze. I couldn't move the mouse, and task manager wasn't working. I turned it off and restarted- only to see the load ar on windows freeze. It stays like this for ever and I'm forced to manual restart again. The only thing that successfully works is Safe Mode... ---------------------------------- Now, to give a little background info, I've installed another version of XP before this. I had the same problem after a few days no matter how many reinstalls. Also, the XP repair feature (and this is what worries me) says: No HDD found. Please ensure drives are powered on blah blah... So, I'm here without a laptop and this familiar problem of a ed OS! Last time, I just formatted the C: drive, and reinstalled. I even updated BIOS incase that was an issue. ---------------------------------- Now, I know reinstalling the OS may cure the problem, but it's only a temporary fix, and I want a real solution. I rang Acer support, who tell me it's probably a software problem from microsoft update... I don't really believe this since each time (and I've done about 6 reinstalls of XP) the timing of this fatal error is random, ranging from one day to this- about 20 days.
I have the lappy for some time now and at start it didnt gave me any problems i played Crysis Warhead at Medium 60-80 fps. Now it downcloks all the time and cant even play the simpliest of games what the hell should i do?Its freakin me out...
The laptop randomly freezes and is unable to run after (need to turn it off using the power button).
- I scanned it for spyware and viruses - Checked the drive using the windows tool - I did not install any new software lately - Installed the newest Intel Matrix Storage Manager (since I found it may be causing freezing problem) - I noticed increased power consumption while running on battery (from 15mWh to over 22mWh)
I'm afraid this really may be hardware related issue.
I noticed that on my windows score my ram was the lowest. Why? I have 3 Gb the max I can have for a 32 bit OS. is it because the ram is DDR2? Is there really a point to upgrade my ram? Will it make my computer faster? Or is it possible to upgrade my ram on my acer aspire 6920G?
I'd like to install additional RAM Memory in my laptop (as title said, the Acer Aspire 6920G) which only has 2Gb. I've bought a 2Gb memoy module. My problem is that when I try to open the notebook (i removed the necessary screws), it seems like there is something preventing me from opening it and I'm scared to break the laptop so I don't know if I should force it to open or if I missed somethink.
anyway when watching videos on youtube with people playing games on the same laptop i found out that my laptop is slower than the ones other poeple have? i already tried to clean it with those air bottles but my laptop is still slower than the ones on youtube is there anyway to make my laptop faste without overclocking it because i dont wanna loose my warranty. another question i have is because of changing hardware i read some hreads about changing cpus most people recommended a core 2 duo t9300 but would it be a bis increase in my cause? when looking on alternate i saw that they have a t9600 for the same price so i wondered whether i could use that one as welll even though it has a fsb of 1066 instead of my 800 that im using right now another one i saw was the p8600 (its said penryn-3m i dont know what that means) but it also has a fsb of 1066
another thing is changing the graphic card first i have a question where i can buy graphic cards for laptops and then i read in a thread that the highest i can get is a 9650m gs because i only have a mxm II slot in my pc but on notebookcheck.com it says that the 9650 needs a mxm III slot. and the i have a question whether i could could use one of the new graphic cards from the geforce gtx 2000 serie
and finaly i have the question what else i could change to make my pc faster like ram or hard drive or soo
