May 16, 2009Has anyone seen or done any PCmark, 3dmark etc performance testing with the slightly newer cpu's?
I am really interested in them as you can run 8gb of ram and am wondering if the 2.93ghz

New palmrest design is looking more better than the picture, the 1920x1080 screen does not look too small at all because it set font size to 125%. Text look a little bigger than the 1600x900 at font size 100%
When i set the font size back to 100% the text is small but not too much i think many people can live with that size.
After that i download some benchmark programs to test the device but in final the sale really don't want me to do that. So i took a picture in hurry and this is the result.

Mar 9, 2009Someone over at macrumors just received their 2.93ghz 8 core machine with the ati 4870.
He ran geekbench and came up with a score of 17627! That is freakishly fast.

I'm thinking about either the 2.66Ghz Nehalem or the 2.93Ghz before picking one up at the Apple Store.
But for NOW the 2.93Ghz looks like the one I want.

Nov 21, 2009im thinking of buying a 2.53Ghz 13 Inch Macbook Pro. Im going to be switching from a E7300 2.66ghz Core 2 Duo PC with 2gb of Ram and Windows Xp. I need something a bit faster then my current configuration and was wondering if the 2.53Ghz Macbook Pro with 4gb of Ram would do me justice. I will be using it mostly for music production, using Propellerhead Reason software, and of course internet use, and HD video. Would I get better performance Switching to the 2.53ghz Macbook Pro?

May 27, 2009At the beginning, I love the Silent Mode since it's making the Z fan to turn off more often and therefore offering me a really peaceful silent environment.
However, when I tried to open program or decode datas, the CPU would only go as high as 2.1Ghz.
I would have to switched the Termal Control back to Balanced Mode to get the maximum speed of 2.66Ghz back

Question is, how much difference does 2 gigs of RAM to 4 gigs of RAM make and is there any other difference besides spec in last seasons model to the summer model?

Mar 5, 2009I'm trying to find info on an aspire... Not the model # itself as that is not the problem, but the sub model#...
The model is Acer Aspire 8930G, but the sub model # is 6963 and that is where my research seems to go dry... Does anyone have info on this sub model #?
Also i might ask is how user friendly is the 8930G for upgrades as for the processor and video? The current processor is the T5800 with the 9600m nvidia... Would it make sense to upgrade and what is the potential of this 8930G with the T5800?

And I plan to buy an imac to be my powerful Desktop or in case my Laptop stops working sometimes.
I need one more powerful than my Dell (If less I dont know why I have to buy a Desktop anyway)
I know i7 2.8Ghz quad core with hyper threading and Ati 4850 512 GB model from new Imac will beat My Dell badly but How about i5 model with ATI 4850 512 or Core 2 3.33 E8600 (if I got it right) with ATI 4670 256 GB?

Oct 19, 2009Im stuck between getting an acer 1810tz or the DM1, the DM1 is actually a bit better with its DDR3 and bluetooth, its possible i can get it for cheaper as well.
However the inspiron 11z looks great too but the reviews say that sucks with its horrible touchpad and only 1 ram slot etc, i cant find any reviews of the DM1 anywhere, is it a good laptop? Better than the 1810tz?
