I bought a new Dell Inspiron 5547 from US.From past ten days its sayings No Bootable device found error while starting.I've checked BIOS setting HDD is not detected.But after few hours I'm able to open it.After few minutes the disk space reaches to maximum due to svchost.exe process.

Now I've browsed the Internet and taken a few steps, firstly I ran the diagnostics in the bios and it was saying my hard drive wasn't installed. Then I followed a guide on this forum. I changed the Sata from ACHI to Intel Smart Technology, however now I'm unable to get back into the boot settings and instead my laptop just stalls on the Dell boot up screen.
All this has literally happened out of nowhere today, I run my own business and I rely heavily on my laptop. I can't afford to lose any documents. I'm baffled how it can just malfunction out of nowhere.
I have got a inspirion 1545 and when i boot it up i get the message "no bootable device found please reseat the drive" ?????
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was doing some work on my Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit on the XPS m1330 laptop and when i decided to restart, i got the no bootable device found message.
I ran diagnostics, no errors found.
When i put in the vista ultimate disc and NOT press anything. It will boot into windows.
When I do not have it in. It will tell me no bootable device found.
The hard drive does show in device info in bios.
Im running the chkdsk c: /f /r from command prompt in vista repair thing.
I wonder what message i will get after i complete the chkdsk.
Would reinstalling windows as a whole fix this problem?

Now I'm getting a "No bootable device - insert boot disk" message. I thought that was what I had gotten from HP? how to recover system and then reinstall Windows 7?

I've removed & reinserted the disk tray but the error persists.Even in the BIOS the hard drive doesn't show up and cannot be detected by Diagnostics either.
I removed it from the laptop and connected it to my desktop and its working fine. So my guess is the problem is not with the disk. The laptop is out of warranty.
The web cam will show up at times in the device manager but only under show hidden devices. I have gone through the delete the cam and usb hub from devices, load every update, tried every trouble shooter. and reloaded the operating system.

I just got my Inspiron 14 for my birthday in March and Its died on me (I assume). It's still under warranty, but im not entirely sure how or where to send it to get it fixed. I still have the original box it came in as well and would love to get it fixed as soon as possible, but I would rather fix it myself if possible.Upon starting the laptop, a black screen appears with the message, "No Boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine". I ran a diagnostic and it said that the hard drive wasn't installed and that the CPU fan went out. I removed the back of the laptop and checked the fan which seems to be running absolutely fine. I took the error code it produced and searched it on the website and it told me to download the latest BIOS but I can't because the laptop won't start up to where I can get on the internet.

Every once in a while, especially in the middle of a lengthy download, everything stops and the screen goes right to this message: No bootable devices found.
Error Code 2000-0141. This used to happen very infrequently, but now it is more often and scary. I have removed and reseated the HD twice.
My previous Dell Latitude D630 went out of order (nvidia graphics) so I bought another d630 second hand without hard disk and introduced the "old" hard disk.
Everything works fine (installing drivers...) except the DVD/CD is not recognized at all:
- when in the BIOS, putting the boot sequence to: CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive
the Laptop says: No bootable devices... (It also says that, when I unplug the DVD/CD)
The DVD/CD itself does a short spinning movement when booting, so it seems to have "electricty".
I've upgraded the BIOS to A18 already;
When booting Windows, the drive is missing altogether (the hardware manager does not show it as an unregonized driver; instead the drive is missing altogether)
I understand the DVD, though introduced to the Laptop, is connected via USB - do I need some USB driver update or how can I fix this?
Is there a manual that would tell me how to check cabling or similar things? when I introduce the DVD from the old hardware - which was/is working, it is also not found in the "new" laptop, so I suppose the DVD hardware "connection" is missing??
I have a dell Inspiron 15r 3537 i7 model with windows 8. I bought it 4 months ago. I was playing a game on it and it suddenly hanged. I waited for 5-10 minutes and tried to close the game but it wasn't closing and it was hung. I waited for atleast 15 minutes and I had no choice so I switched it off from the power button thinking that it will turn on normally. I took the laptop to a local service center and they said that I need a new motherboard. They said they swapped the hard drive with a working one and got the same error message. By that their diagnosis is that the motherboard is damaged.
Where I can purchase a replacement motherboard?
I just bought this and when i first got it it said 5 to 6 hrs remaining but now it shows 2 or 3 hrs after a full charge (it says up to 7 hrs on website). I have updated the BIOS and drivers which worked for a while but its back to 2-3 hrs again. In the BIOS it says the battery is running normally.

About 6 months ago, the computer said I could make a boot disc and be able to use that to restore my computer to factory and after I make the boot disc, I can delete the recovery partition as it will be stored on the disc. So I went ahead and make the disc (it turned out to be 4 discs) and the computer deleted the partition. Now I am here trying to use the discs to restore to factory, however, my optical drive isn't detected when the bios is booting. Because of this I need to turn those 4 discs into a bootable USB thumb drive. I have looked all over and there are many different ways of converting 1 disc into usb, but not 4.

It is listed within the Device Manager as "5880" and after some investigation it appears to be the Broadcom USH CV for a fingerprint reader. I do not have a fingerprint reader installed. I have extracted the drivers from another system and pointed the hardware wizard there but to no good effect.

Can I maybe download a copy from MS and use the license that comes with my system? I seem to remember requesting a disk from dell in the past, is that an option?

When I run the system diagnostics for the Hard Disk Test, it says:
"Hard Disk Test Failed
Hard disk not exist"
What do I do? I went to the website but its suggesting that I basically may have to do a system recovery to the factory installed state...I have a lot of stuff I don't want to lose.
I also tried removing the hard drive and putting it back in, that didn't help either.
I called tech support and I still have my warrranty so I will be getting a Hp box to put my tablet in within a few days. But they told me I would most likely lose all the data I have saved.
Then I used a liveCD in hopes of backing up my harddrive but the liveCD won't even boot..unless im doing it wrong...( burn iso to CD, then load CD into laptop, and press f10? and/or turn on computer with CD inserted in and then let it load if it wants to?)

So, after a clean install of windows 7 i go to install the bluetooth software from broadcom's site the install utility reports that it cannot find a bluetooth device, and that i should enable the device/turn the device on problem is no bluetooth devices are listed in the device manager and there's no button on the laptop to enable/disable the bluetooth controller. I do not want to install the hp wireless assistant.

However after pressing alt+f at the Dell logo nothing happens it just tries to boot.
I have an Alien M14x that when turned on displays the message "checking media" then the message "no boot device found hit any key to reboot". Of course when you hit a key it restarts the messages. I followed another feed and hit F2 to reset defaults with F9 with no success. When I tried to diagnose with F12 it says hard drive not installed???!! Haven't altered or changed anything and it stopped working less than 2 years old but out of warranty.

My laptop in under international warranty.one of my friend told me to unplug the battery and reconnect the same and problem will be resolved but there is two screw in the bottom plate and I confuse to unscrew. View 2 Replies View Relatedi bought a acer laptop @ bestbuy and it came with preinstall vista home. i used the computer fine and all and the internet connects to my router find and was surfing the internet. i then decided to install a fresh copy of my own vista ultimate because i dont like the preinstall stuff that they did because it just clutters up space. after i finish my install of vista ultimate, my laptop doesn't connect to the internet. i know this is simply but i dont see network adapters under the device manager in the computer management screen. i am worried because if i have to install the driver, then i would see some icons with a yellow exclamation mark, but i dont see NETWORK ADAPTERS AT ALL. i dont know how to solve this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all. i've tried to press scan for new hardware changes but still i dont see the network adpaters. i thought if you install vista ultimate, then it will install the wireless drivers for you too.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion 11-h013dx x2 pc running windows 8 and this weekend all of a sudden my computer shut down. When I restarted it I was given a blue screen which gave me the option to restore and refresh. I tried both options but the computer shut down when it got to 15% of restoring. Then when I turned on the computer it gives me a black screen saying boot device not found. I hit F10, enter, F9, enter, then exited and saved, that did nothing. I ran the hard disk check which passed. I ran the memory check and that failed with the code RQDATS-6T079C-MFPWWK-002103. I can't remember what other screen I was on when I got a different error code, but this one came up as well at some point and I wrote it down RQDATS-6T079B-MFPWWK-001H03.
