View 10 Replies View Relateddoes a nvida geforce go 7800 (not gtx) fit in a dell inspiron 9300 (that has a x300 in it currently)?
was bidding on one on ebay that said it fits a dell 9300 but i wanted to double check.
I have Inspiron 9300. Unfortunately, my geforce 6800 died and I bought as a replacement x300 which was installed by a laptop repair service (they fixed other thins too.
It was due to power surge). Everything works but when I boot up the computer or when the display is set to be turned off in the power settings in Windows instead of being actually turned off the display is on and is all white.
Also brightness regulation does not work via Fn +arrows keys and is set to maximum and the white color is so intense that I get a headache after a couple of hours staring at the screen.
Is there a simple way to remove the plastic blank that ships in the express card slot?
I have to use a dental pick to catch a corner of it and pull it out. The media slot works fine because you just push in on it until it pops out but the express card doesn't seem to do this? ..
I was playing with my computer and I noticed that in the battery compartment, there is a compartment for something that looked like a sim card, so I busted out the user manual (for the first time) and looked it up, and sure enough it's a slot for a sim card.
Anyway, I'm wondering what that slot does, which I'm probably guessing mobile broadband? HSDPA/EVDO?
Does anyone here actually use the sim card slot, and is there something special you need or can you just go to a local AT&T store and buy a sim card with HSDPA?
I have the Dell Studio 14z... I want to make use of my Express Card Slot.. Will I get any peformance boost by installing my OS to the following card:

I have had my studio 1737 for ages now.. I took it apart today to steal a U.Fl connector for my eeepc and i noticed a sim card slot on the board (remove the battery and you access it there) is it a modem or back up thing? Any ideas

I have a Dell Vostro 1000 and my SD card slot will not work. My brother has the SAME exact one as I do and his works.
I tried my same card on his and it worked fine. We ordered the laptops together, added the same stuff just changed the quantity.
I remember having an option to get one of those add-on's by the pci slot (I think that's what the slot on the left side right?)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased a TT-34G/D couple of months ago. I use an Option Globetrotter 3G express card for mobile internet where wifi is unavailable.
However, the card fits very loosely inside the slot, and comes out upon a slightest pull.

I had originally planned on just building a seperate desktop, but had recieved some interesting offers on here and seen some things on ebay that made me reconsider breathing a bit more life into this laptop.
I have an older Inspiron 9300, that originally came with a 6800go (256mb). What other cards can I put in it that will a) fit and b) perform well, without c) needing major modifications (new battery, etc, etc)?
I know the 6800go will, and the x300, but what about the 7300go that was put in the e1505s and Inspiron 6400s a generation later? Do the heatsinks and stuff line up still, or are they the wrong size?
Any advice or links would be appreciated. Also, if someone has a part they'd like to sell, or links to places they can be found for cheap, feel free to hit me up in-thread with those as well.
the wireless driver on the Dell website does NOT work. Googling this problem leads me to believe that I am not the only one with it.
However I have not seen anyone with a solution; most people are just linked to the Dell website and the Dell driver, which doesn't work at all.
For those with the new Sony Vaio Z11, how does the Sony MS card and the SD memory cards fit in their respective slots? Once inserted, are they flush against the notebook body contour or do they stick out?
Also, is there a locking mechanism that holds the cards in place? Or are the cards just wedged in there
Does the (U.S) Vaio Z790 have a Sim card slot, for mobile broadband, i know the old models had one but does this model have one? Does it support HSPDA and/or 3G.

I recently discovered that my T520 has a SIM card slot (inside the battery slot)
I tried to put my cell phone SIM card in it, but there's no reaction (no "New device connected" popup dialog).
What should I do ?
Is there a driver + software that needs to be installed ? Which one?
I want to upgrade the RAM of my laptop, but before I buy a second card, I wanted to make sure that the computer would be compatible with it. I opened it up to access the RAM, but when I tried to put the card that was already installed into the second slot, it wouldn't fit. It appears to be the right size, but it will not fit in the slot.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAlright I have looked at every single piece of literature I can find and I am stumped. I have an eMachines EM250 (mechanically identical to the AO D250) and I can not for the life of me figure out what the small card slot on the bottom of the computer is. I know the memory slot and the HDD slot but the third slot is a mystery. I think it is a mini-PCI slot for a solid state memory module but I'd like to find a definitive answer before I go any further.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just reveiced my Lenovo Thinkpad x240 20AL000AAU with SD card reader integrated.
I inserted an SD card standard size and the card is read properly, I can access all the files and I can write on it.
The problem is that I cannot extract the card from the SD card slot!
If I right-click on SD card in My Computer and choose eject, it says that it is safe to remove the card. If I select "Safely remove Hardware and eject media" it tells me that it is safe to remove it...but the card is stuck inside!
I read somewhere to press the card until I hear a click but I cannot hear any click.
Also the card is unreachable inside the slot. I cannot grab it to pull it. I can only press it a little bit with the nail, it goes one millimeter inside but I don't hear any click.
Guide to Switching your Inspiron 9300/M170 WUXGA into the Inspiron 9400/M1710:
You can't simply replace the display screens. The instructions below must be followed for your screen to work properly.
Required Materials:
- Small Phillips (I used #0 Phillips)
- Either 2 monitors (9400 and 9300) or part #YPNL-N017B (Google the # to buy it).
Step 1: Remove the display assembly. Dell has an excellent guide for this on their website.
[url] Click on Display)
Step 2: Remove the LCD Bezel (the gray trim around the screen). This requires removing the screws under the circular pads. I used a small flathead to pry open the bezel.
Step 3: Remove the 8 screws around the sides of the LCD. This will make it so your screen can be taken out. Do not worry about any screws on the top, they are for other things.
Step 4: At the bottom of the screen, there is a green circuit board. On the left side, you will see a screw holding the wire down. Remove this.
Step 5: Remove the LCD screen from the case.
Step 6: Look at the bottom circuit board again. This is the board we need to swap! Disconnect the 2 connections on the board. There should be on on the bottom and one on the side that is white.
Step 7: There will be 3 silver screws holding the circuit to the screen. Remove these screws. Note: This requires a very small phillips. I used a #0 Phillips to do the trick.
Step 8: Repeat steps 1-7 for your other monitor OR if you don't have another monitor...you will need to buy an inverter chip. The mfg # is YPNL-N017B. If you google that number, you should find a bunch of sites willing to sell it.
Step 9: Simply swap the bottom circuit boards between monitors or insert the new one that you bought.
Step 10: Follow steps 1-7 in reverse to reconnect everything back up! Before screwing everything back up. I suggest you plug it in first to test it out.
Congratulations. Your WUXGA LCD will now work properly on the Inspiron 9400. For anyone wondering, you MUST replace the bottom circuit board or the brightness controls will not work. You brightness will be stuck at the lowest setting and nearly impossible to see.
BEEN a While and A long time...
I currently order a Pentium M 735 1.7 Ghz 400FSB to overclock up to 2.26Ghz@533Mhz. Still waiting on shipping. Anyways, I am looking forward about upgrade my GPU Go 6800 OCed 370Mhz/700Mhz to Go 7800 (NON-GTX).
Yeah, GTX one is pricey for me.
I am wondering does the Non GTX version of Go 7800 still need 130Watts Adapter?
I did a lot of search all I could find is people talks about 7800GTX version.
In my thought I think 6800 to 7800 different is more pipelines and pixel fill rates and etc and the power needed is the same. Right?
So do I need 130 watts or I just keep 90 watts adapter which is perfect for NON-GTX Go 7800
My Beast's 80 gig 5400 rpm HDD is on its last legs, and I was wondering what Hard Drives are available for me to replace my old one. I will definitely be looking to upgrade.
