I tried burning some data cds using Nero Burning Rom 6.3.1.25 on my m1710 which has the TS-L632D slim 8x DVD+/-RW and when it's finished burning and i put it back in the drive, the cd appears blank ....

My DVD Player supports all DVD-R and CD-R formats but will not recognise a disk burned with Vista!! Can you burn Video in WMP?
I know you can burn cd's..just want my dvd-r to play in a normal DVD player or any laptop! Also..looked at burning a disc with Roxio Creater but find it very complicated!
i have windows XP with service pack 2 in my XPS M1530. All the drivers seems to be fine. one problem now i have is it does not burn CD with any softwares, not even with XP cd writing s/w directly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 4 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 that has recently been giving me a number of problems. For the past two days the laptop has been flickering between the display and a black screen, with it becoming somewhat more frequent as time went on.
I had read that it may be a loose wire and I had planned on opening it up and attempting to fix it myself (the warranty is over and I'd rather attempt to fix it myself first before paying to have it fixed at extremely high prices).
However, the lower right corner of the screen has recently started to become incredibly hot and noticeable smoke and burning has begun to occur. I immediately shut off and unplugged the computer and have not used it since .....
I'm aware coastering can happen with any DVD/CD burners, but the TSST corp drive in my 1737 seems to have serious problems with DVD-R's.
Burning via Nero seems to result in errors at the verification stage more often than getting a successful burn.
When the burn IS successful, the disc takes an age to access the data, much longer than it should,
and when playing back DIVX movies on my stand-alone DVD player there are loads of points where the film skips a few seconds then continues (not a player issue, its fine with stuff I burn on my desktop).
Can it be done?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Combo device (TSSTcorp) on my Dell Inspiron. When I burn a DVD data disk with Nero it is burned at 1X to 1.2X. It doesn't matter which speed I have set (4X or 8X). So it takes approximately 50 minutes to burn a full DVD and after that the verification takes same time at this speed again.
When I burn a CD the real speed is again slower than the speed I have chosen. And at the end of the burning process I get a message saying that "buffer underrun error has been avoided hundreds of times" or something like this.
I have been trying to burn some dvd's and I am having so/so luck. I get a burn on the dvd itself and it will play on my laptop, but for some reason when I put it in a normal DVD Player it does not read. In fact the player will say error on disk.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my new mac a week or so ago, and i decided to burn some dvd`s the dvd-r disks burned fine i tried a couple of different brands and did a verify.
My problem is with the dvd-rw disks, i have a couple of verbatim 4x and a couple of datawrite 4x used dvd`s not new, but when ever i try to write to these i get verrify errors or writing just stops 3/4 way though the dvd and i am forced to abort the write, i have done this 3-4 times on all dvd`s
I have even tried to do a full format/erase of the dvd-rw but they get to 3/4 and i get an error or the writing just stops.
I now have manged to get all 4 dvd-rw to work perfectly , but i had to burn a movie to them on my panasonic dvd recorder under my tv in my sitting room.
Then when i do a quick erase on the mac and do a dvd copy it works 100% with verification.
I now have all my dvd-rw disk working 100% as far as i can tell.
I am trying to burn a few CDs for my girlfriend and I am coming across a few problems.
I have tried burning with Zune software, WMP and a free burner called CDBurnerXP.
Sometimes the CDs will burn fine all the way through, and other times after half way it stops and I get error messages. This has happened with all the programs I have listed.
The error is something along the lines of saying to check if the drive is connected properly or possible driver issues. Can someone direct me to the latest driver for the CD drive?
Anyone else encounter any similar problems when trying to burn CDs?
Forgot to mention this is also happening on my girlfriends laptop, which is also a dv5t...
I have several .avi movies that I want to burn onto DVD so I cant watch them through my XBOX elite.
What would be the best way to do this without compromising quality? I've tried iDVD but the quality is significantly lowered.
No matter what songs I burn onto a CD on my macbook pro, the first two tracks are always defective (it won't play on iTunes). On every single bloody CD. It doesn't matter if I change the songs. And once I take it out and put it back in, the computer doesn't even recognize the thing and it just spits it back out. I tried it on my sister's macbook and it still won't play. It won't play on my car stereo. I'm frankly very disappointed.
My laptop's a macbook pro, core 2 duo late 2006-early 2007 version.
I know iTunes is full of bugs and I'm really starting to get annoyed but this maybe the straw that puts me over the edge to finding an alternative. I've tried 2 different brands of CD's and even one that was a friggin "Sony CD-R". Still when iTunes burns my disks it'll finish like normal and mount the finished product in the sidebar, and upon first inspection it looks fine but when I play through the CD all the ends of my songs are cut off and some skip and then some are just plain not there (towards the end of the disk).
I've looked at the individual song properties and none of them specify a start or end time and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I know CD's aren't expensive but when I only burn like 1-2 a month, and I buy a five pack and it messes them all up that's money I'm just "burning" (pun intended). Could it be a problem with the buffer under-run? In that case it's HW and I'd need to RMA it to Sony... or is there some special tool I can use to see if I can calibrate the drive or something? the drive in QTS is an Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 with the released firmware update.
I am about to buy a HP G60t for my sister. I would like to know if this laptop comes with a CD/DVD burning program. For example, my old HP Compaq came with Roxio RecordNow!.
While configuring my HP G60t, I get the impression that I have to buy the Cyberlink DVD Suite Premium 6. Obviously, I would like to avoid buying this software if the laptop will already have a similiarly-functioning software installed.
I have searched on HP's website as well as on the internet for answers but all to no avail.
And I would also like to know the same for the HP Pavilion dv6t and dv4t. I plan to buy this for myself.
I got a film file, and I've made a menu for it on iDVD.
It's a .dvdproj file, and the file is small enough to fit on my 4.7GB DvD-R disc.
I've got it open in iDVD, and I've clicked the little Nuclear icon next to the Preview or PLAY icon. But it keeps saying "There was an Error in Encoding" or something alike when it gets to the end of the Menu burning process.
My laptop is HP Envy m6 Notebook PC(model number: D1E93UAR#ABA). Is this laptop has any software to burn files to disk?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a new sony vaio fw41e/h. And i've been using the blueray driver a lot for burning dvd's since it's capable of doing that. But since yesterday my drive just stopped burning dvd's and got no idea what might have caused it. I didn't find any errors or something when i burned my last dvd, which worked. I used the os it came with which is vista 32 bit. I don't think it's a hardware error because it can still read the dvd's but i just can't burn them. I also tried several different applications for burning, like clonecd, imgburn and nero but neither worked. For instance, when i use clonecd it just starts normally but after 30 seconds the bar raises up to 100% and just finishes and it said it couldn't burn it. for the people who wanna know what kind of drive it is, it is a mata bd-cmb uj130as.

I've tried a few times with the same result. Anyone know what the deal is here? Do I need a special high quality disc or could it be something else?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLike many others who use this series, I was faced with a dead HP laptop 3 weeks ago, giving nothing but a blank screen and 3 beeps (1 long, 2 short).
It turned out that almost all models under this series had this same problem due to the NVidia graphic card that overheated the mainboard So I sent mine in for repair at the HP service center and just got it back a few days ago.
I was just wondering if there is any way at all that I can prevent the new mainboard from overheating like this again? I would like to my notebook to live as long as possible from now on.
I checked the temperature just now and it was at 75C. It said the threshold was at 105C...
This ad has been hitting the web today... and I'm sure its gonna poke the fires.... with lines like "I'm not cool enough for a Mac".
However I will have to hand it to MS, this is a much improved advertising campaign compared to the seinfeld/gates thingo last year. And I reckon it will work, esp with the current state of the economy.
The reality is Apple doesn't play in the budget computer market... (just like sony, alienware, voodoo etc), & I don't think there is anyway they can compete in that market successfully. So its always gonna cost more for a Mac.
As it is much more difficult to place a $ value on the less tangible things like personal preference, weight, size & design, the debate will for ever rage over the "value" or "apple tax".
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that people get the computer they want and that it does what they need... doesn't matter if its a pc or mac.
But I doubt this will stop those on either side of the fence from hurling abuse... and to those people let it begin!
I have wiped off the acer windows xp and have clean installed windows vista home basic, i can not burn any cd/dvds i get the following error when using windows to burn a disc or media player:
There was a problem burning the discThere was an error burning the disc. The disc might no longer be usable.I have been to microsoft help and acersupport.com.au and they both have problems relating to the issue but no fixes for example over at [url] has the problem but i dont believe i ever had acer eLock so that can't be the problem and over at microsoft it says about having "$" in the file name and that is not the problem, is anyone able to shed some light on the situation,
Lately my laptop would freeze and I could see faint white lines only at the top of my screen. (lines do not go all the way down) This has happened twice in a day. Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work so I have to power down the system and it runs normal after that.
I'm really afraid its the dreaded vertical lines issues. I had my mobo + GPU replaced a year ago, still under CC warranty but its such a pain.
I am wondering if anyone know whether dell fixed the video card and heating issues (like many in this forum mentioned) yet?
I am very interested in this machine but I don't want to risk buying something that would burn out later. I am also interested in the new studio XPS 13 as well though I would love to know how it handles heat and the video card (i hate burned-out video cards..
i have been having problems with my xps m1330 ive had it for 3 years now and its been decent to me... 3 months ago when my warranty was up i sent it in to get the gpu and mother board replaced because of the warranty. Just recently it started acting up bad...
Would freeze left and right start running check disk when i tried to restart it...so i decided to reformat it seeing some scan i ran in dos was saying i was missing a system file. So i cleared the c drive and installed vista fresh... re-put my 60gb of music over and everything seemed fine for 2 days... not today it froze up on me ... i tried to restart and got a blue screen that flashed to fast to read and i tried to restart again and got a 2000-0141 error and alot of beeping and crap... so i restarted it and it was gone...
I've had my M1330 for about 1 1/2 yrs now. The first issue is that at one point 3 months ago,
I was being randomly electrocuted by my laptop when I placed my hand on the open space below the keyboard. About a few days after the random electrocution started, the battery died, and won't recharge at all.
Lastly, there is a constant whistling sound that was coming from the laptop ever since I bought it.
I'm out of warranty. Am I able to buy a new warranty for my laptop at this time or is it too late for me? And if it is too late, should I attempt to make repairs through Dell, or am I better off selling the laptop,
and then use the cash towards a lower pc, like those mini/EPC's that these companies are selling now?
Does anyone know if I can install 8 GB of RAM in my M1330? I now have 4 GB, but when upgrading to 64-bit I'd also like to add some memory.
I bought the computer in August 2008, and have the latest bios.
I think 800 MHz is the max speed I can use, does anyone know about any modules that will fit, if possible
First of all thanks to everyone who contributes on this board. The knowledge I gained is invaluable.
I upgraded from a T5800 dded Arctic Silver 5.
