I got my m1330 used with 1 light of battery health lit. I've been using it fairly for a month. One time I noticed I got only about 1 hour on battery power.
I don't know... i'm having serious problems with this notebook. It was very slow because got really hot until I upgraded it to A15 where it somehow works... What should be done for me to request a replacement?....

I own a Vaio Z VGN-Z555DN
The internel cable that connects the motherboard to the keyboard and the mousepad got worn off. I have mistakenly damaged it while cleaning my laptop from dust.
Is there an online store that sells that cable so I could fix it my self?

I have an HP DV7 that keeps going through batteries. The newest battery worked for a few weeks and then died last night. This is now the 2nd battery in roughly a month that has died on me. Why do the batteries keep going bad? When the computer is plugged in it works fine but when its unplugged it dies right away.

It's been since the DV6000t that I looked at battery & notebook technology.
From then I believed to cyccle the battery a couple times and store it out of the machine @ around 60%.
Is it still so? Will just plain leaving it in the machine all the time plugged in shorten the life or effciency? Or have things progressed?

Just was looking at Best Buy's ad this week and it shows on teh front page an HP DV5-1235DX that boasts a 6 3/4 hrs battery life. What makes the battery life so great on this?
All the components look similar to other notebooks.

The 6-cell lithium ion battery would only run it for about 10 minutes. I tried replacing all the lithium ion cells with new ones, made for cell phones, so I doubled them up.
Then, I just got blinking lights when pressing the battery circuit board 'test' button.
So I left it for a long time, several weeks.
Just picked up a complete battery conditioner, with a built-in balancer, normally about 100 bucks for 25.
So I disassembled it, but then probably waited too long (fell asleep) before rehooking up the old cells.
Figured out now I should have left everything alone from the beginning, done several drain and recharge cycles to recondition the cells, and would have had the pack like new.
Now I can charge the pack with the bench battery charger/conditioner/balancer, but the electronics seem 'dead' on the circuit board strip. The laptop thinks it's on AC power when it's on battery, and shows no sign of powering up the pack.
I'm thinking leaving the replacement cells out for too long, before I put the old cells charged, back in, made the circuit board 'forget'.

i've had my Envy 15 for over two months now and although i don't use it frequently enough my wife noticed that on a full charge, unplug then the next day or so the battery is drained.
Basically here is what she does:
she would charge the laptop up
unplug then use it for like 20 mins
shut down Start>>shutdown
CLose lid
About or two days later she would try to use it and the thing wont turn on. Plug in the brick and voila! thing comes up.
Is she not shutting down properly? or is there some program on sleep eating the battery?
Or is that the rate this battery drains?
this is still on the FACTORY image, i didnt rebuild it

I've a 2 year old 6720. The problem is that it is giving me a battery time of around 1 hour max ( a couple of min more maybe) while doing browsing, word, basic stuff.
I installed the HP battery checker software and it says that the health is good, dunno how accurate the app is but thats what it said.
A bit of history, I've been using the notebook 90% of the the time plugged in, and powered on about 15-24 hours a day.
So, time to change the battery? or anything can be done to improve the times?

I got my hp dv6 last Monday, so it's quite new. About three days ago I downloaded System Information for Windows trying to find out which was my GPU temp(what I didn't find, it only shows only HDD and CPU temp) and looking other stuff I noticed that my battery wear off was 7% while the battery is(was?) also new, so it got me preoccupied, so I checked it again yesterday and it was 9%!, I checked today and it's at 10% . Just c'mon I don't dedicate all my free time to plug and unplug the battery ,so why the fcuk(note there's no grammatical error) it wears off so quickly,

I have been trying to calibrate my HP (DV2700) battery. It would drop from 40% down to 6% and put the computer into standby mode. If I were to turn it back on, it would drain down to 0% and run for another 30 minutes before it powers off.
After that I would give the battery a full charge. I have tried to charge it while the computer was in sleep mode, and while it was on.
It doesn't help that RMclock reports the remaining capacity as like 21mWh remaining when its at the "0%" mark. I do switch between 3 batteries so not sure if that does anything negatively.
(Yes I am well aware that draining it is bad and calibration is not always necessary)

looking at purchasing one from futureshop, getting a decent discount, it has the i7 6gb of ram, 4830 graphics. It comes with both 6 cell and 9 cell, my question is, that is there anyway for me to get 3 hours from the 6 cell battery, with just office and wifi. Is there a way to underclock the processor a lot to do this, disable cores temporarily

Its starting to get annoying, only being able to see the Percentage and not the remaining time. Is there a way to make it display the Battery life time? You all know what i'm talking about -- like in Dell laptops, they say
"99% 3 hours 10 minutes remaining"
is there a way to make my DV7T show the time left?

Can a HP Compaq NX6320 be operated without the battery. Trying to isolate whether the notebook has battery issues or power issues. When power on switch is pressed, With AC plugged in, the lighting indicator ( assume for charging) blinks three times and that all folks, not power. Of course if the battery in not plugged in, not even the lighting indicator works.

Now I haven't used my notebook on battery very often but judging by reviews and battery use here and there I do believe HP could've done better with designing their battery. I mean they can achieve up to 24 hrs with an elitebook (given its like a battery slice plus sticks out in the back) but don't even get close to a proper battery usage time with the standard battery. I've read reviews where the battery runs about 2hrs on battery and even some around just an hour, and that really is sad. I know the MacBook Pro was able to get about 7-8 hours out of a thin-n-light(given crappy hardware) so I know hp has the resources and capability to make this new battery. At least bring it out by the time the next gen Envys will come out and make sure these batteries will be backwards compatible with older Envys as well. Besides the battery life and locked multiplier I love my Envy

I recently purchased a dv4-1275mx special edition, and would like to calibrate the battery. The battery is suppose to last up to 6 hours (I'm expecting about 4-4.5). Does it screw up the calibration if I am using it while letting the battery run down. I have the screen turn off disabled and the sleep disabled, but I am using a screen saver.

i have a HP DV9623cl and it will only run off the battery. When the adapter is plugged in Vista recognizes it and will display that it is charging. But as time goes on the battery runs out and the laptop turns off. It will not even turn on when plugged in.
Things i have check;
i have taken it apart and see no signs of damage anywhere near the power connector or the battery.
i have tried swapping out the power connector board with no success.
swapped power adapters.
swapped batteries.
updated the bios to the newest version.
Ran a linux live cd to see if it was windows.

My dv5t won't take a charge. The charge indicator light does not come on and the battery charge indicator graphic in windows doesn't show it is charging (plus the AC adapter isn't getting warm). My laptop is now out of charge and I have no way to use it. I think the connector at the PC end might be loose or something, but perhaps it is just the AC charge adapter.
The reason I say the conenctor at the laptop end might be loose it because I can wiggle the charging plug around in the socket quite a bit when it is plugged into the laptop power socket (the round socket at the rear of the right side). Sometimes the charge plug has weight on it when in my lap since the darn things sticks out so much, and I am wondering if I have caused the socket to malfunction internally (loose lead or something?).

My battery will not charge even though I just got it about 2-3 months ago from HP while my laptop was still under warranty. When I hover over the battery status it tells me 0% available (plugged in, charging) but no matter what I do it won't charge. I've tried charging this battery on my other dv5t with a different AC adapter, but the same thing is happening. Are there any tricks or anything that I can do? This is a new battery and for it to die after 2-3 months just doesn't make sense. HP battery check tells me the battery health is Good.

I just recently bought a 12-Cell battery for my DV2730.
My original 6-Cell battery fails to charge anymore so my laptop would not power up just on battery power.
I'd like to know more on how to take better care for my new battery, and so my question is; does HP laptop, cuts off charging when battery is already full? Because i noticed that the "charge/lightning LED" does not stay ON anymore when battery is full. Is this a correct indicator? Or should i remove my battery when running on external power?

Following the excellent flipfire's undervolting guide and inspired by Silvr6's experience with undervolting his dv2, I decided to give it a try and...I was able to increase the battery lifetime from almost shameful 2h 25 minutes to 3h 30 minutes for mpeg 2 play, or even to 4h 20 minutes (light browsing and lots of reading). So, you get at least 25-30% more battery lifetime. This makes me like my dv2 a lot more!
Perhaps, it's the noted AMD's tendency to overvolt their CPUs, perhaps something else, but I was able to get the following 100% stable (in my case) voltages:
4.0x-0.6875 V
4.5x-0.7125 V
5.0x-0.7250 V
5.5x-0.7500 V
6.0x-0.7750 V
6.5x-0.8000 V
7.0x-0.8000 V (yes, it’s 0.8V again)
7.5x-0.8250 V
8.0x-8.5000 V
these voltages are stable for my particular CPU; yours might be slightly lower or higher. For example, Slvr6 was able to get a bit lower with 4x – 0.675 V. Read the undervolting guide!
But I hope that the table above will encourage you to try the undervolting (btw, unlike the overclocking it’s 100% safe), since the benefits for dv2 and AMD’s “neo” are so dramatic!...........

Ive installed 7 on it to see if an os change would help but its the same as the factory os .
Im not sure if this is just a simple dud battery or a problem with the laptop .
