I just bought this laptop from staples. I did a clean vista install and installed all drivers from hps site. The only one listed not installed in device manager is a network driver.
View 3 RepliesMy first month with this brand new notebook was problems it gave me a blue screen and shut down on me. I thought it was normal being that it was my very first notebook. My hp pavilion notebook is only 3 years old but it now it has a blinking caps light and a orange light on the wireless key. I have tried to hard reset it but nothing works. I was use to it shutting down on me and restarting again but this time it would not come back on. I call Hp tech and now I'm being told this computer is obsolete and can't be fixed.

I have a HP Pavilion G7 notebook. The model is 1219-wm.
I recently did a clean re-install of Windows 7 ultimate from a CD. After I did the re-install, the wireless orange light stays on and will not turn to white/blue.
I have tried to download and install drivers from the hp website. NOTHING seems to work. I even tried to download the HP Wireless Assistant Support Wizard, but it doesn't work. It keeps saying that the Wireless Assistant is not compatible with my model.
Every time I troubleshoot, I keep getting the following message "Install a driver for your network adapter"....
I can't find the wireless driver anywhere for it. what the type of wireless card it is?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I did a format to a hp ... PC notebook HP Pavilion g6-1381sp ... And after installing windows 7 64bit no wireless connection was visible, it didn't recognize my wireless network.
I tried installing the drivers in the official website for network controllers and after that the problem persisted. Also to note, the wifi light remains orange.
Suddenly I can't turn the wirelss key from orange. I tried to use "windows mobility" as suggested on several forums but there is no such "tile" when I invoke it.

I sometimes try to connect to a network, then the wireless led suddenly orange although Wireless is Enabled. My friend who has an XP system can connect to that network in the cafe just fine so does everybody else, but on my system, it says connecting, then the icon turns orange as if there was no wirelesss card installed.
I am using the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN v12.2.0.11 Driver which was installed through Windows Update along with HP Wireless Assistant v3.50.2.1
Now I have an orange icon for wireless, although wireless is enabled in both device manager and through the touch key.
the icon will turn blue if I restart and wireless access will be restored, but I will lose it again if I try to connect to a wireless network.
i own a dv5t and today when i went to close the lid the hard disk light turned ORANGE. is this bad?

I have re-started my laptop and checked the settings but i keep getting the same message telling me to turn the wireless on. The F12 is orange and remains orange and will not turn on or change colour.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt first the power light was blue, and when I plugged it in the light around the power cord would light up, now its not doing that, and when I press the power button a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and that is it. I bought this in a really big hurry, because I do school online. I do own and Alienware, and it was having network problems. So I found a guy who had this computer, and he turn it on for me, the power light was blue, he told me that it hadnt been plugged in in a while. He gave me a 90 day warranty, along with the charger. I brought it home set it on the desk and plugged it in. Left it on the charger for about 9 hours. Pressed the power button, a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and thats it. My question is, is this savable? It could be a battery or it could be the charger. Those parts are not expensive, and I know a friend who could really use a laptop. Or should I sell it for parts..

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Dell XPS M140 has a power light on the bezel that blinks orange very rapidly. This usually happens when I leave the charger on the wall over night or for long periods of time.
However, when I take the battery out and push the button the battery itself, there are 5 green lights, so I assume all is fine, but what is with the orange flashing light on the bezel?
I have a XPS14Z Laptop, great machine, the LED light started to blink orange 4 times then white, I figured it needed a replacement battery, so I ordered a genuine replacement battery and replaced it and to my horror its doing the same thing. the battery indicator on taskbar says plugged in, not charging , the battery level doesn't change.

At first the LED light would blink orange a few times when the laptop was switched on, but nothing else happened. Then it might just start up, and while booting up the battery light would blink and it would switch off .
I did try removing the battery etc. to discharge of the mainboard as advised, but no difference. I have tried other sockets, same result. I have now left it unplugged for a few days and there is not even the orange light any more.
My mute button is Orange & i can't get it to go back to green or blue when i touch it I get no sound at all On the bottom right corner where it shows the volume when i touch the mute botton it shows mute then on but orange mute button dont change back to blue or green in color so volume will work
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just last week bought an Hp G60-230US at Office Depot. Had them install Microsoft Office and clean up my computer. When I got home and tried to make a recovery disc, I keep getting a message that says "this computer does not have a drive capable of creating cd's or dvd's. Contact HP" I did this, and they tried to tell me it was the type of dvd I was trying to use (Maxell). I know Hp's can be touchy, but I don't think the type of disc would give me that type of error. Hp said they could send me a copy of the recovery discs. But my concern is with that message. Am I doing something wrong, or is my computer messed up? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I plan on calling Hp tonight, and possibly calling Office Depot to see if they did something bad to my computer when they "cleaned it up".

I have updated BIOS, run PSA Diagnostics and Dell PC Diagnostics and nothing appears to be bad. But the problem is still here.
One of my users brought me this issue the other day. He is using a Latitude D830 laptop with a D/port docking station. With or without the laptop docked, The power button on the docking station flashes Orange and Green when powered. I've swapped power bricks for the dock. The laptop still seems to charge while being docked. After swapping the dock, the new dock is fine.
What might be causing it? Is the dock dead? Could it be a failed port on the docking station?
I tried all the (disable and enable, hard reset, and uninstall driver) solutions on the thread given, but still doesn't work. Here is a screen shot of my adapter and driver version I updated to the latest version and rolled it back and still no luck. I don't want to reseat the adapter until its my last resort.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
I have an HP 2000 laptop and all of a sudden the wireless function will not work. no matter what I do the button stays orange. I do not have Wireless Assistant installed on this computer. I tried to download it from another computer and install to mine, but it stated that the version was not accepted. I have only had this computer 6 months.

The wireless switch at the bottom left corner does not seem to work; when I move it to the ON position, the LED does not light up green to say that it is working. In the Device Manager, the wireless device does show up, and I can disable/enable it, and it indicates that the wireless card is still functioning. Under network connections, the network connection does show up, but it cannot detect any wireless networks. My other devices can pick up the wireless signals.

View 8 Replies View RelatedOkay so my first question is this: Right now my wireless light is on showing that it's wireless, but if I close my laptop, or if it goes to sleep, and then I go back onto my laptop the wireless stops working and the light is off and it won't go on when I move the switch. I have a Aspire 5590
My second question is: I've hooked up a second monitor to my laptop I checked the settings and it works like this, if I move my mouse to the right and keep going, my mouse appears on the second screen. How can I make it so that the start menu and everything goes from the first to the second screen that way I can close my laptop, cause if I close my laptop screen it disables the second screen also/
