View 1 RepliesI was happily connecting to my home wifi yesterday evening before my HP Pavilion g7 notebook updated to windows 8.1. Now I can only connect via ethernet cable.
I phoned Microsoft Support and was told that my wifi driver was out of date and that this needs to reinstalled. I have had a look at available downloads for network drivers but I am unsure how to establish which one I need.... there are 4 options.
Under Device Manager > Network Adapters, there was only one driver which needed update according to this. The Realtek PCle FE Family Controller. When I checked for updates here is said that it had updated successfully, but I am STILL unable to connect to the internet.

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....
i own a Pavilion dv7-6c90el that i updated at windows 8 two weeks ago. Every week a problem occure: my pc can't connect to any wifi, and i can't disable the wifi card, it doesn't respond, so i have to switch off many times the pc until it begins to work again (after many times you can enter in connection menu and disable the card and then switch on it other time and then works). i suppose is a driver problem (with windows 7 this problem never appeared).

After using it for a week, I noticed that it doesn't connect automatically to wifi, and sometimes you have to wait a little longer (probably an hour) for it to connect successfully to a wifi. And if ever it gets connected, the internet access says "limited". I brought it to a servcie center, they changed the wifi card, and then I guess after using it for more than a week, the same problem occured. This is a big inconvenience on my part.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned on my computer this morning after a Windows update and it wouldn't allow me to connect to my wifi. Initially it said that I was manually connected to an old network but I deleted that and tried to manually connect to my home network but no luck. I worked through all the trouble shooting options and checked to see if the driver was up to date (it was) - all without success. My computer allows me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet wi-fi with my iPad. Here are some specifics:

When I look at the Driver details it appears it is a 32system driver whereas I believe I am running a 64 bit operating system( but I might be misreading this as I don't know a lot about these things).
I have tried all the options in your post and still I'm unable to connect to WiFi with WPA2-PSK encryption. Currently I'm using the driver atheros 5007 WiFi network adaptor.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the Pavilion G6 2342dx running Windows 8. Yesterday, I used HP's support assistant to perform a few recommended driver updates. Among the things updated was the Qualcomm Atheros Wifi device driver and the HP wireless button driver. Wifi device installed was 10...222, from 10....212.
After the update, my laptop is unable to detect any wifi networks. It just shows "No networks found." I also noticed that the wifi button light (on F12) is always white whether or not I activate flight mode or not. I get an on-screen message alright about airplane mode status changing. However, it does not appear to be actually turning on/off the wifi because from the sidebar, it looks like wifi is on but with the "No networks found" message persisting. Also, the wifi icon on the status bar remains grayed out with an red x on it.
I have tried disabling and enabling the adaptor with no success. I have tried downloading and reinstalling the driver (10...212) with no luck. I even tried disabling, uninstalling and reinstalling the device from device manager. System restore fails everytime I try it. Interestingly, the latest driver on HP support website is the 212, no mention of the 222 driver.
My HP Envy m6 laptop cannot connect to our wifi connection and only connects using the cable connection, ethernet.
It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. Now, my laptop does not access wifi nor detect any wireless connection whether our home wifi, or others.

The Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 worked on windows 7, but fails on windows 8.1. Tried to find the driver on the broadcom but not found. Device Manager indicates only problem with a PCI device. Problems with the Wi-Fi adapter does not specify.
My Bluetooth is not working since I update to Windows 8.1. I tried everything. Not working. Driver error. I test through a driver scanner. It days I needed Ralink Bluetooth PCIe Adapter version 2.9.27.0 .. Where can I get it?

I have recently reformatted my HP 15-g029ca Notebook PC and installed Windows 7 64-Bit. However, it seems that I am missing some of the drivers as several functions of the laptop are not working (Wifi, USB etc.).

This is regarding hp 15-r007tx..I cant connect to the WiFi network . I can only use wired connection. Also the wifi button is permanently off(orange colour). No matter how many times I press its the same and wont detect wifi. Is it hardware or driver problem.

I already installed Windows 8.1 64-bits on my laptop and the Wifi Card wasn't already installed. I tried to download the Wifi Card driver and I found 3 drivers :

so basically I reinstalled windows 7 Home Premium x64 Operating System and it seems that some drivers are missing. I bought a new hard disk and 4 G of ram..I installed them and the laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-2137sl , Intel Core i5 CPU m430 , 2.27 GHz with 6 G of ram now.When I looked at the Device Manager. I tried to install a driver, the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Driver but after the installation it gives me the next message : The Realtek Network Controller was not found.If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.

I updated all drivers and everything else works perfect except for that I cannot connect to any wireless network. No matter how close I am to a network the computer does not recognize it.
Then I finally noticed the wireless button on the keyboard being red and no matter what I do, I cannot get it to go off.
Also just noticed in Device managers a few "!" next to some items

I am using HP Compaq 15 a00t2u, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I'm not able to connect to the internet via WiFi. Everytime I connect, it says,"no network access." There's a yellow triangle over the WiFi icon. Windows diagonsed it but failed to correct it. A message appears " Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP address. At times, it fixes the issue but within seconds, the problem again hops up.I am able to connect my mobile and other devices via same router. Also, when I switch on my mobile's Wifi Tethering, laptop connects to the network easily without any issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Pavilion G6 with Windows 7 OS that is used as a mobile data terminal. I am trying to use my Verizon iPhone 5c to connect to as a hotspot. All of my other HP laptops connect to this phone with no problem, but the G6 will not connect to the internet through the phone with cable, wifi or bluetooth. The G6 recognizes the phone and shows it in "unspecified devices". I have tried everything to get it to connect without success.
