Sep 9, 2014I have recently downgraded the OS on my laptop to Windows 7 from 8, and I am having difficulty finding drivers for the following items:
PCI Device
SM Bus Controller
USB COntroller
USB Controller
I have searched the HP support section, but all that is offered are Windows 8 drivers. I have updated the BIOS to the most recent version, but still no work. I am sure there are drivers out there that work.

Jul 25, 2013We have purchased an HP Pavilion G6 2300st to our parents with Windows 8 installed. Unfortunately, they are having diffuculties to use Windows 8. So I thought that we need to downgrade to the windows 7.
I tried to install Windows 7 last night and I wasn't be able to do so because of Legacy Support and UEFI etc.
After that, little search on the web and I think I will be able to install windows 7 now. However, when I was searching on the web I realized there are many people have the same problem includign drivers problems. Then I find out that G6 2300st does not have W7 drivers.

Now here is the question; Can I use the same drivers that stated in those posts?

May 3, 2009I never got around to installing the Windows 7 beta image, but now I have no idea where I saved it on my MacBook Pro. I definitely did download it. What were the names for the 64-bit downloader (I forget if there was a downloader or how I downloaded it, it was official from Microsoft's site, though) and the 64-bit Windows 7 image? It'd be good to clear up a few GBs from my HD.

Sep 23, 2013I recently downgraded my HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11-e015dx Notebook from Windows 8 to Windows 7. Only Windows 8 drivers are listed under the support page, but they all seemed to install and work just fine. The only problem is that my right two USB 2.0 ports don't work after Windows loads up. There aren't any drivers under the support page and Windows Update can't find them, nor can several driver update programs - It's just listed as an unknown Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller under the Device Manager.

Apr 21, 2014Recently purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n248sa. It came with windows8, which I've done a fresh install to windows 7 (formatting HDD etc).
Managed to get some of the drivers for this from the HP or intel site. But there seems to be no source of two other drivers that are still to be installed. The USB 2.0 drivers (no usb ports will work). And also the ethernet drivers.
I'm VERY disappointed with the support HP has provided towards this laptop for windows 7, even though it's clearly stated it is ready to run it. Genuinely shocked that all the driver support on the page for this laptop includes only 1/3 of the required drivers for this system!
I've seen the solution of looking up the motherboard within the laptop, and then looking up drivers for laptops using that model, but I'm not quite to sure of where to look that up.
