Lenovo G40-70 B / G Series :: How To Turn WIFI On Windows 7 32bit OS
Oct 16, 2014
i just bought G40-70 using Windows 7 (32bit) a week ago. the wifi was working fine and then suddenly it stop working at all. Troubleshooting said it is turned off and must be turn on manually (by hardware switch or software/hotkey) There are neither of them available in G40-70 Tried the solutions at [URL]
I am having trouble with my wireless button, it remains red/orange despite touching it and restarting my laptop several times. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7=1135NR, it is originally installed with Windows Vista 64bit. However, i have it reformatted and change the OS to Windows7 Ultimate (32bit). And now i the wireless button wont turn blue. And also the wireless button located in the taskbar is no longer there.
Some additional background: The same problem (wireless wont turn blue) had been recurring before i had it reformatted but then i seek assistance then to HP customer assistant, and installed atheros. the problem had fixed for a while and the same problem would recur. However, i can turn it blue once i restart the laptop or when the "WLAN disabled" message would appear in the task bar and i would immediately touch the wireless button.
i tried downloading a driver from HP but still not working. right now i am connected via ethernet cable and its such an incovenience.
After doing a fresh install of windows 7 Professional 32Bit, my wifi drivers did not install, i have tried numerous drivers of the website for my laptop and they don't work, ive tried many things but cant seem to find the right drivers, my laptop is a HP Elitebook 2530p, can find the correct drivers for my wifi Card?
I am having trouble with my wifi and bluetooth not working, it is (off) and is greyed out in the metro interface, so i can not turn it back on, i checked networking centre and it is enabled, i have tried to reformat the computer using lenovo "one key" and the problem is still there, i tried updating the driver but no joy, and i can find one by searching, I dont want to have to send this back as faulty to "john lewis" also the trouble shooter says the HW switch is not enabled, i have tried the airplane button, but it does not make any diference, there are no other buttons or switches to turn on bluetooth or wifi so i'm stumped.
I use a high resolution monitor; therefore, I use display scaling. But for many programs I prefer to turn it off since the display quality is better. For 32-bit programs there is no problem with this: open program properties, then, Compatibility => Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. However, when I try to do this for a 64-bit program, I find that the corresponding check box is disabled.
I just did a fresh install of Windows 8 on my Lenovo G475 and everything works fine but my wifi connection. This is what I have done so far: I...
- Installed Windows 8 and kept the laptop connected to the Internet via the ethernet card (to make sure all the installation process went smoothly). - Updated Windows 8 via Windows Update. - Downloaded missing drivers for Windows 8. They were: Realtek Card Reader Driver, Lenovo Energy Management and Wireless LAN driver. - Installed all of them with administrator privileges and all of them went fine but the wireless LAN driver. - At this point, Device Manager didn't show any device with a "?" so I assumed everything was fine. - But no, because no wifi interface showed up in the device manager window. - If i change the position of the wireless physical switch (at the front of my laptop, on my left), the bluetooth device goes off and on in the device manager window. But in no case, any wifi interface appeared / dissappeared. - I also typed fn+f5 several times to toggle airplane on/off but did not work at all. - Then I installed Windows 7 driver for the wireless card but didn't work either. - I revised the BIOS and the wifi interface is activated.
It looks like the wifi component of the wireless card is hidden/undetected to Windows 8 (bluetooth works fine. I assume both wifi+bluetooth belongs to the same card).
My three week old X230 lost the ability to connect to my wifi router. I can pull up the airplane mode toggle with Fn+F5, but there is no response. I have done a factory reset, installed all Lenovo and Windows updates, uninstalled/reinstalled the intel wifi drivers. The lenovo utilities tells me the radio isn't turned on, but I can't figure out how to turn it on other than the usual ways, but they don't work. All is well in the hardware manager. I have reset the bios to default settings. I updated the bios to 2.06 when I first got the machine, and it ran fine. I can connect via a network cable.
I have a x201 cto using 64bits Win 7. The wireless adapter is intel advanced-N 6200. However, I found my wireless always turn off suddenly and I can not turn it on anymore (even using Fn+F5) until reboot.
I installed drivers for GeForce and Nvidia, but when i try to play e.g . Battelfield 4 then laptop use only one graphic card (GeForce 755). How could i turn on second card during the game ??
i've got a Lenovo G580 which I've had a for a little while now. It was working OK on Saturday but I tried it this morning but it wont turn on. I've tried a different power supply and I've tried it with and without the battery. When I plug the charger in the the batter light comes on but when I press the power button nothing happens.
How do i turn SLI mode on my dual graphics GT750M on the Y510p laptop. GPU-Z says SLI is disabled. Can't seem to find a place to turn it on Nvidia control panel either. Device Manager does show 2 GT750m working right.
I bought a y510p ideapad from newegg a couple days ago and recently got it. i've been trying to set it up and all that, trying to get rid of the programs that came preloaded with the laptop because I wouldn't think i'd need them. I then shut it, put it down and opened it again and now it won't turn on. It seems like both the power indicator and the battery indicator light are both on, as well as the power button light, but the monitor itself is blank and i can't hear the computer being on. I've tried holding down the power button and resetting it, as well as removing the battery and using only the AC to see if it would turn on but to no avail. I'm worried i might have deleted something important, but I was mostly deleting programs related to shoddy media players and other services of the like. It's pretty upsetting I just got this laptop and it's already died on me!
I bought my Lenovo Y40 on the Lenovo Web site a couple months ago and recently, to turn on, I have to press the power button twice. When I press just once, the Lenovo`s logo is displayed on the screen, but after 2 seconds everything turns off. On the second trying, finally the laptop turns on and the windows is started.
In addition, rarely the laptop stucks on the lenovo`s logo screen, being necessary to hold on the power to reset it.
I recently purchased a Lenovo X1 carbon, the weird thing is that the computer functions correctly when the power cord is plugged but when the power cord is unplugged the computer DOES NOT turn off no matter what you do. It restarts all the time. If you plug the power cord you can turn off your computer, but when you unplug it it starts working immediately?
In any case pushed the reset button on the back of the laptop but it didn't worked.
I've used my x100e today to take a measurement via LAN-port with a camera. I left the room to do some other staff and when I cam back the screen was filled with a horizontal black-darkgrey line pattern. I switched the x100e off by holding the power button for 4 seconds.
If i switch it on again, the power light shines, the fan is blowing and the hard disk is spinning, but the screen stays dark and there's no power beep or something like that. I also tried another power pack and with the battery inserted, it's always the same problem.
Seems like this problem already appeared. So what can I do? Approximately how much would the repair be?
I re-installed my Z570 after Two years. I got "No supported Intel wireless network adaptor found" My Z570 is 1024AYU type, WiFi Link 1000 BGN, Win7 Ultimate 64bit.
All Lenovo drivers were loaded according Lenovo driver matrix (Including PM).
Radio switch is on. Bios wireless is enabled, service WLAN AutoConfig is running in Auto mode.
Fn+F5 shows only Bluetooth, WiFi line is missing.
Under Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN driver (Device Manager) there is Yellow exclamation mark that stats "This device cannot be started"....
I've just added an m-sata drive and installed my windows 8.1 there. After that i can't switch my wifi on!The option is grey and i can't switch it on!
I've tried:
1.re-istalling the wifi driver, nothing happend, 2.install an older version (6.0.2) of energy management, nothing happend 3.putting back my old drive (with my previously working fine windows), nothing changed 4. bios reset, and again nothing happend!
I have a problem with a G550 laptop, running windows 7. No matter what I do, wifi will not work. When the manual switch is set to wifi on and i press fn+f5, nothing happens. The wifi card is recognized in windows, i have the latest drivers from lenovo support page and so on. I have tried literary everything, including windows reinstall and still nothing. When I run windows diagnostics it also says "wifi options (or something like that) are not enabled" and i tried with readycomm which says the same thing.
I've have had a Lenovo g500s running windows 8.1 for almost a year and never had an major issue. But recently I have found that it will not turn on. I have found that by taking out and putting the battery back in will rarely result in the battery light blinking in red. If i try to turn it on at this point it will turn for a few second "prepare for automatic repairs" and then in a few seconds turn back off its original turned off state. I have tried "Flee-Power" while calling technical support and it made a small noise and then issued a burning smell. It's 1 year warranty is still valid.
I usually just leave my laptop on overnight, and it just goes to sleep/hibernation mode then. But when i went to go turn on my laptop, you can see the lights on my laptop turn on but the screen stayed black.
What could have possibly happened?/what can i do to fix it
I pressed the power button and the light came up for about 5 seconds. Then it's gone. Nothing came up on the screen. Cpu fan did not work and keyboard light did not turn on. I tried holding the power button for seconds. I tried turning on with ac adaptor only. I tried taking the RAM out and then turned it on. Nothing works...
I am a Thai student studying in Okinawa, Japan. So now I am just so nervous because I wont have a computer to work on.
I have a recently gotten my Lenovo g510, with a synaptics touchpad. My problem is that when I write, I can't move my pointer at the same time. It's like when I type my touchpad gets disabled, and when I stop the typing it enables again. I've seen some places that it's just to turn of/on palmcheck? But I can't find it in my settings. It looks like my menu is more up to date than the others, and therefore they have more detailed menus, but mine is pretty simple.
I will add a picture of my menu, when I go to my mouse settings, and then the settings for the synaptics.

This is the picture most of the people refere to, but I don't have that menu ...
I just bought a new U310 , the system is good as of now , but only issue which is bothering me is that it has a week wifi signal Is there any way to boost up the wifi signal.
I have Lenovo G505 (59-380146) (APU Quad Core A10-5750 2.5 Ghz/ 6GB Ram) Windows 7 x64. Upgraded my HDD to SSD (Sandisk SDSSDHP256G FW:X2316RL).
System become rapid speed, windows boots in 8-10secs, HD tune transfer rate is between 357.3 and 409.6 MB/sec, simply everything just went perfect except Internet speed... With old HDD it used to be around 36-40Mbps, with SSD its now only around 11-13Mbps... My wireless card is Atheros AR956x. Drivers are up to date and downloaded from Lenovo support website. Tried old HDD - wifi works perfect.
