I'm configuring a FW390 CTO and mainly stuck on the processor speed.
The new P8700 at 2.53GHz or T9800 at 2.93.
I have a FW and I read the topic about VT which don't support FW series. When I look intel's page I saw that my processor ,core 2 duo p8700, supports Intel VT. how can I activate?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI haven't seen anyone choose the T9800 option for the laptop yet, and I'm a bit confused seeing as it's the fastest processor? Also, what is the different between the P and T series? Which is better? And if I get the T9800, will my laptop be very hot? Honestly, the only games I plan on playing is Starcraft 2, and diablo 3, would the ati graphics hold up?

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust read some info online that the P8700 can run Windows 64 bit but is not built on a 64 bit architecture! Is this true b/c if so, I will switch my SXPS config to the T9550.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it worth the extra $125?..........Is it worth it regardless of price being that one is a P and the other is a T?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am wondering which Processor to go with the P8700 or T9550. I have read up on the about the difference about the Watt and the Cache. I am wondering how big of a difference it is ....
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of buying a new Dell Studio XPS 16 and have the spec finalized with the exception of the CPU selection of either the T9550 or the P8770.
I am looking to future proof my laptop as much as possible for the next 5 years, and am looking for the best blend of performance, versatility, battery life and heat management.
I have read some reviews about the XPS 16 generating excess heat and want to avoid as much as possible. Here is my spec: XPS 16, 1080 RGB LED screen, 256 SDD drive, Win Vista Home Prem 64bit, 4GB DDR3, ATI Radeon 3670 w/512mb, Blueray DVD ....
I am pretty much a computer newbie, but i do know that a centrino2 technology is a necessary thingy for laptop
Anyways, i recently purchased studio 1555 with the following specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53ghz
4gb ram
512 radeon HD4570
250gb harddrive with 7200rpm
vista home premium 64 bit
I was wondering why my CPU would go over its factory clock speed when i didn't even overclock it its kinda weird this is what its getting
View 3 Replies View Relatedhey im looking now for a xps 13'' and i dont know what taken between the 2.53 p8700 or the 2.66 p8800 i saw a couple of benchmark but it doesnt mean anything to me ...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm in love with the computer but it seems to be lacking a bit in speed. I usually use my desktop that has a Q6600 along with 4 GB of RAM. I do use this frequently though while on the road and while it's fairly quick I notice that it gets a bit bogged down at times. It currently has a T4200 along with 2 GB of RAM. As with all of my new computers I formatted it it upon delivery with Windows XP Pro SP3 so it's not a matter of bloatware and such. Is it worth it to upgrade the processor? Would bit be a significant difference in speed? If so could you please suggest a processor that would be the best bang of the buck? I stated the P8700 because it's the fastest processor that Dell offers but if there's something better please don't hesitate to offer a suggestion.

I really don't care about the new i7's that are coming out, because I planning to get one sometime next year when they reach at a least 2.0GHz and at an affordable cost.

View 6 Replies View Relatedhaving a hard time deciding between these two. I think in the end it'll come down to which screen size I like better.
But anyway, I was reading the review on the CS here and it says the battery lasted just under 4 hours but there's a higher capacity battery.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI lose about 5~10% of my battery life in a 12 hour period after shutting down my computer and unplugging it from the wall.
Anyone else experiencing something similar? No one else has brought it up for this new Z so I was wondering if I'm just a minority (granted the laptop is new and not many people have it yet)
I am in Shanghai and went to demo a new Vaio Z at a local SonyStyle store with a 3.06GHz CPU and Dual SSDs raided. The unit had Vista 64bit and 8GB of RAM... surprisingly though, no BluRay just a DVD Burner... go figure...
I tried to have someone explain to me if the design of the Z was changed because on my Z (model VGG-Z27GN) internally there is only space for one 2.5" drive (and nothing else really).
If the new Z's can accommodate 2 HDs inside, some major internal redesign had to be made. Does anyone know if this is the case or if maybe Sony is using some sort of two 1.8" Drives instead that they RAID together
I just got mine in the mail today. It says online that it's built in but I don't know how to access or find it (I got CTO without WWAN, and pro w/fresh start)?

I'm going to buy a FW-390 tomorrow morning and I want to know if the Full HD Screen is necessary or not.
I have heard that the X-Brite Eco's back lighting is uneven so some parts of the screen are dimmer than others which is simply unacceptable.
On the other hand I have heard complaints regarding the Full HD about the fonts being too small due to the resolution being too high on such a small screen ....
Just upgrade the RAM from 2GB to 4GB onto my VGN-SZ650N/C and after booting back to Windows XP SP3 only see it as 3GB but BIOS see it as 4G
