View 8 RepliesI found that my new Z does not come with motion eye camera driver, because my new Z was fresh start option. The Sony esupport website does not have the driver. My hardware manager does not even show the Images Device.
how to find the motion eye camera driver.
I know this is an older model. I had to replace the hard drive and do not have the recovery disks. Sony says no longer available. They have drivers and updates on the website but not original software.
I managed to load XP from a separate disk. I put on a number of items and drivers. Most everything seems to work except the camera. I have Network Smart Capture when I press the smart button it opens and the on light on the camera lights but no picture.
Do I need separate software and if so which one and where do I get it? Does anyone have the recovery disks?
I just bought a BZ-560 and I down graded to XP Pro.
Im trying to use the motion eye camera....I had to find the camera capture utility, ver. 2.1 and I loaded it but when I open it, it has a blue screen and says no input for both camera and video.
So when I go to control panel, printers and hardware and find the camera when I click on it the camera opens just fine and takes and saves pictures etc. but I want to get the video working.
Does anyone know how to make it work...I re-installed the driver still same thing. I looked on Sonys site under my model and have the latest driver...but its the camera utility thats the problem.
I have just purchased my lenovo ideapad s110 and installed windows 7 on it. Sales agent informed me that it should have a built-in camera with it.
To my surprise, i don't see a link for camera driver on it for windows 7. I tried to access the camera using yahoo messenger or skype but it did not detect it. is there something wrong with my unit? or the model doesn't come with a camera itself?
I bought my ThinkPad T530 laptop in August of this year and about a month ago I used the Lenovo ThinkVantage updater and it updated the driver for my web cam. Ever since then it has stopped working.
Whenever I open the web conferencing menu, it only shows options for the microphone, and nothing for the camera. I have tried hitting Fn+F6 and accessing it via other software e.g. Skype, Oovoo, Picasa. And they say that my webcam cannot be detected.
When I checked for the webcam in device managerĀ it said it was installed and working properly, and that the driver was up to date. I went to the lenovo website and downloaded the driver for the camera from there (g1ca16ww) and tried to update the driver manually hoping that that would fix the problem. Alas, it did not. I also checked the BIOS settings to make sure that the camera was enabled. It was.
So then I tried to reinstall the driver by uninstalling it, and using the driver I downloaded from the Lenovo website to reinstall. It installed properly, but now the webcam is no longer listed in the hardware manager and the dropdown for Imaging Devices, where it was located before, is no longer visible. I also rechecked the BIOS menu to make sure the camera was still listed there and it is. I do not know why it isn't working. I have also tried system restore and that didn't work either, the device still isn't listed. I don't want to have to wipe my computer.
Webcam has been working fine and this morning when I turn it on and I see black and green, the green is from the window behind me. The settings are at factory settings....
Also, this laptop is about two weeks old..and hasn't been dropped or slammed around to damage.
if anyone uses this program? I found it and actually like it as it gives me the ability to use the webcam for the IM chatting. Just wondered as I hear a lot about MSN Messenger, Adium, but haven't heard much about Mercury. Nope, don't have anything to do with the company, etc. but just wondered why there wasn't more said about this one...

My one is not working, but with the dell software I can use it and see myself :confusedOK.
Is there some configuration I'm missing cause all I see is black
I just bought the new Macbook Pro 13", its really nice, run boot camp XP smoothly, everything works out great. But there is only one problem, the audio come put of my live messenger sounds really funny, it sounds like slow down my speech and low my sound.
I always use live messenger to chat with my mom, today I use boot camp XP, my mom said she cannot uderstand what I'm saying, I'm a lady, but it sounds like a 40 years old male, really slow low, funny voice....I try to use the sound recorder in the Windows Xp, it sounds perfect. It also works perfect in Mac OS... but it just doesnot work in the MSN messenger.
What are some good laptop messenger bags/brand names for the Dell Xps 1530? My old targus backpack is a little too big to carry around my laptop comfortably for extended periods of time. It was built for a 17" laptop as well.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI've just started dealing with Mac OSX for the very first time, and I have some great problems getting the integrated iSight camera on my MacBook Pro 17" to work with the Microsoft Live Messenger protocol.
All I know uses Live Messenger 9.0, and I want to be able to chat AND having webcam sessions within Mac OSX.
Is this even possible? I've tried the new Microsoft Live Messenger 8.0 BETA for Mac OSX, which was supposed to be the very first official Microsoft client for OSX supporting webcam? But for me it doesn't work at all, no webcam..
My contacts doesn't even seem to get all my messages either, so it's obviously something very fishy going on with this client.
I also tried mercury, but couldn't get the cam-thing to work, not with the stable 1.9 or RC6 og 2.0, no matter what protocol I tried to use.
These are terrific little computers, with the brilliant LED screen, small size and light weight, DVD/CD recorder/player, 54mm slot for the Mogomouse,
slots for SD and Memory Stick, and a true five hour battery life. It is almost powerful enough to do mild graphics such as Google Sketchup, Irfanview, etc.
We have installed XP and removed everything unnecessary - hopefully without losing something important. Memory is max'd at 1.5GB. The processor is a U1500 single-core, at 1.33GHz
It is known that due to marketing strategies Sony decided to limit the maximum memory supported by Z690 (aka Z3) down to 6GB, despite the fact that there are reports about Z1, Z2 and Z4 installed 8GB successfully without a problem.
The working way is the stupid (and possibly risky) way:
1. Important: Clear all passwords in BIOS! (including main, user and HDD passwords) otherwise you may have to flash back to your current version to access BIOS settings.....
I've got a UK Sony Z (VGN-Z11VN). I've got a dual boot Vista/7 setup that has been working fine. I used my motion eye camera about 1 month ago in 7 with no probs. Recently it's no longer there. By that I mean no camera installed, no devices in device manager (identified or not). I've not changed anything recently. I booted Vista (not used for months) and it's also absent from there!
There are no options in the bios that I can see to disable to camera, so I'm not sure what's happening.
As it's failed in BOTH vista and 7, and I knew previously it worked I'm assuming there's a hardware failure. Could it somehow be software?
I don't know of any way to be sure without fully re-installing, which I've not got the stomach for just now. Is there a linux live distro on usb or cd/dvd that I could boot from to check if the camera hardware is still present. Alternatively is there any way I can install windows on an external drive (usb/firewire) - I think not, as I don't want to mess with my existing install as I'm pretty busy.
I just purchased Sony Laptop VGN-SZ750N, now i want to make recovery dvd set in case i need to upgrade HD, but i do not know how to do it, or i do not know if is possible. i only find in the control panel how to do back up, but recovery dvd like other sony laptop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a VAIO SZ3 an I decided yo make a win vista clean install, I installed all drivers and everything works correctly except the FN+brightness or FN+ any combination. But misteriously FN+volume and mute works, I don't know why.
I also realized that when I switch the button of speed and stamina the window that ask you if restart does not apear.
i'm trying to find a way to deactivate the indicator light that turns on (green) when i start my built in camera!i'm using it a lot and it's very annoying!!does anybody know if and how i can do this??
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon Powershot G5 and I am trying to connect this to my Sony Laptop.
The camera uses a 3.5mm AV cable but I am unsure where to plug into the laptop. In the yellow female port on the back? And I do not know what cable to use. I cannot find a male to male Audio Visual cable.
I've reinstalled my system recently, I've gone from Vista Home Premium 64bit to Vista Business 32bit on my Z690, using all the drivers available on Sony's support & drivers website. Everything was fine here and there until I've realized, the camera isn't working properly after having the Arcsoft webcam companion 2 installed.
The trouble is, I get this message: Bluetooth video waiting for connection...
I can imagine, some of you guys might have entered this issue, which is quite easy to resolve, saying this I found the following tip:
[url]
However, under Arcsoft settings the only video device listed is the bluetooth video listed. This most probably means, the Sony visual communication camera missing equals the missing camera driver on my Z690, right? I mean, having a look at device manager, under Imaging devices I've got only xerox scanner listed (installed myself through control panel/hardware and sound/scanners and cameras).
Anyway, I've even tried to install the XP camera drivers for Z690 instead, they installed smoothly (using administrator rights and XP compatibility mode), but Vaio camera capture utility shows blue screen with no input, and the Sony visual communication camera for XP provided doesn't seem to work (I know, I know it's supposed to be used for XP only, but I'm desperate here
I've tried uninstall and reinstall over & over again, restarting etc.
It just seems odd that the industry as a whole hasn't come up with a true competitor to the Air. With Sony being one if not the top high-end PC laptop maker...is there any word of an ultrathin in the works?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the camera on my VAIO VGN-CR353. Whenever I take a still photo or video, the captured image or video that is saved becomes mirrored (the left and right are reversed). Even the mirror box in the camera setup is unchecked. Currently, I am running version 2.7.01.08030 of VAIO camera capture utility and the driver for the webcam is version 6.1005.209.0.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHave looked at hours worth of posts regarding the camera, win7, etc. Does anybody have a direct link to the proper camera driver for a z690 running windows 7 x64? Also, if you have a link for 32 bit that would help with the 'ole
lady's laptop too.
Anybody else install an Intel SSD into their Z? Just installed a G2 160gb drive a few days ago and holy s. it flys, but I do have some concerns about *low (200-205MBPS Max Seq Read) benchmark scores in HD Tune. We should start a seperate thread on the Z and aftermarket SSD drives.
I am thinking of getting a VAIO Z and was thinking if the 256 MB video memory can be perform well in SolidWorks??
Also I would like owners to tell me their feedbacks, quality, deadpixels.. all the rest regarding the performance
I have recently noted that, sometimes (randomly and rarely for the time being), the pointer of my bluetooth MM (Mighty Mouse) moves farther than what I was expecting it to move. This happened probably in concomitance with the opening of some application (Iphoto once). In other words, it appeared to me that the pointer accelerated more than what I demanded it to move with the displacement of the mouse. It was not really a uncontrolled jump (as it sometimes happens with optical mice) but like a transitory but self-contained loss of pointer control.
I believe that a similar event occurred also once with the trackpad pointer when I went to the bottom of the screen to make dock appear in concomitance with a skype call launch....the pointer seemed to move fast to the right although I am quite sure it was not my finger to command this motion on the pad.
I have tried (with respect to MM) to delete and recreate the bluetooth .plist but it did not prevent from having this occurrence (note also that the batteries are OK).
I have read in some other forum, here in this site, that this might be due to OSX pointer acceleration (not perfect) management.
I had to uninstall my Motion Control Software for my U430 Touch software due to an error. I see it is not anywhere online, if it isn't too much trouble could Lenovo put the software up either here or on the drivers webpage?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI must admit that there are the diagonal lines that appear on the vaio Z when the laptop moves or just for no reason. It's very fine, but obviously there has been alot of discussion about it. Every Z (or 95%) of them I have viewed (about 10) have this issue and I can truly see it. I saw it before I read these forums and was like "what is this?" Well, how can I make this phenomenon not bother me, b/c it seems like it's not constantly being brought up in these forums anymore.
I feel it detracts from my enjoyment such that I want to sell the Z which I just got. Is there a way to unlearn what I've already seen? I guess do you really stop noticing it after time?
how to make optical drive to be revealed on eject key press if it was turned off according to a powersaving scheme? This issue relates only to Sony Z after Vista clean installation (by this manual: Sony Z series 32bit Vista Clean Install Guide (full functions & no windows activation)). When I had "factory installed" Vista, it worked this way. But after I have reinstalled OS, DVD drive doesn't want to wake up without restart.
