My Acer Aspire 5930 doesn't have bluetooth.
Where can I buy a bluetooth card for 5930?
I cannot find any documentation on what it does.
The bios I had when I first got my 5930G was 1.21.
There are 1.22 and 1.23 bioses available.
Is there any documentation online on what exactly either of those newer versions support/do?
An upload or a link could be awsome.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got my Aspire 5930G here in sweden, and i have to say coming from a DELL laptop, this one is really nice.
It has a 2.0GHZ CPU which maybe is a little slow, but the grfx card (Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT) makes up for that!
3 GB RAM, HDMI/VGA ports, DVD-writer, 15.4" screen with 1280x800.
I just put in another harddrive in it (320gigger instead of 250 that came with it) and with 7200rpm instead of the original 5400 it is really much faster.
I bought the laptop for 1160$ aprox, which is pretty cheap, isnt it? =)
Just tried 3dmarks 2006 and it gets 5567 points which is VERY good for this kind of cheap laptop, "for the win"!
It seems this laptop is pretty rare still, im not sure its new on the market, but can other owners please write here, maybe some tips or so
Wonder if i for instance can put another (faster) CPU in this one to make it faster..
Here are some links for those who are intrested in this one:

I bought a new ext. harddrive (Verbatim 3.5" 1TB QUAD INTERFACE) in order to connect it to my laptop (Acer Aspire 5930, Win Vista, SP1) via eSATA port. However this does not work at all. The computer simply does not detect the hard drive. The same trouble appeared when i tried to connect the drive to another machine, so it is possible its simply broken down. But the USB connection works pretty well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Bluetooth keyboard goes to sleep after a period of idle and it takes 15 seconds for the Acer Aspire 1810T to wake up and notice the Bluetooth keypresses.
However, I found out my Bluetooth keyboard works reliably when I have a second Bluetooth device connected and active at the time (such as either a headset or bluetooth tethering to a cellphone as modem), the computer doesn't have a 15 second lag in noticing the Bluetooth keyboard again - the keyboard works almost right away even after being unused for sometime.
So that means the culprit is in the power management on the Acer Bluetooth module. Is there a way to force the Bluetooth module to never go to sleep? Any checkbox somewhere, a register setting? Even going as far to purchase a different Bluetooth driver? Or any other option? Sometimes the sleep is useful, but it definitely isn't useful with the Bluetooth keyboard. This problem does not happen if I use an external Bluetooth dongle.
(With BatteryBar Pro, I notice that power consumption falls suddenly whenever the Bluetooth module goes to sleep when the keyboard goes idle for more than 30 seconds, and at this point, it has difficulty 'waking up' when I start typing on the Bluetooth keyboard. But the problem also still happens when the laptop is plugged in!)
I have finally tested the Acer Empowering Technology software on my Acer D150.
Great news, the software works to enable/disable the Bluetooth module on the netbook without physically pressing the button. This is great for people like me that do not have the button on top to push the button inside. There are two software needed for people to get this running on the D150. First is the required “Acer Empowering Framework” software and the second is the “Acer ePower Management.” Once both software are installed on the system, the setting to enable/disable the Bluetooth module is in the ePower Management.
Power profiles within windows will probably be reset to default, so those would have to be readjusted if a user changed them. I am actually running Windows Vista on my Acer D150 with the Acer Empowering Technology software for Vista. I am not 100% sure if the software will also work on XP, but from the notebookreview forums, I believe it should work just as fine (but more options on other Empowering Technology software).
(in XP, the driver also works, but need XP edition, not vista editon).
I have a Vaio FW450 and I just finished the windows 7 upgrade. Just the upgrade, not a clean install. Everything works flawless except the bluetooth. The computer can't detect it's bluetooth hardware. I tried installing the driver from esupport, but still no luck. how I can get this working?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question concerning self-upgrading of the wireless card and bluetooth.
Long story short, I have a Lenovo T61 that has bluetooth and the Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card. However, both the inverter and graphics card (nVidia quadro 140M) have failed. I have determined it is best to buy a new laptop.
I am planning to either buy a HP Pavilion dv6t or dv4t. However, I would like to know if it is possible to forgo getting bluetooth and the wireless-n card when I order this laptop and install these components myself as I already have them from my Lenovo T61. My Lenovo T61 is just going to collect dust, and I am willing to take it apart for the individual parts.
Is it worth the work? I believe I will not have problems taking apart the HP Pavilion and the Lenovo T61 as I am aware of the websites that show you how to take apart these models. But will the HP Pavilion motherboard support the wireless-n card and bluetooth if I originally did not order such components? Will the warranty be affected?
Additional information: I shall be buying the HP Pavilion from Costco.
My system is HP Envy m6 1104tx. It came with Windows 8 (64-bit) preinstalled and everything was fine until I chose to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

After checking with CompMgmt.msc I found that I had RaLink 3290 802.11 Wi-Fi adapter. Just below Network adapters I have 'Other Devices' and under it 'Bluetooth Controller' with a yellow exclamation mark on it. I tried updating the drivers, but it says "Windows was unable to install bluetooth controller'Â (could not find driver software for your device).
Â
I updated almost all the possible device drivers, but this 'Bluetooth Controller' still shows a yellow exclamation on it.
Â
Also in CompMgmt.msc I dont find 'Bluetooth' or 'Bluetooth Module' but instead there is a 'Bluetooth Profiles Devices' and inside that 'Bluetooth Profile Interface Driver'. I tried updating it but the result was again as mentioned above.
Â
So, how do I troubleshoot this? How do I get Bluetooth work on my Envy m6?
Â
And yes I ran HP Support Assistance, but it says everything's fine. And in reality it isn't, Bluetooth not working.
i recently upgraded the bios of dell inspiron N5050 to be A05

I bought a U410 knowing it didn't have bluetooth, at the time I thought I wouldn't need it. But now I would like to have it. Is it possible to upgrade the Centrino Wireless-N 2200 card, to a card that includes bluetooth?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I go about installing Bluetooth on my X31 2673? I plan on getting a Bluetooth speaker to sync with it. I don't have Bluetooth installed on the X31, I will need to upgrade. Are the Bluetooth parts difficult to find for an older X31 2673? Is it worth the cost? Or should I just buy a identical X31 with Bluetooth?

Where can I get an updated version that is compatible with W8? and not find dell wifi driver....
I bought at DELL OUTLET a M6400 without the Bluetooth Module, I will buy it separate from DELL, do you know if the Bluetooth antenas will be Pre-Wired in the notebook ?,
actually I am buying the DELL 410 Bluetooth + UWB card, meaning I need the Pre-Wiring for Bluetooth and UWB ?
I noticed a few other threads around the internet about this issue, but couldnt find a definitive answer on how to get it fixed, so I thought I would try it here.
The problem is that when I go into standby and wake from it, my bluetooth icon disappears and bluetooth doesnt work.
I have a Dell Studio XPS 13 running Vista 64 with the Dell bluetooth 370 minicard. Ive tried using the generic windows bluetooth drivers as well as Dell's drivers.
Nothing appears in device manager as well. I have to manually go into bluetooth settings, disable the device, then re-enable it.
Is it possible to install an internal bluetooth? is so what is the product called?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Acer Aspire 5920G, it came without bluetooth, but with the button upon pressing it, a message comes up "No device"
I bought this from ebay:[url]
and fitted it today, the connector was available and space for the chip to sit and screw.
I started the laptop up, and the laptop did not come with any message about a new device.
I downloaded the driver from acers website this one:[url]
but when installing it it comes up with no bluetooth device detected.
I dont know what to do now.
Whilst fitting the bluetooth i managed to break the connector for my keyboard but ordered a new one which should come tomorrow or friday.
i have acquired a broadcom bcm 92045nmd bluetooth device and cable.
will this fit into my motherboard? if so are there any guides online to do this?
it currently states 'no device' when the bluetoth button is pressed.
How I put the bluetooth back on my 5610? When I first got the laptop, bluetooth was enabled (I think) as there was a blue LED lit on the front of the machine by the sliding bluetooth control button. I have since had to reformat as I loaded some drivers for a Compro TV stick that was 'supposed' to be Vista compatible. Needless to say, it screwed everything up so I ended up just reformatting and reloading everything. I have been to the Acer FTP site as Acer themselves told me to do and clicked on the Vista link and downloaded the Bluetooth program and loaded it but nothing happens? No blue LED or nowt.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two questions my first one is my wireless internet, I have a switch that has a yellow light showing that it's connected wirelessly, before I formatted my computer I could move the switch and it would say wireless off or on. What do I need to download or do to fix this?
My second question is that I have bluetooth my bluetooth switch is beside my wireless, before it would glow blue, but now it does nothing and when I hit the switch bluetooth doesn't come on or off, and I installed the bluetooth driver for my laptop but it says bluetooth device not found when I hover over the icon in the right corner of my task bar.
I bought a new laptop the other day, its:
Acer aspire 7540G
Ive never EVER had such a high spec laptop before (well it may not be high spec to some people but as it is to me )
Anyway, m just wondering, its got a bluetooth button on it, when i press it it says 'no device' on my screen.
I thought maybe I could search using my ps3 for the lappy but it doesnt come up with anything.
What can i do with this bluetooth thing and how do i activate it?
Just wanted to share my upgrade experience with my Aspire 4736z. My model did not come with bluetooth installed from the factory and it only has 3 usb ports and I wanted to keep them as free as possible.
So I found a place that sells the bluetooth module and cable needed.
I installed the module and cable and everything works great. Installed the driver and now my bluetooth button works as it should.
Here is the link to the place where I bought the module from:
