I've had my Acer Aspire 3050-1905 for about 8-9 months. For the most part I've always left the a/c plugged in. Well a few days ago I decided to drain the battery and when I charged the battery it won't go past 4% charged. It works fine with the battery out
and ac plugged in. But when I try to charge the battery it won't go past 4%. I used NHC and the wear level is at 0%.
my Aspire 3050-1905 had an terrible hijacker virus. I finally got it removed using malware bytes. Long story short, I decided to replace my hard drive and upgrade the memory. I re-installed my drivers and such using my orignal backup disc. Well everything worked fine until I turned off my computer and restarted the very next day, my touch pad and keyboard isn't responding. If I plug in external keyboard and mouse not problem, or if I start up in safe mode I can use my keyboard and touch pad with no problem.

The battery bar had the rising horizonal bar again..but only for 5 times. now it is back at showing the battery at 6% with no movement.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, downloaded software/installed software the entire time, and browsed the internet).
Anyway, I plugged it in today, and it's been charging for just over 4 hours now and it's only at 78%...is this unusually slow to charge? Should I send mine back? I've never had a proper working battery take this long to charge, even 9 cells.
I have an Acer Aspire V3-771G which I got in 2013. I've had no battery problems before. Earlier this month I noticed that the orange charging light remained on longer than usual. I turned my computer on and noticed that it said that the battery was 98% charged and charging.I have not done the procedure of discharging and recharging the battery three times as mentioned in the manual.
I have not removed the battery since I first installed it (it came with the computer). I don't normally use the laptop on battery power unless it happens to be on during a power outage.I would like to know if I need a new battery or not, as I am concerned as to if the laptop will be continuously trying to fully charge the battery thus wearing it out prematurely.The computer came with Windows 8. I bought a new battery for my Aspire-One (AOA110) netbook. Â I flashed the BIOS according to instructions and, after waiting for a day while the netbook was telling me that the battery was being charged, the netbook told me that the battery was 100% charged. Â I disconnected the charging cable and, immediately, the netbook told me that I had to reconnect it because the netbook was out of power. Â The battery charge had immediately dropped from 100% to 0%!
I have repeated the same operation several times, with identical results. Is the new battery defective? Â Or should I do something else?Â

I have had it for a while and have ugraded the Ram and put Bluetooth into it. Now Im wanting the sound to be better. Just a higher output so it louder. Is there anyway of doing this. New sound card or driver of some sort?

I recently upgraded the CPU in my Acer Aspire 3050-1150 to a Turion XL-56. The first bootup was a breeze, and Windows Vista Home Basic recognized the new chip no problem. Temps ended up being cooler than before the upgrade.
Later that day, comp just shut down. I tried to reboot...comp started but shut off a second or two into loading windows. Next boot attempt the on/off switch wouldn't work at all...appeared dead. I waited a few minutes, took out the AC adapter and windows booted. Next time at bootup, similar pattern, but wouldnt boot even with the AC adapter taken out. This time it booted with the battery out and AC in.
Similar pattern at every bootup...false starts, shuts down at various points, but then eventually boots up after several attempts. I have just been leaving it on, in sleep mode when not in use. I am very afraid of doing a windows update which requires a reboot, so I haven't been doing that.
First I thought it was the contact problem with the power adapter then I fixed that problem. Now it simply turns on and and does nothing. After awhile even the fan comes on properly. But the laptop has no pic nothing no hardrive movement nothing.

The computer is in dead state the next morning after I switched its Windows power plan to high performance. In order to unlock power plan options, I disabled connected standby via a registry key in HKLMSystemControlSet001ControlPowerCsEnabled to 0.

After investigating, I read that this computer doesn't support normal hibernate wake-up process other than connected standby. I select shut down option in the menu (hibernate option disappeared). It's possible that shut down option in the menu was actually set to sleep/hibernate in power settings by default.

The LED power indicator doesn't light on when power supply is connected on either DC or microUsb.
I have just instaled a new hard drive in a 3050 and i have installed windows xp, as it used to have vista. i have installed all the drivers for sound, card reader, graphics and all is good. But, i cannot get the wireless to work, even after instaling the drivers. it will work with a wireless dongle ok and go online.
View 7 Replies View Relatedthe hole on the laptop where you plug in the charger seems to be broken. the charger itself still has a green light, so i don't think that is the problem. i would have to sit there and hold the charger in a certain place the entire time i was on it. and it seemed to be harder and harder to get it to charge until eventually it stopped all together. what i want to do is download all of my pictures on there to a disc. i don't have a problem sending it to acer and getting it fixed, but i don't want the hard drive wiped clean yet. all i really need is a charged battery to borrow for like 20 minutes until i am finished downloading my pictures. i live in erie,pa. unless there is another way to charge the battery i have? or some other solution.

1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or
2. a faulty battery

But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.
 My battery has not held more than about a 45-second charge since 2009; however, the AC adaptor seems to work fine, and the Power Management icon always tells me that I have a full (i.e., about 45-second) charge and that the AC adaptor is plugged in.  Today, just after I disabled the Acer Tour Reminder, CyberLink PlayMovie, and Microsoft Office OneNote (because I never use them and I wanted a faster startup), I moved some program icons that I didn't need or that were already on my Quick Launch tool bar into the Recycle Bin.  Suddenly, the notebook make sort of an electronic squeaking sound and immediately shut down--black screen; no lights. I unplugged it, checked to ensure the battery was properly seated, felt to make sure it did not feel hot anywhere, plugged it in, saw that the lights were showing on the adaptor and on the front left edge of the notebook, turned it on, and selected normal start; it started up again.  It ran for at least three minutes (which, because of the battery, it would not unless the AC adaptor was functioning) and then, after I moved a few more icons to the Recycle Bin, it suddenly shut down again in the same manner. I started it again and it has now been running long enough for me to look up my Acer Forum registration information and update it after resetting my password. Â I am writing this on another notebook. Â The Acer is still running, but I want to ensure it doesn't shut down on me when I am in the middle of a project.

I figured it must be the cord, so I bought a new one. It still won't hold a charge. When I run my mouse over the battery icon, it says XX% (currently 37%) available (plugged in, not charging). I know just enough about computers to be dangerous, but not enough to figure out what is wrong. Can anyone help me trouble shoot?

i've had my Z for for a couple weeks now. previously i had a vaio FW which has been used for a good year or so. by now, the battery on my FW is pretty much useless because it cannot hold enough charge to keep the laptop running for 10 min without the charger being plugged in. however, i notice that my brand new Z isnt able to hold the charge 100% either. this was the case for my FW as well, and it progressively got worse to the point where, as mentioned, i couldnt run it without it plugged in. what's can i do about this? i'm trying to prevent this from happening to my Z since i will most definitely need it to run on battery life for a couple of hours during classes. when using my Z at home, i normally keep it plugged in (it have not let it reach 0% battery life yet). i've been keeping it plugged in even when it is off..that is the only way i see 100% battery life upon start up. if i leave it unplugged, when starting up, it will only display 96-98%. the longer i leave it unplugged, the lower the charge is when i start it up again (after about 8 hours unplugged and shut off, it'll show 92% at start up).
View 7 Replies View RelatedA while back I booted up the notebook and my battery light began blinking rapidly. The battery icon says the battery was at 100%, but it wont run or start up on the battery alone. I took this as being a battery issue and I've just been running it of the wall.
Just recently I bought a new battery and it ran off the new battery, which still had some juice (about 40%). I plugged the charger in and to my dissmay, watched the battery level decrease. So i'm thinking this is more of a laptop issue and not a battery issue....
My dv5t won't take a charge. The charge indicator light does not come on and the battery charge indicator graphic in windows doesn't show it is charging (plus the AC adapter isn't getting warm). My laptop is now out of charge and I have no way to use it. I think the connector at the PC end might be loose or something, but perhaps it is just the AC charge adapter.
The reason I say the conenctor at the laptop end might be loose it because I can wiggle the charging plug around in the socket quite a bit when it is plugged into the laptop power socket (the round socket at the rear of the right side). Sometimes the charge plug has weight on it when in my lap since the darn things sticks out so much, and I am wondering if I have caused the socket to malfunction internally (loose lead or something?).
