Im running windows 8.1 64 bit Acer Aspire E1-470, I notice my screen keeps on flickering, its like a heartbeat impulse, it dims and gets back light again its not severe but it annoys me alot!
The problem is, that my Aspire's screen keeps flickering and making weird waves and stuff. It basically makes text unreadable, and I almost can't see anything. To turn it somewhat normal, I turn down the light, but it's not working much. The text sometimes turns into different colors, Blue, green and red.
I have screen flickering problem with my Acer Aspire 725 with windows 8 OS. Flickering stops when i remove the power supply. I could see the battery plugged and unplugged symbol in Windows 8 continuously. Whether i should replace my battery or power supply adaptor?
This afternoon I decided to do a clean install of windows 8.1 on my Acer Aspire v5-431P. Everything went well and it booted up as it should do. After completing the windows setup procedure, I went on to reinstall all the drivers. Everything was still fine. When I was downloading them from the Acer website I heard the sound a windows computer makes when a device is plugged in or out. The screen went off and on and the image was blurry and flickering. Like it's covered in water. I also see everything double. But very vague.  I tried to reboot the laptop, took out the battery, plugged it in and out of the power source etc. The problem occurs after the windows login screen. The acer bios logo and the windows startup logo are perfectly fine but after that it's cr*p. At this point I was certain the screen itself was perfectly fine so I tried testing is on my tv using and HDMI cable. Worked perfectly.  The last thing I tried was reinstalling windows but the same happened. After 5 minutes of usage the screen goes ham again.Â
I have an ACER Aspire 5920Z laptop and the screen just starts Flickering in between .......Can something be done about it? well just gathered out a couple of info ..is it related to the 8ms response time the laptop has..?The refresh rate doesnt change on LCD screens so that option doesnt work either (fixed at 60)
I have a problem with the video being all messed up in my Acer laptop. I made a short video which shows the problem - basically it's a persistent blue colored lines flickering everywhere where the background is supposed to be white and stable. Needles to say it renders my laptop almost unusable.Â
I have an Acer Aspire 5634WLMi with 2 years. Got a problem on the monitor (15.4-inch LCD CrystalBite).
It slowly started a year ago (at that time still had warranty but underestimated the problem and now it expired). In all the black images(movies, photos) began to appear some green fluorescent dots that looks like they are living (in English I think is called flickering spots, jaggies?!) which then disappear and come back. I did not care at first because both appeared to disappear. Over time there have appeared more, followed by purple dots now. These purple dots are never in black image but sometimes they are the shadow of the black image. But in videos with very dark black only come green dots (always flickering). In all the other colors there is no problem, for example I am writing this in Word and the blue and white of this image is not green. It is however in my opinion a little blurry, I do not know. The letters are black (with a slight green Halo) but it seems that they aren’t standing still and shake a little. The most strange is that on the desktop there is a pattern of green dots on the bottom left and a purple on the upper corner that are often there but sometimes also move around. In fact there was not so long ago a time when I got a perfect image. I began to think that the laptop went to very warm, open a part, cleaned the fan and reduce the processor speed by changing the temperature of the device. After a while it disappeared. But this improvement lasted only 1 day. Then it began all over again. I have also tried to connect the computer to another monitor and had a perfect image, so it seems that it is not the graphics. On the Internet I found many of these reports that the cable that goes from the graphicscard to the monitor is damaged and that a simple substitution leads to full restoration of the notebook. Anyway before attempting to open the laptop (I've been watching some videos of how to do) like to have another opinion from someone who realizes this. I already took him ah repair but wanted 250 euro to replace the monitor with dead pixels (which I think is wrong they are not all dead, and until very squiggly and alternate location). For 250euros rather buy a new though economically not good for me. When the computer has a completely black image is all green. For example when the screensaver comes with the ball moving from one place to another.
Have disabled the auto adjustment option in the power settings -> advanced settings -> adaptive brightness.Have disabled the dell extended life battery options.Have tried the proposed workaround to cycle between local and external display settings.I received this laptop in Dec 2014, although it says it is a late 2013 laptop.
I just got my M1330 and so far its been working great. Except I have Just come across a problem. On the lowest display setting the screen flickers, does anyone else have this problem? I have been using the display in the lowest setting brightness to conserve battery, and it has never flickered or pulsed before?
I purchased a dell studio 17 off ebay and that is fully working and has a new battery.
The man selling it sells alot of laptops that he has fixed or replaced stuff on. He told me it was not refurbished at all but looking at his feedback i think he has replaced the screen and casing on the laptop.
Ive only had it a few days and noticed that the screen has started flickering in terms of going light and dull on and off very quickly. It only seems to happen though when im running on battery as its fine when its plugged in.
Is this laptop faulty or is it a minor problem?? as i won the bidding very cheap so i want to keep hold of it if there is nothing major wrong with it.
my dv5t that is 11months old has been having flickering issues for like the last couple months. random lines just start appearing or screen goes dimmer, and it usually is fixed but just moving the screen back and forth. no idea what causes this. so i read other people have had the same issue and have sent it into hp, which fix it temporarily but the problem comes back. so my questions include
1. by now, does hp fully fix this problem yet?
2. what is usually the turn-around time? if i sent my laptop out on monday, when would i expect to get it back? i'm from TX btw
3. do i have to pay for shipping to ship it there? or will they cover that?
4. will my harddrive been reformatted when i sent it in?
5. can i remove my harddrive before i send it in (to verify i still have all my data)? where is HD located?
I have the new Macbook Pro 15" and went online to do some stock trading with my new Macbook. It seems like either my new Macbook doesn't like Scottrade's stock streaming or Scottrade's streaming quotes don't like Apple products
Anyone here use their Apple with Scottrade for online streaming quotes? The screen flickers like crazy when one inputs sell or modify orders.
I've had this new XPS 17 laptop for less than a month. The screen started flickering about a week ago. I haven't dropped it or anything, and it doesn't stay black for any length of time. It will flicker off and on a few times in less than a second. I was just wondering what should I do?
I have a 4 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 that has recently been giving me a number of problems. For the past two days the laptop has been flickering between the display and a black screen, with it becoming somewhat more frequent as time went on.
I had read that it may be a loose wire and I had planned on opening it up and attempting to fix it myself (the warranty is over and I'd rather attempt to fix it myself first before paying to have it fixed at extremely high prices).
However, the lower right corner of the screen has recently started to become incredibly hot and noticeable smoke and burning has begun to occur. I immediately shut off and unplugged the computer and have not used it since .....
My Dell Vostro 1710 screen Still flickering.. Dell Just Replaced the motherboard for me last week. What Should I do... Is it caused by the 8600m gs....
I posted it in the accessories forum, but didnt get much response..was wondering if you dell guys have a better idea on this.
Basically, I have a 2.5 year old Dell E1505 with ATI x1400 on it. I just bought a new Samsung T220HD monitor and I love that thing. But, when I first hooked it up and everything and ran dual monitors, my external screen flickers about once every 5 mins.
Then when I adjusted a few things, the external screen stopped flickering, but my laptop screen started to flicker, once every 5 mins or so. When I watch tv on my this monitor (it has a tuner built in),
there is no flickering, and when I use my external monitor as my main monitor (by closing the lid of my laptop),
My friend received a dv4t a month ago, and we did clean install on it day one. But this morning, it started flickering heavily - past the point where its 90 degrees to table surface. So while opening the screen lid, everything seems and works fine upto the points when screen is approx perpendicular to keyboard, and even a slight push beyond that and screen either goes blank or it flickers heavily altering white and black screens, no desktop visible. I did another clean install, and problem was persistent even while clean install was in progress, and even after it was done and I installed drivers for it from SWSetwup folder. I am currently chatting with HP rep and he apparently knows nothing about it.
As i am still waiting for my UMacbook pro 17" to be delivered , I have been going though the Apple Forum, and a problem with the screen flickering , seems to affect a lot of models and a lot of people are angry, is this a serious issue or not.
I bought my Dell XPS 13 laptop (L321X) in December of 2012.  Beginning in the middle of 2013, I began experiencing my display screen suddenly become scrambled. I am attaching a photo of what happens.  I did not think anything of it at first, and honestly it would happen maybe once a month.  I figured it was maybe that I had the laptop on my lap and it was getting overheated.  In any event, I didn't think much of it.Â
Since the beginning of this year, I saw that it started doing it more frequently. Â Within the last month, it has been happening more and more frequently, to the point that it is disrupting my use of the laptop.
I have not yet tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor to see if the issue is with my video drive or screen. Â It's just difficult to attach it to an external monitor in time when the problem starts, because the scrambling goes away within 20-30 seconds. Â
When I unplug my laptop, and I have maximum brightness set on screen, there is this really high pitch hum and flickering of the screen. Does anyone know what I can do?
my laptop started acting REALLY weird about a week ago. While I am using it, seemingly at random, the screen 'flickers' and freezes up, and the only way out is to hold the power button to shut down, and then restart.
I have included a picture of what it looks like:
I also noticed that the speakers sort of emitted a 'staticky' sound as this happened, although this could just be because the computer stops processing the sound data.
Anyone ever experience anything similar??? What to do?
Also if I check the Windows Event Viewer after restarting, it logs nothing at the time of freezing, no errors or anything.
The laptop runs sort of warm, but never part 66°-69°C
It has: Windows Vista SP1, AMD ATHLON X2 1.6, and 2gb ram.
So I was using my Inspiron 1545 and everything was going fine, then suddenly the screen just went nuts. It was green and pink, flickering, and had bars flashing everywhere. I turned it off manually, and after that it would turn on a few times (BIOS graphics were fine) but the desktop would be messed up. Then soon after that, I couldn't even get to BIOS. I press the power, the fan starts for like 2 seconds, then the laptop completely shuts down. I've tried removing the power supply and battery, holding the power button, then putting them back to no avail. I've also tried having it only connected to the power supply. I've even tried removing one of the two RAM.
Loving my Yoga 13 so far have had it since Oct 26th when it was released. Like everyone else I had some issues with partitioning yadda yadda yadda, got that taken care of, but lately I've noticed that my screen brightness seems to flicker, ALL the time, when switching from program to program if the color changes on the screen I notice that the brightness changes as well in noticeable increments. I have the automatic brightness setting set to OFF, so I can't imagine that's the reason.
I just returned my previous Inspiron 13 model 7347 (the i5) because of screen flickering thinking I had a bad computer. Â The replacement is doing the same thing.
On battery the screen will flicker every 10 seconds or so. Â It is especially noticeable when the brightness is turned all the way down. Â I have tried going into the Intel HD graphics control panel and disabling the display power saving technology. Â I have also gone into Power Options and disabled adaptive brightness. Â I even went into the Dell extended battery life options and disabled Dell Intelligent Display. Â Nothing has worked. Â The screen still flickers and it is quite annoying. Â This is the second computer doing this in 4 days. Â I don't want to go back and return the second laptop if I don't have to.
My Lenovo E440 screen flickers when I plug or unplug the AC power charger. I think this happened after I installed all the drivers. This doesn't occuer when the windows was still 'fresh-installed'.  I read on other thread that this also happened on other machines and I think the cause is the same, the refresh rate change from 60Hz to 50Hz when I plug the AC power and then it goes back to 60Hz when I unplug the AC power. So I plug the AC power then change both refresh rate to 60Hz. It went fine when I unplug the charger, but when I plug the charger again the refresh rate for while plugged in change to 50Hz again no matter how I try (so it flickers again when I plug the charger again).
Also, I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation and I've installed the latest Windows Updates, Lenovo System Updates, and Nvidia driver update.  My question is: 1. Is this software error or what? If it is software error then shouldn't this occur on all user? 2. What is the difference between the display refresh rate? Which one should I use (I though higher refresh rate is better)? Why does the refresh rate change when I plug/unplug the charger? If I remember correctly AC power source is 50Hz, does it related to this problem?
When plugged into the adapter my Levovo Z570 screen flickers between bright and dark when on certain webpages or doing certain tasks. I have changed the battery and this makes no difference. This doesnt happen when on battery power. Â Note that the brightness is flicking between the battery brightness setting and plugged in brightness setting. So if there is a large difference between the two the flickering is very noticable and distracting. If I make the battery brightness the same as the plugged in brightness the flickering doesnt happen.
