Headphone socket not working at all but speakers are.
My uncle bought a Aspire E1-572-6870 series notebook six months before for me from USA. After using 10 to 15 days I noticed the internal speaker is not working. But the headphone and/or microphone is working very fine. I went to a local laptop repairing shop for diagnosis. Unfortunately they were unable to find out the actual problem. They suggest me to change the speaker chip may result solve the problem. Before changing the chip I want to diagnose once more for accuracy about the problem. Any online check can be possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire E1-572 that is five months old, running Win 8.1. Â I've loved the notebook to this point, but now the speakers have quit working completely (the headphone jack still works). Â I called tech support and they had me delete and reinstall the driver (Realtech high definition audio), which made no difference. Â
Â
She then told me the next step is to refresh my Windows installation, which will apparently blow away everything I've installed since it was new. Â I declined to do that because I really don't want to spend an entire day reinstalling all the programs, even though I have the data backed up. Â Is this truly the only way to make a final determination if it's a hardware or software problem?
What is the exact plug size of Acer Aspire 5755g power socket?
I lost my old charger and I need to buy a new one but I want to make sure that I but the correct one.
Anyone gotten sound from the SPDIF/headphone-jacket? I've connected a digital cable to this jacket to my reciever but i dont get any sound at all. I've changed to "Realtek Digital Out" in the sound options. Maybe there's some setting to switch this from analog(headphone) to SPDIF or maybe this is done automaticly?
I really hope i dont need to buy a HDMI-reciever to get digital out from this laptop, already spent much on this laptop
All of my headphones work on my other devices, so I know that the problem is not with the headphones themselves. The problem is that when I use my headphones with my laptop, everyone esle around me can hear what I'm listening to. What do I need to do?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi got a problem with my headphone jack. I only hear sound on the right side, not on the left. tried different headphones, same problem. Did the soundtest from the configurationpanel , same problem.

Laptop is a few months out of warranty so a repair by Acer isn't an option (if it is a hardware error).
I have Aspire 7520 with xp OS. It has weird sound problem. Sound is not coming from speaker but when I plug in my headphone it does, but that too is very distorted. It was working fine previously both speaker and headphone. I dont know what went wrong? "Audio_Relatek_5.1" drivers are currently installed.
I've also checked sound setting they are perfectly fine.
Is there any risk if i connect the laptops AC power cord which is 3 pin to a 2pin wll socket with the help of a 3 to 2 pin conductor?
Will it cause harm to the laptop or PSU? bcause i think if the extra charge doesnt flow to the ground it will stay in the laptop and damage it.
The headphone jack all of a sudden stopped working. I tried restarting my computer and it still doesn't work.
At first I thought my headphones died, but testing it on another source, it still works.
I have tried three different headphones and none of them work - when i plug in the headphones, nothing happens. I have tried rebooting. Have checkec AUDIO in the control panel, it only shows SPEAKERS but nothing there for headphones or microphones.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently (last month) sent  my IdeaPad Y410p in to Lenovo for repairs due to the laptop not turning on, or repeatedly restarting at the BIOS screen. The laptop was repaired by Lenovo (they replaced the motherboard), and returned it to me. The laptop has worked great sincce then, except that the two USB ports on the right side and the headphone and microphone jacks do not work. I have reinstalled the audio drivers, twice, but have not reinstalled the chipset drivers at all, as I don't want to screw around with those untiol I no more about what I should do.

X220 tablet (about 2.5 yrs old, out of warranty) was working completely fine last night; this morning, no sound is coming from the laptop, either through speakers or through headphones (audio jack). Â I am, however, able to get sound through a bluetooth-connected speaker.
Â
I had hoped this was a software issue. Â Tried uninstalling/installing all sound devices, updating BIOS, updating drivers, system restore to previous date, rebooting a million times, etc. Â No joy.
Â
When I run the sound troubleshooter, it says that no speaker, headset, or headphone appears to be plugged in. Â The sound icon has a little red circle/white X next to it. Â When I try to plug in headphones, nothing happens -- does not seem to detect the event. Â When I press the mute and volume buttons on the tablet, no response.
Â
Also, under Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers, it lists only "Bluetooth Hands-free Audio" and "Intel Display Audio". Â I don't think either of these is the normal X220 audio driver, is it? Â What else should be there? Â I downloaded the Conexant Audio Software from Lenovo's site (this is what came up when I searched for audio drivers for the X220 tablet), and tried to install it, but halfway through, it said the install failed because it couldn't locate the device for the driver.
Â
This sounds like it's a hardware problem -- any way to verify? Â Also, which piece of hardware exactly? Â Is it the sound card (that's presumably integrated into the motherboard --> no easy fix)? Â I'm guessing it's not the speakers themselves since the headphone jack is also affected, but what is my best line of testing at this point to confirm that?
As noted above. Seems to be no power going to CD rom. light does not come on. door does not open, does not play cd.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis laptop has new install of WinXP Pro. All drivers are good, and it is working fine. It has a short history of headphones not working when connected.
I have found a fix, if you could call it that. When XP loads, connecting the headphones mutes the speakers, but there is no audio on the headphones. If I close the computer lid down and it drops into sleep mode? When it wakes, the headphones work fine for the entire session. Works every time!
Realtek drivers and software run the audio. I have exhaustively scrutinised all the settings but have found no anomoly.
I just took apart my laptop to clean the dust off and to apply some Arctic Silver to my CPU and noticed something very strange. When I went to remove the CPU it would not come off. The little screw lock turns and opens but the CPU will not come off. Its almost as if it is glued on or something. I am 100% sure the locking mechanism is opening. This is very disturbing since i was looking to possibly upgrade my CPU to a core 2 in the near future. My Dell warranty is up so im not sure what Dell will say if I contact them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire One 6cell, and have had a terrible experience with it. Let me start by giving you what happened until now...
On January 12, I purchased an Aspire One here in Belgium. It's a model with a 6cell battery, QWERTY keyboard.
The next day when I'm charging it, the LED indicator, which was red, indicating that the system was still charging, all of a sudden, turned off. The laptop, was on on that moment was on and Windows noticed that the system went on battery power. However, I hadn't touched the cables or anything, it just stopped charging. After 15-30 minutes, it started charging again. It seemed something had to discharge or so before it went on.
I tested in another plug. Nothing. I removed the battery and tried switching it on: again nothing (which made me think it had nothing to do with the battery).
I called the shop and they said it had to return to Acer, which could take up to 4 weeks. I was a bit dissapointed by that, so I called Acer instead. They told that it was a known problem on the motherboard, they would come pickup the system and I would have it back a few days later.
So they came, about a week later, they returned it. On the warranty note, it said: no problem found, bios updated. I retested the system, after a day, it did it again. So I called Acer again. They would come again to pick up the machine.
Again, a week or so later, it returned, only to find that again, they didn't fix the problem. On top of that, the cover of the laptop was severly scratched. I called them again, they would fix it this time for sure.
Again, it came back. It worked fine for about 2 weeks... Then, the same problem came back: while charging, it stopped charging. I was completely stunned, so I went back to the store where I bought it. They would take care of it............
I have an Acer Aspire 5570z Notebook
with built in, DVD/CD Burner
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device
Type: DVD/CD ROM Drives
My Cd/Dvd combo was working properly the other day, But now it doesn't read c.d's , only thing works in it now is DVD's.
The last thing i done before it went weird was burn a c.d on NTI Cd/Dvd Maker, and an error came up and said could not complete or something. When i open up my WMP to rip some songs, i notice it wasn't working. Everytime i put a c.d in, it make sounds of it spining, but not reading comes up. it says Please Enter A Disc. I tried almost everything, i cleaned the laser, i tried removing "upper and lower fliters" from the regedit thing, which wasn't there because i removed that once before when i had this problem.
typing with screen keyboard.
My keyboard is partially not working, launch manager didn't work correct b4 but now some letter keys & even shift keys r not working.
Saying that, my battery came out of laptop (lock was unlocked) when it was shut down, anything to do with that maybe?
I used to use Omega drivers on mine until I upgraded to Premium x64. I have another 5672 issue (not entirely sure if I should have made a thread of it or not though).
On removing the HDD: The USB bus for the ports on the left side of the laptop rests under the HDD. When I removed the HDD the USB cable was stuck to it and, therefore, lodged out of it's motherboard connection. I can't see or find where to slide it back in. It "looks" as if it connects to the motherboard the same way the keyboard cable does.
Now my left side USB ports do not work.
I have installed a V-lited version of vista onto my acer aspire one, but cant get the Lan to work or the Wlan, the Wlan doesnt even show up in the device manager and i cant find drivers for it as i dont know wat module it is.
Does anyone know which wireless card it is or were i can find drivers for the wlan?
Also i cant find a driver for the ethernet controller.
