View 10 Repliesis it possible to change/upgrade the graph card on my acer aspire 5810T?
View 10 RepliesI have an aspire 4745G which AMD Radeon Graphics might somehow be corrupted, and so ever since I was using the Intel dedicated VRAM, However I have accidentally changed graphics from switchable to discreet in BIOS and after restart all I get is black screen. I tried resetting the BIOS by shorting the jumpers beneath the WLAN card as per the manual but its still no good. The only thing it does after turning it on is that the HDD LED lights up for a second and then gone all black screen ...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently wondering how easy (or even if its possible) changing the processor in a studio 15 would be.
Secondly i'm curious as to expensive a new processor would cost, 2.5GHz preferably as my current processor is 2.0GHz.
My second question is: Can the graphics card be changed without soldering in the studio 15. I'm unsure whether the graphics card is integrated or not.
My current graphics card is: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 (256mb)
I was wondering how much a new card would cost and the difficulty to replace.
I bought a dv9000 about two years ago and recently the motherboard died. Since I'm not exactly rich at the moment I haven't bought a new laptop, but instead my father gave me his dv6286 because choose to upgrade.
But the geforce 7200 in the dv6268 isn’t any good for gaming, so I though if it was possible to take my geforce 7600 from the dv9000 and put it in the dv6286.
is it possible to change the internal wlan card from my acer Aspirer 5612 notebook?
I want to replace the internal Intel 3945 to a GigaByte GN-WI01GT with Atheros chipset.
Is there something I have to switch or activate or is it a simple replace of the hardware?
Or do I have to mod the bios? If yes, how does it work?
Can integrated graphics card be changed? I heard that it can be disabled by something called pgc-i port or something like that. is this possible with my dell laptop vostro 1540?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Acer Aspire 5100 using it mostly for busines and writing. Now, I'd like to watch some videos, have an webcam, and play games, however, the integrated video card handles none of this well. It's slow and will sputter on something as simple as a short 60 second video clip.
I maxed out the 4GB Ram, thinking that Vista was using too much but it did not help.
Then I discovered this:
Quote:
For gaming, the graphics speed is enhanced care of the ATI Radeon Xpress 1100graphics card, with 128 MB dedicated memory. The card can tap into an additional 384 MB from shared system memory, for a total of 512 MB.
I did some research and found that I could go into the BIOS and change the memory from 128 to 512. I tried it, found the setting, changed it, and thought I'd find success. However, Vista somehow read these actions as an error and a failure to start, and would not start........................
I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 with the Mobile Intel GMA X3100 in it as standard on the motherboard. Granted this isnt a great card for a lot of (or any) modern games, but I was wondering if it's possible to have another (better) graphics card put in it?..
Maybe a better processor too, because its got a Celeron 550, but the graphics card is priority at the mo.
I have recently become aware that my 5920G has an upgradeable graphics card. Mine is currently an Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS 256MB. What cards can I upgrade to?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI turned on the machine today and instead of the windows login page I was presented with a black screen with many strange characters. I dont understand what happened
I have used the GParted cd on this machine so I put that in and it crashed too.
I have an Acer Aspire 5585WXMi laptop, approx. 2 yrs old purchased in Singapore. It came with Intel's standard Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and I was wondering if there was any possibility of upgrading to the NVidia GPU? When I purchased the laptop I could have paid a little bit extra for the NVidia add-on but decided against (regretting now) so as far as I can tell it should be possible to add on the GPU module?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER 4930G laptop, which came with a P9500 processor, 4GB RAM and an idependant NVIDIA GeForce9600M GS (256MB) graphics card.
I'd like to upgrade my graphics card to a GF9650 GT (1GB), or an equivalent card from ATI.
Does anyone know is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on my 4930G laptop?
is it possible?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI know there has been a lot of threads questioning this and generaly speaking most people have said it is not possible, but i really dont want to believe it as its the only thing that lets my laptop down!
computer specification
processor: intel core 2 duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
Memory: 2GB
OS: vista home premium
Graphics card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family
is it possible to upgrade this graphics card?
if i cant then what would my best option be to have the same sort of specification as my current laptop, but with a decent graphics card? or invest in getting a desktop?
what this intel graphics card thing is and why it is so terrible for playing games?
if anybody knows whats going on, i've got an ACER 5810T, just upgraded to windows 7, and ive noticed that when the laptop is not plugged into the mains, every now and then the screen fades for a few seconds and then comes back. The strange thing is, the screen doesnt fade to darkness, instead it is as if the contrast changes before returning to normal again.
View 5 Replies View Relatedcan you update video cards on a laptop?
Mainly a acer aspire 7520-5311
it's first day of 2010 and my notebook's bios ..F@$k up after updating ..i'm so sad , i have it only one week, it's brand new.
And i'm asking have anyone heard any solution about that problem for 5810T?
I was playing Minecraft two days ago using the GeForce GT 730M graphics card not the integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics card when suddenly purple squares appeared on the game screen. The purple squares didn't appear any where else. The game crashed saying I had a bad driver. Then the laptop pop a blue screen saying VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. The laptop restarted as usual. I had this message before but further problems occurred. But this time is different.
After restarting I re-launched Minecraft but the game crashed saying I had a bad driver. I uninstalled the current driver using the programs and features and reinstalled the driver for my laptop found in Acer.com. The issue still continued. I went into Device Manager and found out that the graphics card had a code 43 issue. I found a solution online that said to install the newest driver on GeForce.com.
I did that and it seemed to remove the code 43 but when I went into NVIDIA GeForce Experience it said that my laptop didn't have a NVIDIA graphics card. Thinking it could of been a option that I changed that caused this, I did a refresh, and system restore to still see that my laptop wont recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M graphics card and that NVIDIA Driver Support Service was gone. It allows me to see when the NVIDIA GPU is in use. The system was cool when I started playing Minecraft when the problem happened.
System Specs:
Acer Aspire V3-571G-6622
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M with 2 GB of dedicated VRAM
Intel HD 4000 graphics
15.6" HD LED LCD
4 GB DDR3 Memory
Acer NPlify 802.11a/g/n + BT4.0
Windows 8 64-bit

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an aspire 5610z and it has the pentium dual core. I was wondering if it is possible to fit a better processor inside, maybe the core 2 duo or something else. Has it even been done with my type of laptop? Im really serious about doing it, but I need this question answered first. Also is there a way for my notebook to accept more than just 2gb of ram?
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhich would be fine... But there's nothing in the handbook about the right way to remove the back cover and i don't want to snap anything, however much vista needs 4GB of ram.
screws undone obviously but it still feels very firmly attached... what's the right way to take it off?
My notebook, Acer 5755G is after warranty and it's overheating. I have to clean a cooling system and change thermal paste. On the Internet I found few guides, but there people are dissembling this notebook almost completely... Do I have to do it or can I just remove a back cover to get access to cooling system?

I have successfully upgraded my CPU from a P8400(2.26) to a T9600 (2.8) so was reading through the MXM compatability thread and decided to pull my 9600m GT out just to double check which version it is, so I shut down the machine, removed the back and unscrewed the card, popped it out, comfirmed its the MXM-II type, reseated and rescrewed it back together.
Now I get a blank screen, external monitors dont work either.
I realised I forgot to remove the battery when removing the card, although machine was shut down.
I left it running for a bit with the back still off, felt the CPU and its hot as you would expect but the GPU was cold!
I have an Acer ASPIRE 5735-4624. It's a widescreen, I don't know if that matters(15.6" HD Acer CineCrystal LCD), It has:

I'm wondering what are some good options to upgrade to. I've seen a couple of card but I'm not too sure which is compatiable and what not. I'll list some of the ones I've seen in the next post. Plz let me know if there is any more info needed.
The cards I've seen:
*ATI (Radeon) 9200 SE AGP Graphics Accelorator
*ATI RADEON 9550 256MB AGP VIDEO CARD
*ATI Radeon 9700 AGP 128MB Graphics Card
*ATI Radeon 9800 Pro - 128MB DDR - AGP
*NVIDIA GEOFORCE 6200 LE

*Geforce 6200 512MB DDR2 AGP Graphics Card

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop has recently overheated, and after 2 years of serving me, I still want to keep it, for memories, and as a backup.
The ati x1400 has overheated inside of it, and only part of the display shows, rest are lines of colour :P.
Question is, I need an ati x1400 replacement. Or if it's possible the upgrade (to x1600).
well my laptops card melted recently and since my waranty is up i want to get a new one but the "offical" acer repairshop say that it costs 260$ (3650 512 ram) and i simply dont believe them as i have had problems with them in the past if anyone can help and tell me the price or some newer one that might be cheaper and have the same power.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a travelmate 5720g, which there is a mxmII slot that looks like it is possible to remove the current hd2600 and replace another one.
I have been searching around about graphics card upgrade on acer laptops, there are cases where people have upgraded from nvidia to ati and ati to nvidia sucessfully without problems.
Does that really mean as long as the mxm slot is capable of installing the graphics card, and upgraded your bios to the lastest version then it is just PLUG AND PLAY ?
are the Acer 5135's graphics card upgradeable? i was hoping to get maybe a little stronger than just 256 mb intel card inside there...If there is how much would they cost and where could i get them?
