if anybody knows whats going on, i've got an ACER 5810T, just upgraded to windows 7, and ive noticed that when the laptop is not plugged into the mains, every now and then the screen fades for a few seconds and then comes back. The strange thing is, the screen doesnt fade to darkness, instead it is as if the contrast changes before returning to normal again.
View 5 RepliesI set the power options to 50% brightness then click save changes and reboot, the display stays at 50% until about 30 seconds after i see the desktop and then the brightness goes to 100%
I have the brightness in the INTEL graphic properties, colour correction and brightness is set to -60 as low as it will go, and it says like that after reboot but the brightness still goes to 100%
Windows mobility center brightness does not fix the brightness either.
is it possible to change/upgrade the graph card on my acer aspire 5810T?

Im not sure if other owners of this laptop have this problem, but the screen display has a blue tint to it. Ive tried adjusting the color in the graphic property, but i can never seem to get it right so the colors on pictures are never accurately depicted when compared to my other laptops or monitors.

Pressing the screen bottom screen border resolves it for a split second then it occurs again, though resolves usually after pressing it at various points along the plastic lower edge maybe 3-6 times, sometimes with slight flickering of whites after. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy screen recently started getting a lot of faded white lines going horizontal and vertical across my screen causing the screen to blur/disorientated my screen. I can still navigate just fine but there is clearly something wrong here. I've plugged it into my hdmi's port on my tv and the image is just fine. Is it a wiring problem maybe? The lines are getting slightly more extreme and a little more colored... They lines of windows extend around the border all the way to the end if the screen.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI was cleaning my MBP today and I notice that at certain light angles, I can notic fading/discoloration in the finish where my palm normally rests. It's sort of the same effect as rubbing fine sandpaper over a painted surface.
I took pictures but it can't be noticed in pictures.
I think an investment in a palm gaurd would be worthwhile.

I have a new Dell Latitude. When I first started working with it, a box asked if I wanted the screen to adjust to ambient light. Being new at this, I said yes. Now, I have a monitor which is constantly getting brighter and dimmer even within a few seconds.

I suppose I'm going to have to do without a computer now to send this in to get it replaced instead of HP just sending me a replacement keyboard... Why do they insist on everything being sent into them? A keyboard replacement takes all of 5 minutes to do.

Recently I noticed that my touch screen sometimes starts to hits randomly at the bottom of the screen. This problem cause some windows became minimize and maximize on its own and when i'm watching video, the video keep pause, play and pause again. I tried to find any crack on the screen but found nothing.
My Aspire M (1.5 years old) was making a horrible noise, so I opened it up to find a very dirty fan. I cleaned the fan, but it still made noise. I bought a new fan and installed it. After closing it up and turning it on, it only gets to the ACER screen and then recycles.
I probably inadvertantly corrupted the BIOS, or is it something else? Can I flash the BIOS without having a working BIOS?
When I turn on my laptop ,ocassionaly, the screen turns white. At first i thought it was a driver issue because it would only happen when windows loaded. But now it does it when i turn it on before windows starts loading, leading me to believe that this is a hardware issue. does anyone know what i should replace in the laptop inorder to fix this problem?

when i switch the laptop on the screen comes on full white and then fades slowly to the bios screen (no hdd installed right now). I put a windows vista installation cd in to test it further and it faded slowly to the installation screen, everything moved in slow motion, the mouse cursor moved across the screen really slowly and leaves a trail. I've replaced the ribbon cable and that hasn't fixed it, it's not a motherboard fault that i know of because i've plugged an external monitor in and that worked so i've narrowed it down to either being a fault with the lcd or with the inverter.
i'll try to get a video of what i'm trying the explain, it's difficult, the screen sort of fades into view in blotches and patches all over.
Im running windows 8.1 64 bit Acer Aspire E1-470, I notice my screen keeps on flickering, its like a heartbeat impulse, it dims and gets back light again its not severe but it annoys me alot!

The laptop was sent off with a fault to the screen. It intermittently flickers, mainly when the screen is moved, but sometimes not. The laptop was sent off to Acer 3-4 weeks ago and was returned last week. A report was returned with the laptop and reads as follows:

And of course I'd been without it for 3 weeks and just wanted to turn it on again!! lol (On a sidenote, I had asked them to check the disk drive also, because back when I first got it, it struggled to read any type of disk. This explains the apparent replacement disk drive)................

The only way of solving this problem is to take out the power lead and the battery and start it up again. I dont want to have to do this everytime i start up my laptop.
This first happened after my laptop crashed (Frozen screen bussing through speakers) there was a lot running at the time, virus updates, windows updates etc.
I received this warning(attachment) this morning and ran malwarebytes and found nothing harmful.
Now my Acer screen saver has disappeared from the drop down menu(attachment).

I have got the top and sides of the front bevel off, but I cannot see how to get the bottom off and I do not want to damage it.
When I use to plug my laptop into the mains you could see the screen got a lot brighter as though it was a power surge. For some reason that no longer happens the display is quite dull and tough to read unless in a dark room!
There was a distinct difference to screen brightness between 'High performance' and 'Power saver' mode. This is no longer the case and the laptop seems stuck in power saver brightness!
I have an Aspire 5610 with 2G ram running vista home premium. I had a few explorer windows open, and was getting memory warnings. I shut a few windows down, and a few hours later, the screen turned blank. I reboot the computer, but the problem persists. Now it turns out if I remove the power supply, and run it on battery, everything is fine. As soon as I instert the power supply chord, screen goes blank (black). Upon removing the power supply, if I shut and open the screen, it works again (and it also shows me a warning message that the wireless is in use, and if I really want to turn the antenna off).
The screen obviously is fine, as it runs fine on battery. I don't understand what is happening as soon as I insert the power supply, and why upon removing the power supply, I get a warning on turning off the antenna.
just got my replacment 1810tz. last book had some trouble with the keyboard. now the brand new just wont boot up. has some fan blowing and once harddisc access and then nothing. i already tried Fn + F5/F6 keys, no result. also attached via hdmi to monitor - but not any flickering. even let it lay there for some hours wiithout batterypack attached. no result.
how to remove the bios battery, maybe this could solve it...?
