Acer :: Aspire 7520 - Cannot Play Anymore New Games Or Even Watch Any Movies On My Laptop
Jun 25, 2009
I have a big problem with my acer 7520. The problem is that i cannot play anymore new games or even watch any movies on my laptop. I got the laptop about a year and a half ago and everything worked great. I could watch movies even when other applications were open. I could play pretty demanding games on it that ran very well. And now about 3 months ago all that luxury stopped and i cant do any of those things anymore. Even an old game like rome total war runs at 9 fps or lower on the main map, i didnt even bother going into battle. Movies stutter and skip frames, and sometimes even get stuck on the same frame with the sound still going as if everything is fine.
planning to buy a laptop for all kind of purposes: watching movies, converting them to dvd, play games, surf internet, use word etc.
I am thinking of buying Dell XPS 1530 for $1778 without tax (btw my budget is under $2000) heres the laptop config:
Additional Info:
Now i really need ur views on this btw as u can see i am saving $221. Also is it a good choice to upgrade to T9300 for $200 or i should stick with T8100?
i live in Canada Also can someone please confirm if this laptop includes: VGA output for RS232cable, firewire, and svideo. Also would i be able to attach my external desktop speakers or not ? i am also very confuse about the battery like not sure which one to get like 9 or 6 cell ..cuz i heard that 9 cell would be very heavy compare to 6 and weird shape? Lastly is the grainy screen problem still around like i have to tell the representative for LG screen or not ?
Whenever i play a song, watch a video or even durign skype calls and games, my sound slutters. The problem is occuring since my laptop overheated (left it on the bed). How do i fix it?

My Aspire 5738 is hooked up with AOC brand 27" HDMI external monitor by HDMI cable. This monitor is without any speakers. I made this monitor PRIMARY to 15" Aspire 5738 screen.
When I play a DVD/CD using ROM drive NO SOUND comes out from built-in speakers of Aspire laptop. But picture runs on AOC monitor which is not useful. Aspire 5738 has TWO sound processors in device manager. One is Intel (Default) and other one ReaLTek, both are HD quality.
"How to configure (If Possible) any of the TWO sound processors to HDMI" OR any other practical solutions?

I am buying a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Intel core 2 P8700 processor rated at 2.53GHZ with 3MB of L2 cache, 4GB DDR2 800MHZ ram, 500GB hard drive rated at 5200RPM, ATI 4330 Radeon HD video card with 256MB of VRAM, and Sound blaster software enabled AUDIO Card.
Also, there are some other stuff like Bluetooth and bluray drive etc etc. It all comes with WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM WITH 64BIT. It has intel GM45 chipset which supports 1066 FSB and it also supports ddr 2 and ddr3....can i upgrade to ddr3 late on since intel states that it supports both? http://www.intel.com/products/notebo...5-overview.htm
Now the question, i m NOT going to play any GAMES on this laptop but i would watch alot of 1080P movies or u could say i would watch bluray movies. Is this laptop going to be sufficient enough to handle all high resolution videos? including YouTube's 1080P videos?....
AGAIN, i m not playing any GAMES on it....should i get this laptop or should i get studio 1558? since i m not playing any games, do u think i m jus gonna waste more money on studio
I was thinking of picking up a 1810T with an SU7300 and 4GB DDR2; I want something portable, good on battery, and for (very) light gaming.
How would the 4500MHD handle KOTOR, WarCraft III, or TorchLight? These aren't very demanding games and I was hoping to be able to play them on the go...
My 2 weeks old HP Mini 200-4220tu makes random static noises (ZZZZZTT sound) when i play music/watch youtube vids.. i have installed/reinstalled idt high def audio codec from the hp website but the problem still persists.. i already performed hard reset (as i have read from other posts here: remove battery and power for a few mins) to no avail.. the static sound wont go away ...
Just bought a new HP Elitebook 8540p Windows 7 Professional 64 bit energy star laptop. I do a lot of video encoding, Photo shows. Was working fine, but then just stopped playing DVDs. What I can do?, it has no warranty.
I have replaced the HD on my HP ENVY 17 3D, then I upgraded the OS from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. From the HP site, I can not find the software to play BD movies.
My laptop has been freezing for a while, and it would create a distinct buzzing noise about 10-20 minutes into a game. It originally started when my motherboard was replaced for a malfunctioning video card and then when I reported this issue a technician came and replaced the motherboard again and the heat sink + fan. The issue is still there and diagnostics comes up with no problems. The only parts that haven't been replaced in my computer are the HDD, the processor and the RAM. I don't think its a problem with the HDD as using it for anything else works, so I was wondering if it was possibly a problem with the CPU.
I was wondering if its possible to install games onto my laptops second HDD. Right now, its the D: drive. I tried installing BF2 to this drive but an error said its "unsafe." Is there any way around this? The HDD is a Hitachi HTS723225L9A362 ATA.
specs: HP 6735s Laptop AMD Turion X2 Dual Core RM-72 2.1Ghz, 4GB 800DDR2, 320GB 15.4" DVD RW LightScribe Writer, WLAN, 8 Cell Battery, Webcam, Bluetooth 2.0+, Onboard ATI Radeon HD3200 Windows Vista Home Premium,
I have a new Studio 1537, Core 2 Duo T6400 (2mb cache), 250 GB HD, 3 GB ram, Vista Home premium and a Radeon HD 3450 with 256 MB dedicated graphics.
What sort of games will play on this.
I have a desktop PC that play a few games on, Splinter cell and Tour of duty. These games are quite old so only list XP as the operating system. Will they play on Vista and is the Radeon HD 3450 good enough.
What other shoot em up type games will play on this system.
I currently have GoW, GRAW2, COD4, Frontlines, Oblivion(not installed), STALKER, Crysis, COH, BF2(not installed), BF2142 (not installed),and World In Conflict, but losing interest on them FAST.
Please suggest some good looking, and fun to play games!
I just want to warn you that you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, I tested all New VAIO models at store, and they all have the same Keyboard issue, and that's: Let's try FIFA 09 for example, while playing you'll see that there is a problem in the keyboard, when holding arrows Down and Right or Down and Left together to move players, then any letter button to (pass, sliding tackle, sprint or whatever else), the game doesn't response to the letter press.
To confirm that issue, open Word or NotePad, hold Down and Right or Down and Left together, then a letter button for example "s", the letter "s" isn't printed.
So you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, you have to get a GamePad or an external keyboard.
