View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a big problem with my acer 7520. The problem is that i cannot play anymore new games or even watch any movies on my laptop. I got the laptop about a year and a half ago and everything worked great. I could watch movies even when other applications were open. I could play pretty demanding games on it that ran very well. And now about 3 months ago all that luxury stopped and i cant do any of those things anymore. Even an old game like rome total war runs at 9 fps or lower on the main map, i didnt even bother going into battle. Movies stutter and skip frames, and sometimes even get stuck on the same frame with the sound still going as if everything is fine.
My specs are:
AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
2GB DDR2
NVIDIA GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M
My 2 weeks old HP Mini 200-4220tu makes random static noises (ZZZZZTT sound) when i play music/watch youtube vids.. i have installed/reinstalled idt high def audio codec from the hp website but the problem still persists.. i already performed hard reset (as i have read from other posts here: remove battery and power for a few mins) to no avail.. the static sound wont go away ...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just brought a Hp Pavillion 15 Notebook (Windows 8.1), and its been working fine. Ive been in a skype call with my friends while playing a game (meaning skype is minimised). But all of a sudden, the sound stops and i can hear my game, but not skype. I maximised skype and then my friends could hear me and i could hear them, but everytime i minimise skype i cant hear them and they can't hear me. I tried this with spotify, and i could hear the music even when spotify was minimised.

When I take the laptop out of a sleep mode it goes immediately back into sleep mode. I do get the screen to enter my password but it's only there for like 2 seconds.
The second time I take it out, it works fine. Just a bit annoying that I have to do it twice pretty much 95 % of the time.

The second day i tried to watch something on youtube and it showed a green screen. I thought it was just the video so i clicked on the next video, it was also green. I turned on my NFL sports videos and same thing there, so i think it may be the Notebook.

I have a refurbished aspire 6930G, fairly new, and for some reason it will not play my GTA IV disc. The drive just makes a whirring noise as it tries to autoplay and nothing happens. I've tried the disc in other machines and it works fine, and my computer has no trouble playing other CDs, DVDs etc. It's just that particular one. Does anybody have any idea why that might be, and what I could do to fix it?
I'm running vista home premium and I have service pack 2.
it installed but keeps crashing at startup! i ahve no codecs, i hear it may be caused by realtek or because vista is fail. i came hear cause maybe someone with an aspire 6920g or with an acer can help. so if any fellow aspire 6920g know how to fix the crash at startup that would be nice, and i already updated the patch.

A really good dedicated Graphics card, could play Civ 4 at fairly high settings, 1280x800 no problems.
Now I tried to play the ESiR rip of Saving Private Ryan, no juice.
I tried it in Win 7, nothing, I installed Win 7 RC1, still couldn't do it.
I'm talking a new installation, no software, just VLC.
NOW, the funny thing is my friend, on his Black Macbook (2.4GHz, 4GB ram, bad Intel Int GFX) can play blueray rips PERFECTLY, while doing a million other things.
SO I buy his laptop because he upgraded, install a fresh copy of OSX, and guess what? It still dosen't play (although the hardware is 1000x better than HP's) I don't understand why VLC uses ALL of my CPU, and when I close EVERYTHING, and restart finder 8 times because I can't close it, the thing still stutters. I can watch stuff, but it will freeze on a frame and stutter.
It's not just private ryan, I have Terminator 2, 3, 1, and a lot of other movies.
I've tried quicktime, Realplayer, Nice Player, VLC, WMP, ect.
My friend says it might be the MKV file container, because when he was playing them on his brand new uMBP, they went fine, but he couldn't skip through the video without it glitching (pause and unpause to shake off the 'blocks'). I've never really been able to skip through a video without it hanging or getting the 'blocks'. Even a 10mb AVI sometimes gives me issues. He said it was a bad rip because he couldn't freely 'scroll' through the video.
Could this be some hardware issue?
720P AVIs do seem fine, but everyone puts their stuff into MKV. I thought MKV was better than AVI.
If I convert these into H.264 or something, will that solve the problem?
Forgive me if this a stupid question. I'm a Mac newb. In windows I had my music sitting in my "My Music" folder and Itunes pulled from that. If I deleted something out of there I couldn't listen to the song.
When I got my Mac I moved all my music to the "Music" folder. I then dragged them into Itunes. Some time later I noticed the mp3s seem to be duplicated in the "Music" and "Itunes" subfolders.
My question is: Can I clear out my "Music" folder?
i have recently bought acer aspire 6930 g laptop but when i play song with windows media player it play normally but when it turn on wow effect and tru bass of windows media player i found that the sound of song stop although it is still playing and when i turn wow effect off the problem continue but when i turn wow effect off and close windows media player and play the song again the song paly normally as this problem does not occur till i turn on wow effect of windows media player also i notice that when i turn on laptop its vista boot time is slow ..is this slow boot time is normal in acer aspire 6930 g and you should know that my model of acer aspire 6930g has processor core 2 duo t6400 2 ghz and 2 mgb cach and 4 gb ddr2 ram and has dobly home theater and 1000 gb hard disk.

I use my laptop almost everyday, and it has been fine up until today. I have an HP Envy dv4. I rarely shut it down--I usually just close the lid and leave it like that until I'm ready to use it again. Today, when I opened it and logged in, I went to Youtube. However, no sound will play. I didn't have this problem the last time I used the PC, and can't figure out what's wrong. I don't have any sound with headphones plugged in, and I don't have any sound when I try to use just the PC speakers.
I've already made sure the sound is definitely on--I have muted it and unmuted it several times, raised and lowered the volume by using the f9 and f10 keys, and nothing happens. I've tried playing media that is stored on my PC, and no sound there either. I've also tried using Rosetta Stone, and it won't open because it says it can't find any sound output.
I have restarted the computer several times, scanned for viruses, and scanned for updates. Nothing has worked.
I recently noticed my Pavilion dv7 entertainment notebook won't play sound through the tv anymore. The picture is on the tv but sound is running through the laptop speakers? I never had a problem with this until now. When i open up the sound options, the ATI HDMI output says it's not connected and so it wont let me select it, but it is connected?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my HP Probook 4530s where sound sometimes won't play. I downloaded the approriate audio driver for my computer. If I click on an application that needs administrator permissions and the User Account Control pops up, it won't play the system sound like it normally does. If I click on the speaker icon on the bottom right and adjust the volume slider it doesn't make a sound. I've also noticed that when I stream any type of video on the internet, the video won't play until the sound works again. Sometimes the video plays with no sound, then the sound catches up. I've tried many different browsers but the issue keeps happeneing regarless.
When my computer ran Windows 7, the audio worked fine. Videos always played, and system sounds always executed on cue. My motherboard got replaced at the end of last year due to overheating so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The weird thing is that this issue isn't consistent. One minute the sound could be working flawlessly, but two minutes later the sound just stops working.
I could try and capture a video of the issue I'm having and post it on Youtube, but it's difficult since the issue is sporadic. If I do get a video of it, I'll be sure to post the link.
