When I take the laptop out of a sleep mode it goes immediately back into sleep mode. I do get the screen to enter my password but it's only there for like 2 seconds.
The second time I take it out, it works fine. Just a bit annoying that I have to do it twice pretty much 95 % of the time.
Whenever I play a song, watch a video or even during skype calls and games, my sound stutters. The problem is occurring since my laptop overheated (left it on the bed). How do i fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedVista's defafault settings for "Power Saver" sets the minimum and maximum processor state as ZERO percent for battery. I don't understand this. If I open performance monitor the processor is shown as 80% max on AC power. If I disconnect the AC power while on "Power Saver" the monitor shows 40% max frequency. Why ZERO percent as default settings, to me that would mean it wouldn't even run.
Certainly for running light stuff it runs a lot cooler, the fan hardly cutting in at all.
My Father has given me his Acer Aspire 5315. It is full of stuff i dont even need. It is quite slow aswell. I was just wondering is there a way i can delete all programs but keep Windows. I would like it so it exactly how it was in it came out of the box with all drivers installed. I only want to do this because i dont have a Windows Vista Disc or any Driver's for the laptop.

View 4 Replies View Relatedrecently purchased an HP ENVY x360 - 15-u011dx Touch Laptop. Try to set up two external monitors using an HDMI splitter. I can "extend" the desktop, but both screens are showing the same image, which isn't what I want. Can i set up two external monitors with this laptop using a splitter (this was what I was told would work when I purchased the unit along with the two monitors.) Previous laptops had HDMI and VGA ports allowing for two monitors. This laptop (as well as most newer ones) no longer have a VGA port.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing the projector setting, I'm noticing a slight lag when I open/close any of the applications (ie: there is a momentary pause before the window either appears/disappears).
The external monitor is a Samsung Central Station (1920x1080) and connects to the laptop wirelessly via a USB/UWB dongle.
I have an Aspire 6930 that suddenly died and will not power on. The LED power button was dark and unresponsive. I performed a power reset and the blue light on the power button came back on until I pressed the button to try to restart the laptop. When I did that, the blue LED immediately went dark and stayed that way until I did another power reset. It never gets to the point of anything powering on. Is it a problem with the battery or it the laptop toast?
This is a real bummer since I just replaced the hard drive a few weeks ago and replaced Windows Vista with Linux Mint (which btw is blazing fast compared to Vista).
Acer 5253 - Will not power on, battery or on AC power. Have tried all the suggested solutions but none have worked. Is it possible to get maintenace instructions (disassembly, where certain items are located, etc)?

My Acer Aspire 5860 is a great laptop.
Other than the power issue I am having.
It is just over a year old ( out of warranty)
It won't power up from the battery ( which is still in good condition, hardy used)
I bought a new battery, just in case ( it is charged and is new)
The battery will charge in the laptop, but won't run from the battery.
A freinds Acer 5050 won't power up. He's has asked me to look at it. When tha AC power is connected there is still no indication of power no lights, No power.
I have tried all the followingRemoved battery & AC power held down start button for 15,20 & 30 seconds and retried
Tried several AC power supplies
Removed memory & Swopped around memory,Swopped memory
Had back off & checked connections (All seem ok)
Non of the above works.
Have me a dead Acer Aspire 3680. My son was using it and it just went black, with no power and no signs of life.
I basically get nothing when I plug in the power and hit the power button. I removed the battery and tested with just the AC adapter. Still no signs of life. No LEDs, etc.
I completely disassembled the beast to see if the power board had the jack still securely attached and it is still fine.
I had the AC adapter tested, so it is fine.
So I guess my question is, how can I verify whether this is a problem with the MB/CPU or if it is a problem with the little power board not delivering power to the motherboard?
I can check for voltage at the battery charge pins. I'm seeing voltage on 3 of the 5 pins. The large one being ground, I'm assuming. Should I see voltage on the remaining 4?
I don't want to replace the MB/CPU and have it be the power board that is the problem, and vice-versa.
I'm having major trouble with my laptop (an Acer Aspire 3660) which is about 2 years old now. I don't know if there is a problem with the internal power socket or something else, but sometimes when it is plugged it just won't run off the mains or charge the battery. Sometimes I can get it to charge up, seemingly by rotating the power cord cable but at other times it will randomly go to battery even though absolutely nothing has moved, and sometimes it will go to battery power with the slightest little nudge. I don't think this could be related to the battery as the battery seems to work fine (although it does drain quickly I guess it's pretty old in laptop terms). Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions? I bought a new power cable (completely new including power pack and the plug end) but the problem still happens.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi just replaced my old ac adapter as there was a loose connection and you had to have the wire in a certain place for it to charge. now i just bought a new power adapter plugged it in and all was good for about an hour. then all of a sudden the laptop decided to switch it self to battery power then back to ac power then back to battery. so i was like ok this is strange. its seems to b completley random when it does it. sometimes it will go back to ac power othertimes it will stick on battery so i have take out the connecter and plug it back in and it will charge. i thought of maby taking tha battery out all together but then it just cuts out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 7250-3281 that had been sitting for some time.
I plugged in the AC and after a while the battery indicator went from orange to blue but the laptop will not power on.
Tried a power reset, nothing.
Been plugged in to the charger for about 2 hours now.
This laptop is rarely used, so not sure what could be the problem. This last time, I had inadvertently removed the power block from the wall to plug something else in. Since then it will not power up at all. The blue light comes on but nothing else. I don't hear the drive spinning or anything and screen just stays black. I held power button down for 60 seconds and finally saw normal booting screen and then went back to black screen.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy Acer Extensa 4420. A few days ago while on my laptop the BSOD suddenly popped up and my laptop shut down. A restarted it and while it did log in, I got notices saying a lot of stuff was corrupt. I ran chkdsk to see if i could diagnose the issue, and it stated the system volume was corrupt. As time went by using windows became erratic. I decided to try to restore my acer back to factory settings using the eRecovery program. This program would stop working every time right before the process began. Eventually windows stopped booting up at all. leaving my at a boot screen the endlessly looped. I installed Ubuntu shortly after, and managed to get my PQSERVICE partition recognized by the GRUB bootloader and Ubuntu itself (as a mounted drive). The problem is that whenever I do boot to the PQSERVICE partition and look through the options in the recovery center, there is no restore to factory default settings.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got an Acer Aspire 5315 and for some reason the laptop has stopped working correctly. The laptop will turn on and work fine when the battery is in, but when I try and charge the battery from the PSU plugged in nothing happens and the battery is starting to drain. I've taken the battery out and tried to power the laptop up but there seems to be no power getting to the laptop. The PSU is showing a green light on the block. I have also been advised that it could be the AC socket on the laptop, but I've now replaced this and its still not working.
I haven't got another PSU. Could there be any other reason why the laptop wont turn on?
