Aug 3, 2012My 2 weeks old HP Mini 200-4220tu makes random static noises (ZZZZZTT sound) when i play music/watch youtube vids.. i have installed/reinstalled idt high def audio codec from the hp website but the problem still persists.. i already performed hard reset (as i have read from other posts here: remove battery and power for a few mins) to no avail.. the static sound wont go away ...

Jul 23, 2014I have a HP 15-r011dx Notebook PC with windows 8.1 and when on youtube or CNN videos, the speakers carack and pop. The commercials that CNN play prior to the story are fine as is a DVD or my loaded music. I relly do not want to reinstall. I have had the computer 3 weeks and I am not sure if it has been there from the beginning. I have updated everything from HP including BIOS and have tried a different browser and adjusted volume levels. Windows has done updates.

Nov 26, 2014I use my laptop almost everyday, and it has been fine up until today. I have an HP Envy dv4. I rarely shut it down--I usually just close the lid and leave it like that until I'm ready to use it again. Today, when I opened it and logged in, I went to Youtube. However, no sound will play. I didn't have this problem the last time I used the PC, and can't figure out what's wrong. I don't have any sound with headphones plugged in, and I don't have any sound when I try to use just the PC speakers.
I've already made sure the sound is definitely on--I have muted it and unmuted it several times, raised and lowered the volume by using the f9 and f10 keys, and nothing happens. I've tried playing media that is stored on my PC, and no sound there either. I've also tried using Rosetta Stone, and it won't open because it says it can't find any sound output.
I have restarted the computer several times, scanned for viruses, and scanned for updates. Nothing has worked.

Mar 5, 2013I purchased my laptop from Frys electronics June of last year. For the past few weeks, whenever I play video or listen to music, it sometimes stops for a few seconds, plays some sound that sound like static feedback then continues as normal. I have no clue what the issue is. What could it be, and should I send my beloved PC in to get it looked at?
Since I bought it, I have manually put in a Blu-Ray burner, has this affected my warranty?
I also upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8

Jun 5, 2014When listeing to music using headphones/earphone the sound effects are terrible it echoes, off-pitches.It happens both while listeing youtube videos and while listeing to music/videos stored on my system. I don't remeber if i made any configuration changes in the SOUND setting from the control panel. But I cannot reset it to normal.

HP ProBook 4720s Audio :: Sound On Headphone Jack Has Very Little Dynamic Range - Music Squashed
Jun 5, 2014Speakers in the laptop play music fine. When I use the headphone jack the music in my headphones has very little dynamic range. The music sounds squashed. The loud parts are limited and the soft parts are raised to the point that I can hear the background noise in the recording. I have never had this problem on any other PC.
I am listening to iTunes, Soundforge and any other program that has audio.

Sep 18, 2014I have an HP Envy Ultrabook 4-1130us and the F6, F7, and F8 buttons aren't working as command controls for music anymore. All my other F1-F12 buttons work except those three. This has happened before and I thought it was due to iTunes not being updated. I updated iTunes and the buttons still aren't working. I ran a diagnostic test on my keyboard and the test says that nothing is wrong-which is partially true because every other button except F6, F7, and F8 are working.

Dec 5, 2013I'm having an issue with my HP Probook 4530s where sound sometimes won't play. I downloaded the approriate audio driver for my computer. If I click on an application that needs administrator permissions and the User Account Control pops up, it won't play the system sound like it normally does. If I click on the speaker icon on the bottom right and adjust the volume slider it doesn't make a sound. I've also noticed that when I stream any type of video on the internet, the video won't play until the sound works again. Sometimes the video plays with no sound, then the sound catches up. I've tried many different browsers but the issue keeps happeneing regarless.
When my computer ran Windows 7, the audio worked fine. Videos always played, and system sounds always executed on cue. My motherboard got replaced at the end of last year due to overheating so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The weird thing is that this issue isn't consistent. One minute the sound could be working flawlessly, but two minutes later the sound just stops working.
I could try and capture a video of the issue I'm having and post it on Youtube, but it's difficult since the issue is sporadic. If I do get a video of it, I'll be sure to post the link.

When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?
I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.

It had a few sound problems ( not that annoying but I'd rather get rid of them ^^ ) with my subwoofer, now and again it did some annoying sound like grzzzz when it went to the bass. I had to change the sound to the normal settings, then go back to the high definition sound. ( the one with 6 or 7 different "speakers", instead of the normal stereo one which has only 2, Left and Right. )
Sometimes, my music stopped playing "problems with the audio card" or something.
So I decided to get rid of those problems by installing the latest ( i think ) realtek audio driver.
After the installation, i realised that :
1. The sound didn't work anymore AT ALL
2. When I went in that audio sound properties, it only showed me the stereo, and I can't see the 2nd one which had a better sound quality ( more speakers, more 3d sound .. )
Anyway, I just would like to know if the weird noise coming from the subwoofer is a big problem, and if I should get it back to the shop, or if it's only a driver problem.
And I also would like to know how to get my sound back, and my high quality + subwoofer aswell.
