View 2 RepliesI have a HP 15-r011dx Notebook PC with windows 8.1 and when on youtube or CNN videos, the speakers carack and pop. The commercials that CNN play prior to the story are fine as is a DVD or my loaded music. I relly do not want to reinstall. I have had the computer 3 weeks and I am not sure if it has been there from the beginning. I have updated everything from HP including BIOS and have tried a different browser and adjusted volume levels. Windows has done updates.

From the last few days i am facing some problems in audio..when i am opening my laptop the sound system is working well...but when i am not continuing any audio application( busy in some other work..) and after sometime say 20-30minutes when i am opening any audio or video file it is running without any sound..when i am restarting my computer again audio device works...if i am not using the audio files after opening my computer also this problem happens after sometimes when i play some audio files.

When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?
I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.
I'm having an issue with my HP Probook 4530s where sound sometimes won't play. I downloaded the approriate audio driver for my computer. If I click on an application that needs administrator permissions and the User Account Control pops up, it won't play the system sound like it normally does. If I click on the speaker icon on the bottom right and adjust the volume slider it doesn't make a sound. I've also noticed that when I stream any type of video on the internet, the video won't play until the sound works again. Sometimes the video plays with no sound, then the sound catches up. I've tried many different browsers but the issue keeps happeneing regarless.
When my computer ran Windows 7, the audio worked fine. Videos always played, and system sounds always executed on cue. My motherboard got replaced at the end of last year due to overheating so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The weird thing is that this issue isn't consistent. One minute the sound could be working flawlessly, but two minutes later the sound just stops working.
I could try and capture a video of the issue I'm having and post it on Youtube, but it's difficult since the issue is sporadic. If I do get a video of it, I'll be sure to post the link.
The GT20L DVDRAM Drive in my Probook 4510S is not detecting audio CD's or software CD's but it does seem to run video DVD's OK.
I have tried the Microsoft Fixit tool, which says there is a problem but it can't fix it.
II have checked the registry for upper & lower filters but there are no filter entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrenControlSetControlClass(4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318.
I have tried creating a registry subkey.

I have uninstalled the driver, removed the drive, refitted the drive and allowed auto-detection and installation of the drive, all to no avail.
I have, of course, tried updating the driver but each time the system says that the best driver is already installed.
I can't any favourable driver for hp probook 450s g1 ati audio drive for windows 8.1 pro.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSpeakers in the laptop play music fine. When I use the headphone jack the music in my headphones has very little dynamic range. The music sounds squashed. The loud parts are limited and the soft parts are raised to the point that I can hear the background noise in the recording. I have never had this problem on any other PC.
I am listening to iTunes, Soundforge and any other program that has audio.
Over the last two weeks the audio will not play on the computer. I can see the music or vedio engaged but not sound is coming out.

The sound disappears in my HP pAvilion Touchsmart when I open some videos online, like Facebook etc. I always ned to restart when that happens. This does not happen every time, but it always happen.

I dont know what got changed but the windows sound like the bell and the chime take about 10 seconds to play. i can not use windows media player is said the drived is out of date but I checked and the update said I have the most current software. View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, well the day before yesterday I was trying to watch Youtube but when I clicked on a video it had no sound. I thought it was Youtube, so I exited the site and thought I'd wait a little bit. So then I went to Spotify to listen to some music. I kept clicking and clicking and nothing was happening. Then I noticed a blue notice at the top that said something about my soundcard not working properly.
I then checked everything on my computer to see if it had sound. Windows Media Player...no, videos on Facebook...nope, nothing was working. At first I thought it was my daughter. I let her watch Youtube when she lays down for a nap. I came in the other day and she was hitting all kinds of buttons on my computer. I stopped her though and everything seemed fine. I also remember my computer updating that day. Could it be that something went wrong with the update? I don't know if that's possible or not.
And also, what is a soundcard. Do I have to buy it or do I download it???
I went to Yahoo answers and someone said to uninstall the drivers. I did that and then reinstalled them and it worked. The rest of that day I had sound on everything except for Facebook. Yesterday night it happened again and the sound has not returned since but my computer sounds are still working. When I logged on the computer made the log in sound it usually makes. I also tried to listen to a video with headphones and it still did not work. Again, I uninstalled the drivers and then re installed them and got nothing.
