i have a problem with my acer 6920G. From time to time when i put my computer on I get this windows xp (while i'm running vista) loading screen and Acer Arcade Deluxe gets booted. (Even though i uninstalled it?) So i'd like to know if there is any solution for this problem.
I'm just wondering if AAD comes with the Cyberlink H.264 codec - the one that enables GPU decoding. Because if it does, I have a reason to install that thing back on my system.
Here's how you can check. Open up Windows Media Player. Right-click on the top bar, go to Help, then About Windows Media Player. Click the Technical Support Information link in that box, and your Internet browser will open with an HTML file with all your codecs. Save a copy of that HTML, upload it somewhere like RapidShare/MegaUpload, and post the link here.
I'll report back with my findings - if it means we don't need to buy CoreAVC or another decoder, I'm all for it.
i've recently bought an acer aspire 5739G and i've noticed that the notebook also boots up when i press the arcade deluxe key. After the boot screen with the acer logo i just get a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen.
I even tried booting like this with an audio CD or DVD inside, thinking it's some sort of multimedia mode, but with no luck.
I downloaded the latest updates for Acer Arcade Deluxe a couple of days ago, using the Live Update feature within the program, and noticed today that McAfee has quarantined two files related to this program.
The files are both located in c:program filesacer arcade deluxeplaymovievideofilter. The first is BCMDFILTER.DLL, this is detected as Artemis!2309D0D4349A (Trojan) and the other is CLDABCD.DLL, detected as Artemis!202C3E6FA905 (Trojan).
Can anyone advise on these files please? Are they trojans or are they legitimate? I have forwarded the files to McAfee and have no idea whether to allow these files or not.
I'm playing a film through the arcade deluxe on an Acer Aspire 8942g i7 running windows 7 home premium, and the music sounds excellent, however the speech is exceptionally quiet, is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing to get the sound how it should be?
im going to clean upgrade to win 7 64 bit, after i do that i know acer do drivers for web cam ect... but can i download acer software eg Empowering Technology, Acer Arcade Deluxe ect.
I've been working on this issue on my own for about a week now. I'm not entirely sure how to start explaining, so I'll just do a rundown of the noticable issues. Â Hovering over the speaker icon gives me the text, "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." I use the internal speakers, and I always have my headphones plugged in. Audio playback troubleshooting doesnt give me anything (though at one point during my progress, it said that my audio device was disabled.)Â Â Device management has been confusing at best. I can't seem to get the Realtek W8.1 drivers to properly download, even after finding the Acer-support driver.
i turn on my computer again and it goes to acer arcade instanton. i exit it and then when vista boots up it tells me to chkdsk. im suspicious but i skip it... when i login it tells me that my user profile is messed and thata bunch of stuff is corrupt. i then do chkdsk and luckily it manages to repair it and i still have my files. however all of my settings and user accounts are gone... also a lot of things dont feel right.
i think after backing up i might do a reinstall. just to confirm, if i use the recovery dvd, D:/ will not be touched right? (D:/ is where my files will be saved)
I have seen closed threads on this subject on this forum, but not found a "this worked" conclusion. However, I'm hoping that someone may know the answer, so here I go.
An accidental press (a cable fell on it) of the Acer Arcade button when the machine was turned off caused it to start up and install Acer Arcade (couldn't stop it installing) which appears to load in a cut down Windows XP shell in a separate partition and should, I'm told, switch back to the main VISTA environment on shutting down - but it doesn't! The machine just goes into hibernation mode!
I have searched the "net", spent a long time on the phone with a Technician, and basically nothing has worked - can get into the BIOS and have turned off D2D which was enabled, can't get to Windows Safe Mode, or VISTA. I can get into various forms of recovery options, but they can't find the operating system, etc etc!
I'm facing full recovery and losing everything that hasn't been backed up and spending ages reinstalling everything, which I don't want to have to do if I can help it! Also, I could go through this whole process and still risk the same thing happening again in the future, which is really frightening! So if I have to do that does anybody know of any way I could disable this awful button afterwards - this is supposed to be a working laptop, not a games and video toy!
I've installed a second hd in my 8935g for an xp install, and got a couple of q's before I get stuck in.
1. is there way to install windows XP as a "genuine" acer oem install "like the "genuine win 7 install procedure"?
2. And is there info on ways to recreate the "acer arcade" button usage to boot win 7 and a full xp from the new disc depending on wether I press power button or media button.?
I've done some searching and found some good info, especially re ACHI slipstreaming, but haven't found anyone using the arcade button for an alternative boot method (other than to force different video card in win 7)
I have an Acer Aspire 6930 and it has the easy launch button for the Arcade Utility. I can not get it to launch and I do not see it in the programs. How can I tell if I have the Arcade Utility or not even though the button is there? The WLAN and internet buttons work but not the bluetooth or arcade ones. I'v not found any answers on the web.
I erased all my data from my computer (Aspire V5-561p-6823) I want to download the Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater 7.5.1.1  in my computer .. but I don't know where I can do it ! I've tryed everything and I still haven't found it.
Was using the Acer Arcade and was informed about the latest patch by the Live Update.
I ran the install patch and during install the McAfee informed me that two of the files were trojams and had to be removed. The files were CL26934.RRA and CLDO7416.RRA, so now when I stick my blu-ray into the drive I get an unexpected error from the Acer Arcade and it won't run.
So where did the files go, and why would ACER put out a patch that conflicts with the pre-installed anti-virus?
I just recently upgraded to Vista Home Premium 64-bit on my Studio 1737 laptop. Can anyone tell me the best method to determine what drivers from
Dell I have and which ones I need? I went to 'Drivers and Downloads' on Dell.com, but I cannot tell which ones are already installed other then the obvious(quickset, the wifi card driver, etc.) ......
has anyone of you new owners of XPSS16 login to the link below, register and download the pre-installed software for your laptop? well,
i've tried and got registered but right after i pressed Register System and allow Syspro.exe to run, nothing happens.
this is frustrating. the SW like PowerDVD for bluray, Roxio and face recognition are not part of the CDs included and we new owners supposed to login, register and download the SW ourselves .....
Heres my problem: For some reason while I download my computer becomes unusable. Everything completely slows down. I cant even type normally because i type faster than it shows up on the screen. Trying to listen to music doesnt work either cause it just skips. Same with browsing the internet. its like my laptop becomes stoned.
Ive contacted XPS support and they didnt help. I was with them for like 2 hours and they couldnt figure anything out. At the end they just told me to reinstall the OS.
Ive had this problem for quite a while now. Ive reinstalled Vista and it still has the problem. You can see my specs on my sig, but I'm currently on Vista Home Premium cause reinstalled the OS.
My son's desktop (HP Pavilion 500-164) keeps disconnecting from our wireless interner (Netgear 03 router) when downloading. We have reset the modem, changed the channel, installed the network driver from HP website, and went through all the troubleshooting tips. He is receiving an error message when booting up (there was a problem starting C:WindowsSystems32LogiLDA.dll the specified module could not be found). Could this be related to the problem we are having with his internet connection?
I have a sony fz-180e and i had to reinstall my whole operating system and i lost the viao camera capture utility application and i cant use my camera what so ever, can any one help me with this? I need to get the softeware again but i cant find it ANYWHERE.....
I have problem to check HP Updates using HP Support Assistant for last two months. It always fail downloading updates. Latest analysis was at 9 Oct 2011.  How to fix this problem? When I check latest version of HP Support Assistant, it says it is the latest version.  My computer is HP Pavilion dv7-6107tx Entertainment Notebook PC.
i have a Sony VGN-AW31M/H and the Vaio Update site says there are 2 updates available, a WinBD one and a bios update. When trying to download either of these, a small download window appears with 0/xxxxxxxx bytes but no progress happens. Eventually it times out with the error above.
I have tried resetting IE cache, deleting the C:update folder, adding the vaio update exe to the windows firewall, im not sure what else i can try.
I have an Acer 5610-4610 system. It was repartitioned to one XP drive for several years. I am finally wanting to put the PQ service partition back on it but none of the folders of the restore CD's have any of the files needed to recreate this partition. I am wanting to put the factory (VISTA Home Premium) system on C. With all the system files and folders from the 3 restore CD's into the PQSERVICE partition. I have no clue how to proceed.
I do remember there was an acer(C) partition and a data (D) partition when I got it. The PQSERVICE partition was there back then.
The first (System) CD has none of the files mbrwrdos.exe or rtmbr.bin used to create the PQSERVICE system.
I run the ACER Disk Formatter and it cannot find any drives on the laptop.
Weird! From what I've been able to glean my thought was that that the Formatter disk would facilitate creating the correct partitions?
Recently I developed this simple application that lets you easily configure CineDash and other buttons functions on Acer laptops. This application, “Acer CineDash Config”, is mainly for mine purposes.
I tested it on my Acer 6935G and Windows 7 64bit version. It probably should work on other models and systems to.
Some of the features that Acer CineDash Config supports are: •32bit and 64bit systems •Configuring applications to run and captions for buttons:oArcade DeluxeoEmpowering tech.oInternetoE-Mail•Making and restoring registry backup •Enabling media keys to work with other programs, like winamp, and restoring original key mapping file
I have a wireless network setup between my desktop w/xp pro an my laptop w/vista home preminum Acer 5570Z.
My laptop can open drives & folders on my desktop, but my desktop can't open drives or folders on my laptop it says I don't have permission. I fixed this once before but can't remember what I did.
I have an Acer 6930ZG with a fresh install of windows 7 RC 32bit. I can play Call Of Duty 4, Counter Strike, Flatout 2 etc. with no problems! But when I try to open MapleStory a blue screen appears, and begin to make a physcial memory dump? . MapleStory is a 2D-game, and Call Of Duty requires much more.
I made a little research, and I found out that alot of people have the same problem, and they said it was caused by a conflict with a program or hardware drivers. I have tried to delete my NVIDIA driver, and install it again. No luck.
And yes, I have also tried to run MapleStory in compatibily mode
As I said: It's only in MapleStory I experience the problem, and I don't think it's ram-failure, since I have seen the same problem on a different computer, and I can play Call of Duty 4.
Here is the system log: Problemsignatur: Navn på problemhændelse:BlueScreen OS-version:6.1.7100.2.0.0.256.1 Landestandard-id:1030.....................
