Apple :: How Do I Transfer Songs On My Hard Drive To My Ipod Nano
Oct 9, 2009
From what I read in the manual I am supposed to put them in the Itunes music library, but it does not say in the manual how to transfer them to the library.
In Itunes, I click on "FIle" and then "add file to library", select the songs, but nothing happens.
Can I drag them from Windows Explorer to my Nano directly?
i have two macbooks connected to an airport extreme (i haven't actually got one yet), and i connect an external hard drive to the airport.
I want to share my external hard drive through my network. Just wondering how fast are the transfer speeds from the hard drive to the macbook using wireless? (ie copying a movie 700mb etc from the hard drive connected to the airport to my macbook using wireless)
I have a hp 2000 2b09wm. It just broke, giving me the error message saying in so many words that I needed a new hard drive. Guess the old one went kaput (even though i just bought this pc on eBay not a month or two ago). So, I have a new hard drive now, but no OS. Is there anyway to retrieve my Windows 8 from the busted hd, or do I also now have to pay for a brand new OS?
I do have a SATA/USB cable that could possibly aid in the transfer if it is possible.
I don't have a lot of money to replace the laptop that just completely died a month after the warranty expired. It is a Lenovo Thinkpad SL510, S/n xxxxxxx and the product ID is 28479XU. Purchased 3 years ago. I would like to know if I can take the hard drive out (which I was told by a knowledgeable computer person that it is OK with all the data on it) AND put it in my working Lenovo Thinkpad SL410, S/n xxxxxxx, Product ID 28427PU ?The SL510 is really dead. All efforts were tried to resusictate by same computer person.
ive upgraded to a bigger hard drive, and would like to keep all my dell goodies that came with it pre installed. is there a way i can download all these programs (wifi apps, etc) or transfer them to my new hard drive os install? i know i can get drivers from dell site, but im stumped on all the software
Can I import a bunch of songs from different folders instead of having to drag and drop each individual music file? Like drag and drop the entire music folder into iTunes instead of having to go into each individual artist's folder and dragging and dropping?
Also, is it possible to clear all registered machines to an account? I just went through my third computer and forgot to de-authorize (un-authorize?) my account, again again.
I am trying to add songs into the multi-session MP3 CD I created with Toast 10 Titanium and I can't figure it out. I searched all over the net and I wasn't able to find an answer. Every time I try to add files my car only recognizes the new file. I used to do this with Nero when I had a Windows based laptop but I'm new to Toast.
Planning to upgrade the HDD of my new MBP 13 incher.
a good/ reliable laptop hard drive?
Also does a 7200 rpm hard drive improve speed and reduce battery life (i saw some ppl complaining) ? Just wondering whether to shop for a 5400 or 7200 rpm.
my ipod is about to die and i need to copy all the mp3's off of it without messing up the songs names (i know if you copy/paste it renames some songs to SF57KLY or something like that). so is there a reliable program out there you guys would recommend to me for getting my songs onto my lappy? by the way, i am using windows XP. i also dont mind buying a program if i know it will work, so it doesn't have to be free.
My Macbook is coming in tomorrow, but I've already got a new hard drive that I'm planning to install on it. How do I install the OS onto the new drive? Do I just assemble the new drive in and put the CD that comes with the Macbook in and it'll do everything for me?
i recently bought a macbook pro 13in. I bought this to replace my lenovo t400. On my lenovo i have the st9160411as hard drive which is a 7200rpm drive. Do you think i can just swap the drives between both laptops, the mac HD to the lenovo and the lenovo HD (st9160411as) to the MBP? I am not sure what the compatability is.
i want to purchase a external hard drive for my macbook pro that i just purchased. But i do want it to be something like a "Western Digital My Passport" Series (as in a 2.5" or smaller so that it is very portable). I am also interested in getting it with a Firewire 800 port - which is where the problem i am having on finding what i want.
I have the stock 250gb Fujitsu MJA2250BH. It clicks a little and I can hear it working at times, but I suppose it's decent. I'm still going to upgrade to a faster one sometime.
What do you have? You happy with it? Does it make a lot of noise/vibration/etc.?
I was reading the switchers' guide and saw that upgrading the HD in my new (Apple refurb store, actually) 15" LED MBP 2.4ghz 8600gt model will void the warranty, and an Apple store tech must do it.
I'm cheap, illustrated well by me buying a refurb MBP for $1350 after waiting for a couple years to pounce on one. Being cheap, I was thinking of purchasing a 320gb HD for the MBP for like $65 off Newegg, and having the Apple store pop it in for me so my 1-year warranty will remain intact.
Does the Apple store charge for this service if they are installing an HD I am bringing in? If I purchase an upgrade HD from the Apple store themselves, will they provide the service free or at a discount?
Has anyone ever replaced their battery on their ipod? I have a 5th generation 30GB Video ipod and the battery is terrible now that it is two and a half years old. I have seen a few different websites out there that have directions and sell the batteries... I trust I can install the battery from what I have seen on the videos but I don't know if I trust the battery some of these company's are selling.
I didn't pay for the 3.0 software for my Touch because it wasn't (and still isn't) worth it to me. Everything was fine until the latest update to iTunes came out. Now Yahoo IM, Twitterfon and Facebook won't appear on my Touch. Is my only option downgrading iTunes?
Itunes reports that I have 11GB of music in my library but my itunes music folder and my ipod reports 14GB, what is up with that? Anyone else have anything like this happen? I just don't know if it is something with SL or what....
First I must admit that I really did search both the main forums and even specifically in the Apple and Mac OS X forums and didn't find a really good answer to this question. It seems that mostly folks agree that iTunes itself should do a good enough job of backing things up.
Here's the deal...
My wife's notebook needs to have the OS reinstalled. Just to simply clean it up, make it faster, etcetcetc. In the past when we've done this everything always goes smoothly EXCEPT for the iPod.
She has a couple of purchased music on it, she has a couple of purchased games and even a movie, as well as TON of music, 20 GB or so (funny, we used to think that was a lot but it seems not, many people have several times this). The iPod has always given me difficulties with restoring only the purchased stuff, games and the music pieces we purchased legit. Twice before I have managed to cram things back on there with various 3rd party software but the names escape me since it typically takes several hours of installing this, trying this, uninstalling and try again with something else.
My wife's notebook is a PC and she is running Vista. When we go to 'reinstall' we are simply going to use the restore partition and install our other software from there.
I had two questions about replacing the hard drive on the 1st generation (rev A) MacBook Air (with the 80GB hard drive):
1. I believe I read somewhere that it uses a not-so-common connector/interface. So, does anyone know where you can get the type of hard drive the rev. A MacBook Air takes?
2. Has anyone ever done this? Is it hard to get inside the case? Hard to swap out the drive?
I have a Windows XP I want to install, and I'm reading the walkthrough for partitioning my hard drive, but it says that I cant use XP if it doesnt have SP2! I have the XP with SP1a on it. So I cant use that right? Or am I a little off on my thinking here?
I just got a MacBook Pro 13 in and noticed that when I'm using it but then get up to move somewhere else, it makes a clicking sound as I lift up from my lap. Is this normal? Maybe the hard drive is preparing to move or something?
I have a 2.2GHz 15" Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro with the factory 120GB hard drive. I want to upgrade the hard drive in the near future and have a couple questions:
1. Is there a size limit? (memory)
2. I hear that 7200RPM can be loud and/or cause vibration. Have any of you guys experienced this?
3. Is it SATA or ATA? What's the difference?
4. I noticed some are 16MB and some are 8MB. Does it really make a difference?
6. What's the best place to buy online?
5. These are some of the hard drives that I was looking at: [url]
can I get any external hard drive for my Macbook? Because I see ads for external hard drives for Macs, as if they're specially designed and made for Macs. Is that legit, or can I buy any one I want?
And while we're on the subject - any suggestions as to which one is the best (fastest, most reliable, etc.)?
I have the 17 inch MacBook pro...just got it yesterday.
Right now, it will not boot passed the white screen with the apple logo.
I inserted the OSX CD and booted from the CD by holding C... now I guess I'm installing OSX onto the HD again to see what happens.
This problem occurred after my thumb drive was acting up. When I put in the thumb drive, and then start transferring files into the thumb drive... the little progress window would freeze up. I could not force quit, as you can't force quit "Finder" for whatever reason. So I had to do a restart by holding down the power key. Again, same thing happened and I had to do the power key reset...
what would you recommend as a good and reliable external hard drive that I could use with Time Machine.
What do you think of this: Iomega eGo Portable 500 GB External hard drive - 800Mbps(FireWire800)/400Mbps(FireWire)/480Mbps(Hi-Sp.USB)
Also, from friends I know I've heard only complains about external hard drives - problems with reliability etc. Has anything changed in this regard in recently?
Lastly, what is your experience with Time Machine? How much can I trust it?
what is the BEST, quality loseless, full potential way, to play flac, and many other audio files(all, if possible) on the ipod touch? ipod touch is simply amazing, with millions of apps. I do not want to get a cowon iaudio, or iriver to play flac files and paying the same for their players just because they got better EQ, audio quality, and many many supported formats. I love apple products, but their ipod mp3 player line just needs better and wider formats supported in my opinion.
I want the ipod touch to do the same, i am an audiophile so i expect alot from my gadgets and equipments. does the Zune HD support flac natively, if not, how do u play flac on the zune HD also,
I am planning on doing a clean install of windows 7 on my computer but when i do so is it possible that i can just sync my ipod to the empty itunes library and let it put all my ipod music on my computer? or will it ask me if it can erase all the data on the ipod and sync it to that itunes library.
Will the 3rd gen Ipod touch be release before the end of free ipod touch deal (w/ mbp purchase) on September 8th? Or will it be released shortly after?
i cant burn movies from my Itunes onto a dvd, i was thinking that i could either play movies from my laptop and output them to my tv OR, is it possible to output movies from my ipod touch to tv ? so i dont have to lug around my laptop lol, i can just bring my ipod and a cable...
