Jan 14, 2010I know it sounds Outlook-ish, but I think it'd be nice to be able to have my calendar and contacts show within Apple Mail -- that way, everything is right there in one window, and any changes I make are synced to Gmail / GCal, since that's the source of my calendar and contacts.
Have only found one reference to a since-defunct piece of software. Can this be done, preferably via freeware -- or even software options I missed?

Jan 12, 2009it seems I've gotten my first BSoD in years, in boot camp, Vista x64.
I was watching a movie, and exited full-screen, and for some reason I wanted to resize VLC's window (the one that has the movie playing) - while the movie was playing.
The audio froze and then bam! BSoD. It was kinda quick, I didn't get to see which .dll caused it.
Could it be an audio issue since the audio froze? Or a video issue since that's where it all started from?

Sep 21, 2009Seems there's some sort of odd issue with only some apps running under SL where they don't retain any sort of settings as far as where the window was.
Preview, for example, always opens in the same not-actually-"maximized" position no matter what I do to it. I open a lot of PDF files, so I'd like to be able to specify how they open. (A plus would also be to auto-select the annotate -> comment function).

Jan 27, 2009I bought a used jailbroken 2G iphone for my wife. When I put my SIM card in it tells me to connect to itunes. Will I lose all of the apps and games already installed? Do I need to restore it and start over? I'm completely ignorant on this as I have never even owned an ipod.

Mar 7, 2009I usually turn my volume really low or even mute it before shutting down my mbp, and when I turn on my mbp, the startup chime will be as loud as that volume level.
Yesterday, I used onyx to clean up some of the preferences,etc. Now, it doesn't matter if I mute the volume before shutting down, the start-up chime will always be there at the same level.
I rather not download the startup sound preference program if i really dont have to.

Everytime I try to start up my laptop it always shows the menu screen saying Launch Start Up Repair or Start Windows Normally. I've tried to do a system restore multiple times, but the screen just stops on a blue screen. No it isn't the Blue Screen of Death, but it does attempt to start but fails and stands on the screen until it automatically or manually shuts down.

Apr 28, 2013My Dell Studio 1555 won't start anymore. When I want to turn it on, I get a beeping signal (2 beeps) and nothing happens. I tried all possible troubleshooting tips from the dell website (disconnecting all power and hold power button, reconnect to power, checked battery with the button on the battery, all fine, can't get into bios because computer doesn't start at all) but nothing works. Recently I also checked if the motherboard is connected properly and there is no issue either.
I also purchased a new dell adapter because my old one was a little bit damaged. The adapter is like the old one, and it's originally dell and the correct one for the studio 1555 so it can't be the adapter. Laptop also doesn't start when the battery is not in and it's only connected to the power.

Jul 14, 2009I have Compaq Presario R4000 128MB graphic memory and 2GB memory. Now I am currently installed XP professional. Will I be able to install Window 7? If so, how could I install the drivers (VGA, network card, sound card and so on)? Should I just use Window XP drivers CD? I haven't tried with Window 7 RC 1 yet.
And for window 7, what's the difference between upgrade version and full version? Or is it the same if I have already window XP? I know only upgrade version is cheaper. Can I get clean installation with upgrade version? What about 32 bits and 64 bits, different CD or will it choose automatically?

I click OK and nothing happens. Windows message disappears and that is it. A rotating disc just rotates forever.

Nov 8, 2009When I bought my Dell 3 years ago I got the option to include the Creative SoundBlaster Audigy software. It is just software, not an actual sound card upgrade, but it definitely made audio quality much better. The computer has a Sigmatel audio device.
Does anyone know if there is a driver/software update for this that will make it work with Windows 7? I installed the software from Dell's drivers and downloads site which made it work with Vista, but no luck. Any help is appreciated.
