The D610 comes with an 11G Mini PCI card with 2 antenna connections. 11N cards have 3 antenna connections. Can I replace the 11G card with an 11N and just connect the 2 antenna wires that are present?
We are having to make do and defer hardware purchases. We have tried to add RAM to a Latitude D610 to improve user performance. There is a 2GB stick plus a 512K stick.  It seems that A06 (10/12/2005) is the most recent BIOS version. BIOS only recognizes 2GB. Windows recognizes 2.5GB, but states can only use 2GB.
Is there anything that can be done so that it could recognize the 2.5GB or even 4GB ( 2 x 2GB), within the 32 bit windows limitations of course?
I have two batteries for my laptop they no longer charge in the laptop. I have it plugged into the AC Adapter, but the battery charge light no longer comes on. The batteries both work, but they are both nearly discharged.why the charging is not happening?
Dell D610, reinstalled Windows XP. Downloaded NSS from Utilities disk and the rest of the drivers from USB drive saved before re-install (C:Dell/Drivers)
The drivers are not being recognized by the computer after several restarts. Thsi my first reformatting of Disk. I would like determining what is causing the problem.
was running xp pro. I have wiped the hard drive and will be installing win xp pro on it.I only know noticed, in bios, that it says the cpu is running at 800 mhz and not at its proper speed of 1.73 ghz. In the bios i set it to default settings and saved it but no luck there. The bios is A06 from 2005 but i have a friend who has the very same laptop and his is running at the correct speed of 1.73 and he has the same bios so i dont thing that is the issue.
I have a Latitude D610 and I had to replace the motherboard and now it shows the incorrect Service Tag, I can not figure out how to put the correct "Service Tag" in to it. I have reviewed many posts here and still no luck. I have tried asset.com and it says tag not correct and Make Sure setup password's are disabled. I really hate to ask but I don't have no where else to turn, and yes the computer is out of warranty.
I am not sure if I am in the exact location to post a thread but I need an advice since I am getting a 11.6 netbook.
I am debating whether I should get HP Mini 311 or Dell Inspiron 11z. I am located in Canada so we don't have all the models that they sell in United States.
My trusty m1210 is still going strong. I just got a Netgear WNDR3700 router, so I wanted to upgrade my wifi card. Will any mini card work? I know the Dell 1500 & 1505 as well as the Intel 4965 work. But what about the Intel Ultimate-N 6300? Are there any limitations of my laptop that would prevent ANY mini card from working? BTW
Right now I have a Intel Pro 2200 wireless card. It only has wireless B. I can get a 3945 card for $12.50 shipped that has wireless G and B, or an Atheros card. I'm not sure what the whole wireless "N" thing is, so maybe someone could fill me in on that. Right now I only need the "G" capabilities as far as as I know. Is the Intel Pro 3945 the best bang for the buck? I see theres also a a 4945, but its almost double the price of the 3945. And as I mentioned above, I see Atheros cards, but I'm not sure how good they are. Do they have better wireless pick-up then the actual Intel cards?
Looking for some comments on the Dell Wireless 1510 802.11n Half Mini-Card (wireless card). Could someone tell me it's effectiveness? As a college freshman I'd like a decent card but the XPS 13 is only offering that one.
I am thinking of buying a dell studio xps 13 laptop with this wireless card. Will I be able to connect to 802.11b/g networks? I have a us robotics 9108 router and I am using linux.
just received a Dell 5530 WWAN Mobile Broadband HSDPA KM266 PCIe mini-card which bought from a vendor on ebay today
Owning an XPS M1330, it took a little trial & error finding compatible drivers and the appropriate SW, but I managed it by feeding Dell's website with various Notebook models in order to get to said drivers & SW.
The SW (Ericsson) came from the Dell Mini 9 section (because the ebay vendor told me that's where he got the card in the first place):

im having a problem with my 1525 inspiron laptop, which i have had for a couple of years. The problem started when installed windows 7. My wireless minicard stops working anytime i try playing an online game. The mouse starts freezing and then the wireless card would stop working. The only way can it working again is to reboot the laptop or put it to sleep the start it up again.
