My battery light was blinking tonight when I plugged my Inspiron 1420 in to charge it.

Apart from the fact that I had too many problems with my L502X laptop, right now my problem is:
When I press power button on the device, battery icon blinks white twice, then system boots up. But normally there should be light on Power button and other 3 shortcut buttons, but they keep dark even though laptop works.
There is no error message or something else related with my battery, and windows says that battery is fully charged when it's plugged in which is pretty normal. I tried diagnostics but there wasn't any error messages.
My battery life was appauling (15 mins), so I decided to do a full discharge and recharge (Nothing to lose by doing it)
After this was done I loaded back into windows and checked my battery monitor, unplugged my laptop and waited 10 minutes.
It was still at 100% 10 minutes later.
I looked in another utility and it was reporting ludicrous values for Full Capacity - 920,643mWh (At this point I became very scared of the prospect of a Lithium Fire).
I worked out the capacity of my battery:
wattHour = ampHour * Volts
Ah of my battery is 2.0, and it provides 14.8 Volts
Max battery capacity: 29.6wH (29600mWh)
The program is reporting 29834mWh (Which seems like a perfectly acceptable value considering not all batts are the same)
Seems like the battery is still good... (It's certainly running longer than before, up to 30 mins so far).
I'm sure my battery is dying (3 years old), just this makes it seem like it isn't?
My Inspiron 1520 just recently started blinking a red battery light. It just keeps blinking. Theres no stop to it... even if i re-insert the battery it shows the blinking red light and it keeps blinking steadily. Also when checking with quickset it doesnt recognize any battery at all. When i remove the ac adapter my pc just shuts off and wont run until plugged in. I read in the manual and it told me to contact dell if it happened.
I dont know if its defected or something? My warranty is pretty much dead... and I've always left the computer plugged on.. dont know if that affects the battery. Will I have to replace my battery, if it runs out or is defected? I checked and its $135 bucks for a new battery....
The battery light on my XPS is blinking all the time (orange 4 times, white 1 time).
I have updated BIOS, run PSA Diagnostics and Dell PC Diagnostics and nothing appears to be bad. But the problem is still here.
I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop which is currently four years old and out of warranty.
Currently, with or without the battery with AC adapter connected when I press the power button, the power light does not light up but the battery status light keeps on blinking until the power button is pressed. I don't see any boot up screen or hear any sound of CPU fan running in the mean time. Basically, it does not start at all.
I recently got new dell authorized battery as a replacement for laptop fearing that could be source of problem. However, the new battery does no good. I checked the battery health and status and its fine.
Before this issue the laptop would start and immediately on boot screen it would shut down. So, I got it fixed from a repair service center who cleaned up the clogged cpu fan. It worked fine for two days and then the issue resurfaced.
Now, it does not start at all. I even checked with another adapter and also changed the CMOS battery (as date and time kept changing on every boot) but the issue still remains.
Also tried removing and reconnecting the RAMs one after another and then trying to boot. Also tried draining the static charge if any after removing the battery and adapter and then holding the power button for 50 seconds. Reconnecting with ac adapter with or without battery then also does not start the system.
I am using Lenovo T500 laptop for last 2 years. yesterday suddenly its battery stop charging and a red light of battery start continuously blinking. i have read many forum for charging solution and found one solution, i press the power button for 30 sec and then insert battery and charger cable. With this trick battery start charging but after 2 hours battery again stop charging. Till now battery is not charging......
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
My first month with this brand new notebook was problems it gave me a blue screen and shut down on me. I thought it was normal being that it was my very first notebook. My hp pavilion notebook is only 3 years old but it now it has a blinking caps light and a orange light on the wireless key. I have tried to hard reset it but nothing works. I was use to it shutting down on me and restarting again but this time it would not come back on. I call Hp tech and now I'm being told this computer is obsolete and can't be fixed.

About three weeks ago, I came in to the machine to begin my day. The machine had been plugged and charging through the night, status=Hibernated. This is my common practice. I immediately noted the Charger light on the hinge was blinking alternately white then three or four quick red blinks rather than the usual steady white when the charger is plugged in.
I interpreted it as some sort of alarm; but after an exhaustive look, running diagnostics, searching DELL website and viewing the User manuals, I cannot find an answer.
· I checked the Windows 7 battery app and the DELL Battery Meter and “Battery Health” showed the battery to be performing normally.
· I went to DELL support and ran the battery diagnostics which were OK.
· The problem is seen always several hours of charging with no activity; and it is intermittent. It has happened several times since the first time. It happened again this morning.
· I made the assumption that the red light was a warning and the battery was failing or in trouble – no.
· Then I thought it might be due to overcharging. If so, shouldn’t the problem be every time I leave it on overnight?
· Note my solution: If I unplug the machine and go on battery power when the red light is blinking and do work on the machine, when the battery goes down 10% or so, the red blinking light stops.
· My machine is otherwise working well.
I seem to always have some sort of activity with this light, even when I'm not accessing the HD or when I keep the computer idle. Does anyone have any clue why this is happening?
Autoplay is disabled, nothing is downloading and only ESET is on but temporarily has features disabled.
why my wireless light is constantly blinking? I have a E6400 with a 5300 AGN and I'm running on Ubuntu 9.10. I also run on Windows 7 but I cannot remember if it always blinks when I run that.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Studio 1557. When I attempt to power on the laptop nothing happens. I can see a white blinking power light and nothing else. There is no other signs of life, the fans do not come on and the CD-ROM cannot be used.
It seems like the AC adapater is working as I can see the blue light around the connector.
I have had my Dell inspiron 1420 for at least 2 years now..The problem last year: While I am not giving input to the laptop, but I am connected to the internet, and firewall is on... The top left LED light will suddenly flash blue and a indicating sound, I can only describe as "do-doop" occur simultaneously. This would happen several times before (completely without my doing anything on the computer) the dell livecam prompter would pop up. I have NEVER used my webcam... so why it would start up automatically is beyond me.
The problem now is the same light flashes and the same sound occurs, repeatedly and at an inconsistent frequency. The only difference this time, is the dell livecam thing has not popped up, So I don't know that the indication is related. The sound+ flashing will happen one minute, and again maybe 10 minutes later. Then it will happen one minute, and again 30 seconds later. Then happen once, and happen again 2 minutes later. (its very sparatic). This time, I went into task manager and ended the "livecam automatic startup" process, but that did not end the problem.
What this is being caused by or how to make it stop. (I watch low-quality lectures for class on my laptop on full volume, so this sound is super loud and way too often to live with.)
I have a dell 1520 laptop
1. The DVD-ROM(TS-L632D) is indicator is ON all time. the eject button is not fucntion after pass BIOS boot screen.
2. When I connect the Power supply to laptop, The Power LED indicator blinking, like On(fast) On(fast) Off(slow)..... On On Off....
What is the meaning of this signals about?
3, It always go into diagnostic screen when 1st boot of the day. after let it completely run, it show no problem found. I'm not sure why but my keyboard should be no problem.
4. My laptop freeze when playing simple game, or watch youtube. wonder why is it. My laptop is equip with 8400MGS graphic. does it cause by the graphic card? or my system crash?
Today I tried to turn on my laptop but the power on light only blinked.
I have tried hard resetting it by taking out the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds.
The button power button, f12 key, and cd button keeps blinking unless i take the battery out.
The ac adapter is working and I think the battery is ok because the led is blinking while i have no ac connected.
I am now using Lenovo X240 touch screen model and I am trying to charge my lap top but after plugged in, the red light on top cover are keep blinking, what does it means ??? I have check batter one has 97% and 2nd battery has 98%, but I still want to charge it.... what should I do ..???
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Latitude E6510 that will not start. When pressing the power button, the power light goes on for about 5 seconds and then turns off. I also notice the battery light flashes a few times when re-connecting the AC adapter.
Removed the battery, held in the power button 30 seconds, but still not working.
We have had this laptop about 6 months. About a month ago, it exhibited this problem. After talking to Dell Support, they recommended a system board replacement. The laptop was sent in and the board was replaced. When I got it back and tried to start it for the first time, it did the same thing. I then pressed the Latitude "ON" button, and the laptop started.
Now it is doing the same thing, and I find it hard to believe that another system board is bad. I am suspicious about this "ON" feature, that maybe the laptop is "stuck" or something trying to get into the "ON" mode. Or maybe it is just trying to get into "ON" mode.
I am not sure what the "ON" feature does, but I have noticed a few other posts on the internet of users having the exact same problem. Again--I find it hard to believe a second system board could be bad.
I have a major problem with my hp pavilion dv6-3143sa laptop.
I put it to a shop and they told me it was a motherboard/cpu problem and they couldn't source parts. I managed to get the parts. I put the motherboard first, but didn't work. I then added the cpu and put on thermal paste, but still didn't work.
My laptop will power on but I'm still getting a blinking light on the caps lock button and a black screen.
Hp pavilion dv7-6c64nr entertainment PCCore i7Windows7After i switch on its has black screen, caps lock blinking 3 times, function key f12 wifi signal on. But the machine always running (I can hear the sound).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my xps 15z just nearly two years (out of warranty) an today it won't turn on. The battery light does not light up and neither does the light to indicate if it is charging, when I press the on button nothing at all happens. The green light on the plug transformer is on until you plug it into the laptop when it immediately deilluminates. I am trying to establish if this is an issue with the plug or the laptop hardware, I could not find a solution and I only have my phone to look on now my laptop has died.
Moreover I am very annoyed with the quality of this range topping machine, when it first came the hard drive had to be replaced, the dell rep who fixed it managed to break the battery indicator lights which I had to take it apart to fix. When you consider the wireless issues, the focus losing problems which made it impossible to type until I found which dell programme to uninstall to fix and the crackling speaker issue which I still not found a solution for, this is not good enough.
Refurbished Laptop - latitude E6410. The battery light contrantly flashes on the Battery five or Six solid blue lights - Then three flashing lights. In addition, the Light on the Computer ( ) and the desk top icon for the power adaptor cord /battery says" Plugged in - Not charging".I ran the Dell Diagnostics (Fn key at bootup) but it found no problems.is the battery dead?

I have an issue with this laptop. as written before, it shuts down in less than 5 seconds after powering it on.
Both HDD and Wifi LED are steady blue and the middle battery one starts blinking ( battery is not installed ).
System, I/O and TAA boards have been replaced without success. what else could be wrong, ?
nb : tests have been done with everything unplugged except screen cable and connectors cable.
I have a dell xps 15z laptop and I have replaced the battery because it was not giving any backup. Now i plugged new battery but the battery icon says"0% available, (plugged in, not charging)". Also an indicator is blinking (four times orange and one time white) below the laptop screen (the hinge where screen is attached to the base of laptop).
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a question for you. Last night I had my laptop connected up to the ECM of my car (for diagnostics purposes) and went for a drive with it connected to the ECM. No Problem. Got back from the trip and the battery was down to 4% so I promptly shut it down (after turning the car off).
I plugged the charger in and the battery is back up to 100% but for some reason the orange flashing battery light on the laptop keeps flashing. I have taken the power pack out and the battery is ok, works as per normal
The battery and AC adaptor for my Inspiron 13 don't seems to be acting strangely...
When the computer is off, and not connected to any power source, sometimes the battery light flashes. This happens even if the AC adaptor isn't plugged into the computer.
When the computer is off and it is plugged in, the light doesn't flash.
The battery light is on when the computer is plugged in, charging, and powered up.
Basically yesterday the battery charging light started flashing 4 orange then 1 white, and when I booted up it would say that the battery is not at an optimal running tempreture
It wouldn't the charge the battery but once I started using it and got the battery to about 90% charge then plugged it in it would start charging with no issues till it was 99% charged
I just unboxed my new 15R Special Edition. I plugged in the AC adapter and have no battery status light on the laptop. Should this light come one while charging even if the laptop is not on?
