Refurbished Laptop - latitude E6410. The battery light contrantly flashes on the Battery five or Six solid blue lights - Then three flashing lights.In addition, the Light on the Computer ( ) and the desk top icon for the power adaptor cord /battery says" Plugged in - Not charging".I ran the Dell Diagnostics (Fn key at bootup) but it found no problems.is the battery dead?
View 1 RepliesI have a Latitude E6510 that will not start. When pressing the power button, the power light goes on for about 5 seconds and then turns off. I also notice the battery light flashes a few times when re-connecting the AC adapter.
Removed the battery, held in the power button 30 seconds, but still not working.
We have had this laptop about 6 months. About a month ago, it exhibited this problem. After talking to Dell Support, they recommended a system board replacement. The laptop was sent in and the board was replaced. When I got it back and tried to start it for the first time, it did the same thing. I then pressed the Latitude "ON" button, and the laptop started.
Now it is doing the same thing, and I find it hard to believe that another system board is bad. I am suspicious about this "ON" feature, that maybe the laptop is "stuck" or something trying to get into the "ON" mode. Or maybe it is just trying to get into "ON" mode.
I am not sure what the "ON" feature does, but I have noticed a few other posts on the internet of users having the exact same problem. Again--I find it hard to believe a second system board could be bad.
After pressing the power button the battery light flashes about 6 times then goes out. No light on for power.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Latitude E6430 i7-3720QM upgraded to Windows 8,, Bios A09, 8 core...Fan is constantly running and drying the battery out. Tem range between 60-70C. All tests from Dell webpage passed successfully. Tests from Intel Diagnostic tools passed. However, fun is always running, lap top is warm and battery goes down very quickly, in an hour. Under windows 7 it used to last much longer. I even did a clean install of Windows 8 and the problem persists
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy Dell inspiron 6400 has a battery that works amazingly but recently, I noticed a change in the behaviour. Anytime I switch the laptop on, the LED battery indicator shows me red meaning something is wrong even when the battery is fully charged. The battery charges normally even when I intentionally drain out the power and try charging it again. This is just to make sure that the battery charges fine. Infact, in windows, it shows me that the computer is on AC power even when it is not plugged into an AC outlet.
The BIOS shows "No battery installed" and windows tells me the same. Summarily, everything is fine except for the LED indicator showing Red and the BIOS telling me that no battery is installed.
after some heavy usage, my Acer Aspire 7720 laptop started to accept only ~92% of battery charge and never gets out of that.

I use Arch Linux as my main OS, but it seems to be platform-independent (even when it's turned off it happens). The BIOS is the latest 1.45.
My electricity power went out and I wad working on battery and when the power came back I was connecting the adapter but the battery led started to flash 4 times orange and 1 times white.

I have had my xps 15z just nearly two years (out of warranty) an today it won't turn on. The battery light does not light up and neither does the light to indicate if it is charging, when I press the on button nothing at all happens. The green light on the plug transformer is on until you plug it into the laptop when it immediately deilluminates. I am trying to establish if this is an issue with the plug or the laptop hardware, I could not find a solution and I only have my phone to look on now my laptop has died.
Moreover I am very annoyed with the quality of this range topping machine, when it first came the hard drive had to be replaced, the dell rep who fixed it managed to break the battery indicator lights which I had to take it apart to fix. When you consider the wireless issues, the focus losing problems which made it impossible to type until I found which dell programme to uninstall to fix and the crackling speaker issue which I still not found a solution for, this is not good enough.
my HP ProBook 450 lowers the brightness when its on a light screen (say the website background is white, it darkens the brightness) because white screens dont need the brightness ...and vice versa, it brightens the screen when its on a dark page.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt first the power light was blue, and when I plugged it in the light around the power cord would light up, now its not doing that, and when I press the power button a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and that is it. I bought this in a really big hurry, because I do school online. I do own and Alienware, and it was having network problems. So I found a guy who had this computer, and he turn it on for me, the power light was blue, he told me that it hadnt been plugged in in a while. He gave me a 90 day warranty, along with the charger. I brought it home set it on the desk and plugged it in. Left it on the charger for about 9 hours. Pressed the power button, a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and thats it. My question is, is this savable? It could be a battery or it could be the charger. Those parts are not expensive, and I know a friend who could really use a laptop. Or should I sell it for parts..

Have a question for you. Last night I had my laptop connected up to the ECM of my car (for diagnostics purposes) and went for a drive with it connected to the ECM. No Problem. Got back from the trip and the battery was down to 4% so I promptly shut it down (after turning the car off).
I plugged the charger in and the battery is back up to 100% but for some reason the orange flashing battery light on the laptop keeps flashing. I have taken the power pack out and the battery is ok, works as per normal
I bought a Dell Inspiron 15r 3537 five or so months ago. I haven't had many problems with it but just today, I have run into a few issues, wont load up, the power light flashes for a split second then nothing which seemed to resolve it's self after I ran a systems diagnostics (which everything was running fine and I received no error codes). I left it alone for a few hours and then when I started it back it up....nothing. It isn't taking charge though the charger is still showing a green light on it. I've taken the battery out and held down the button for 15-30-45 seconds all with no result.

When I plug the power adapter into the jack on the laptop, the blue LED jack light flashes once, stays on for up to a second, then turns off. That's all the laptop can do.

It wouldn't the charge the battery but once I started using it and got the battery to about 90% charge then plugged it in it would start charging with no issues till it was 99% charged

I changed the AC adapter as a Hardware problem, but I couldn't change the battery because it is built-in.
On the other side of problem - I mean as a Software problem :
1. I tried to restore the system -from Backup and Restore - till the first point but nothing happened except it restored the first password . . !
2. I tried to make a restore from Dell DataSafe local Backup, but the system said the adapter and the battery must both plugged where the adapter doesn't respond at all.
3. I tried with Ubuntu Operating System (Linux), when I thought that problem Might be from Windows 7.
4. I upgraded the BIOS drive.
5.. I set the BIOS setting to the default - F2
When I plugs the AC Adapter the percentage never reduce, but the hours remaining changes, exactly shows (829 hr and 48 min (20%) remaining).
.After I push power button, one of 3 lock lights, the A lock flashes blue, and a steady blue power light occurs to right of keboard, for about 5-7 seconds, then turns off after a soft high pitched beep.. The computer did get hot before this occurred. Tried getting new power cord because old one was not correct one. Tried booting up with and without battery & did not work. Screen never comes up.

Today, my battery light started flashing. Amber for times then white then repeats. Since I was plugged in I was perplexed. I looked on my screen and it showed 100 percent battery meaning I am plugged in.
Then I turned my computer completely off. THE LIGHT KEPT FLASHING. Now it is getting spooky. I unplug the power supply from the back of the computer and the light went off.
Hours later I plugged everything back in. Started the computer and the light started again. Since it is no warning for anything other than the battery,
I tried unplugging while computer was on. Still flashing.
I turned off. Took battery out and put back in. Still Flashing.
While off AND battery out I plugged in and no flashing
Put batter back in....plugged in and flashing resumed.
So for now I am trying to ignore it....
when I try to start my Inspiron 15 the battery light will flash and then wait for a few seconds and then flashes again. I put a post tester and it says no codes and restarts and flashes again no codes.

When I press power button on the device, battery icon blinks white twice, then system boots up. But normally there should be light on Power button and other 3 shortcut buttons, but they keep dark even though laptop works.
There is no error message or something else related with my battery, and windows says that battery is fully charged when it's plugged in which is pretty normal. I tried diagnostics but there wasn't any error messages.

I got the same problem earlier also and i fixed it with my international warranty. but from that date only 4 months have gone and i got it again. but last time i got an error message. but this time i did not get anything just got off normally.
My not too-old XPS L502X will not turn on. The battery indicator still has a single light remaining when pressed. When I plug in the power adaptor (blue light on power adaptor is on at this point) the blue light goes off.
Have tried in multiple plugs, same thing happens.
Have tried taking out battery and replacing, holding down power button for 30 seconds.
