Dell Latitude E6510 :: Will Not Start / Power Light Goes On Briefly / Battery Light Flashes
Oct 24, 2011I have a Latitude E6510 that will not start. When pressing the power button, the power light goes on for about 5 seconds and then turns off. I also notice the battery light flashes a few times when re-connecting the AC adapter.
Removed the battery, held in the power button 30 seconds, but still not working.
We have had this laptop about 6 months. About a month ago, it exhibited this problem. After talking to Dell Support, they recommended a system board replacement. The laptop was sent in and the board was replaced. When I got it back and tried to start it for the first time, it did the same thing. I then pressed the Latitude "ON" button, and the laptop started.
Now it is doing the same thing, and I find it hard to believe that another system board is bad. I am suspicious about this "ON" feature, that maybe the laptop is "stuck" or something trying to get into the "ON" mode. Or maybe it is just trying to get into "ON" mode.
I am not sure what the "ON" feature does, but I have noticed a few other posts on the internet of users having the exact same problem. Again--I find it hard to believe a second system board could be bad.

I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

Jan 13, 2015At first the power light was blue, and when I plugged it in the light around the power cord would light up, now its not doing that, and when I press the power button a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and that is it. So I found a guy who had this computer, and he turn it on for me, the power light was blue, he told me that it hadnt been plugged in in a while. He gave me a 90 day warranty, along with the charger. I brought it home set it on the desk and plugged it in. Left it on the charger for about 9 hours. Pressed the power button, a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and thats it. My question is, is this savable? It could be a battery or it could be the charger. Those parts are not expensive, and I know a friend who could really use a laptop. Or should I sell it for parts..

Dec 28, 2014The laptop is just over a year old, and does not power up at all. This started a couple of weeks ago. At first the LED light would blink orange a few times when the laptop was switched on, but nothing else happened. Then it might just start up, and while booting up the battery light would blink and it would switch off .
I did try removing the battery etc. to discharge of the mainboard as advised, but no difference. I have tried other sockets, same result. I have now left it unplugged for a few days and there is not even the orange light any more.

I haven't had many problems with it but just today, I have run into a few issues, wont load up, the power light flashes for a split second then nothing which seemed to resolve it's self after I ran a systems diagnostics (which everything was running fine and I received no error codes). I left it alone for a few hours and then when I started it back it up....nothing. It isn't taking charge though the charger is still showing a green light on it. I've taken the battery out and held down the button for 15-30-45 seconds all with no result.

May 9, 2009i have a acer aspire 5920, when ever the battery is taken out the q w a s z x esc tab cap lock shift ctrl fn 1 and 2 keys stops working. this is the third time it has happened and the first time i fixed it by a hard reset. the last time i don't know how i got it working, somthing stuffed up on start up and it came up with a error when bios was loading, it told me to press f2 but that key didn't work. after about ten resets it worked. but now i can't get the keys working.

Feb 26, 2010I'm trying to fix my fathers laptop so he won't have to spend money on a new one. Here's the problem:
When I press the power button to boot the laptop it does not boot, it just flashes the power light(s) on and off at maybe 1 flash per second. I've tried removing the RAM-sticks one and one, removing the HDD, removing the battery and removing the DVD reader (not all at the same time, of course). None of those helped, it still did the same thing.
Then I tried to blind flash the bios from a CD, the laptop comes on with the fan at full blast, the DVD reader comes on and it stays on, but it never finishes and powers off.

Nov 16, 2014Our Acer Aspire One 725-0845 will not charge. It is plugged in with the power cord, but the charging light does not blink and the amount of power left in the battery is dropping. I'm thinking it is:
1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or
2. a faulty battery
But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.

Oct 29, 2014I have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. It's just over 2 months old. It's been for repair twice, and both times the repair does not solve the original problem.
The issue is this... I will charge the computer to 100%. While using, the battery indicator will show different values at different times. Basically all over the map. Once the indicator gets down to 30% or so , I'm in the "shut down" zone where the computer will shut down because there is actually little or no power left in the battery though its says 30% or 24% or whatver value it may be.
Again this has been to the Acer Repair Shop to be "repaired" twice so far. They changed the Mainboard ( Motherboard I assume) TWICE so far and the problem STILL persists. I can't even get to the "Low or Critical" battery warnings ( currently set at 15% and 5%) because it shuts down before reaching those levels.
