View 2 RepliesI desperately do NOT want my back light to turn off after 30 seconds or whatever it is. I want it to STAY ON. There must be a setting for this. Where is it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. It's just over 2 months old. It's been for repair twice, and both times the repair does not solve the original problem.
The issue is this... I will charge the computer to 100%. While using, the battery indicator will show different values at different times. Basically all over the map. Once the indicator gets down to 30% or so , I'm in the "shut down" zone where the computer will shut down because there is actually little or no power left in the battery though its says 30% or 24% or whatver value it may be.
Again this has been to the Acer Repair Shop to be "repaired" twice so far. They changed the Mainboard ( Motherboard I assume) TWICE so far and the problem STILL persists. I can't even get to the "Low or Critical" battery warnings ( currently set at 15% and 5%) because it shuts down before reaching those levels.
I have an Aspire V5 -473P-5602. This is my 2nd unit as the first had issues that couldn't be fixed. Had this replacement for 2 months now and has been working great until recently. I'm hoping this is a minor thing, but I can't seem to find anything online about it.
Basically, sometimes when I turn on the computer it boots into the "insydeh20" screen. Not every time but enough to be annoying to me. The computer is pretty much as is when I got it new. No 3rd party apps, nothing modified etc etc.
Again, except for installing Windows updates nothing on the computer has been changed. Sometimes when I start the computer I hear a clicking sound ( one click) Seems it makes the noise when there is a Microsft update available. Normal?? Never did it before...
I have a dell 1520 laptop
1. The DVD-ROM(TS-L632D) is indicator is ON all time. the eject button is not fucntion after pass BIOS boot screen.
2. When I connect the Power supply to laptop, The Power LED indicator blinking, like On(fast) On(fast) Off(slow)..... On On Off....
What is the meaning of this signals about?
3, It always go into diagnostic screen when 1st boot of the day. after let it completely run, it show no problem found. I'm not sure why but my keyboard should be no problem.
4. My laptop freeze when playing simple game, or watch youtube. wonder why is it. My laptop is equip with 8400MGS graphic. does it cause by the graphic card? or my system crash?
I have a dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on it won't boot, even the POST or the BIOS won't show up. I removed the battery and power supply and press down the power button for a long time and repeated it a lot of times too but no luck. I removed the HDD, RAMs and the CMOS battery and kept it that way for 5 mins and put them back in but it was still the same. I noticed that whenever I enter the ac adaptor into the laptop the fan moves for like 100millisecond and the light on the caps lock button lights up for the same amount of time then it all goes silent. Same happens when I press the power button with only the battery inserted.
All what happens when I try to turn it on is that the power indicator light on the laptop turns on(white color, which is the normal color for this laptop), and that's it. The light don't blink or anything at all. No beep sound. The fan, HDD everything remains silent. Only that light stays on until I unplug it from ac and remove the battery. Pressing down the power button doesn't turn it off either. No other indicator light such as the wifi's, hdd's, battery's light doesn't turn on.
Power button lights up and fan cycles to 0% no hd indicator illuminates from pb assembley, no beeps, no monitor, nothing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought this acer laptop about 5 months ago, it was working fine up until a couple days ago that I started to notice that it would shut down after 3-5 minutes of usage, sometimes shorter, and while plugged in, it would shut down before I could even type in my password.
I'm certain that overheating is not the problem, the tempature inside my laptop hovers around 50 and it never feels hot to the touch when it shuts down.
I'm trying to fix my fathers laptop so he won't have to spend money on a new one. Here's the problem:
When I press the power button to boot the laptop it does not boot, it just flashes the power light(s) on and off at maybe 1 flash per second. I've tried removing the RAM-sticks one and one, removing the HDD, removing the battery and removing the DVD reader (not all at the same time, of course). None of those helped, it still did the same thing.
Then I tried to blind flash the bios from a CD, the laptop comes on with the fan at full blast, the DVD reader comes on and it stays on, but it never finishes and powers off.
Our Acer Aspire One 725-0845 will not charge. It is plugged in with the power cord, but the charging light does not blink and the amount of power left in the battery is dropping. I'm thinking it is:
1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or
2. a faulty battery
But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.
I bought my laptop like 1 month ago, and after update windows 8.1 Browinsg started extra slow, playing games with highest ping, While playing games i can see enemies but i cant do anything to them,After while when i opened my laptop i got black screen nothing was on only the power light were on. I had exactly the same problem with my Acer Aspire 5552G with win7, I tried all things that was online e.g. New battery, Flashing bios, Fn + esc without battery when trying to start the computer and so on.
It started now and then and worked perfect but when I shut it down again it could take me up to 50 tries to get it started.
The problem was issues with the boot sector on the hard drive!
Finally I made an Win7 repair disc and started from.
I also checked for errors on the hard drive and it repaired some sectors before starting windows.
After that it works like when it was new. The computer was bought January 2011.
I have an Acer Aspire 7740-6656 that shows no signs of life. I have tried removing and replacing the battery as well as trying different locations to plug into power. I have even tried removing battery and power supply and holding start buttom 30 seconds. Except for a green light on the power supply cord, still no signs of life. What if any are my options?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to stay on the Intel Gpu on mains power , every-time i re-boot the notebook it is on the Intel for the first 30 seconds or so and then it automatically switches to the ATI 4330 and i have to manually switch to the Intel Gpu.
I will be using the Intel 95% of the time, I only need the Ati 4330 to play Battlefield 2.
I would like very much for the USB ports (or at least one of them) to stay on when the computer is in sleep. I travel frequently and hotel rooms have limited power and I would like to keep my mobile phone plugged into the laptop. I've seen you answer a few questions on USB limitations and settings...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received my new Aspire One (I actually bought two from Circuit City) and one will NOT boot up. (The second works fine!) I've fully charged the battery. It will boot up to a warning message that a password is incorrect. (It won't stay on the screen long enough to read completely.) The machine seems to loop through the startup process a couple times, and then just powers down. I've tried stopping at SETUP (F2), but it will power down in that screen, too.

Have tried taking out battery and replacing, holding down power button for 30 seconds.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am recently having a problem where after I shutdown my XPS12 sometimes the fan will continue to run and won't stop till the battery dies. Recently I shutdown my full charged computer and but it in my laptop bag. I show up to office and realize my bag is scorching hot and its because my laptop was still "on" yet the screen was blank and the keyboard light was off. The battery only had 10% running. The computer was so hot I was afraid it was going to melt. This is the second time this has happened.
Summary:
XPS12 fan stays on after shutdown and the screen has turned off and the keyboard light is out. The computer wont turn on or off and the only way to stop the fan is to hold the off switch. Computer then powers on like normal. I believe the processor is also running as the computer get extremely hot and will only shutdown once the battery is drained.
I have a Latitude E6510 that will not start. When pressing the power button, the power light goes on for about 5 seconds and then turns off. I also notice the battery light flashes a few times when re-connecting the AC adapter.
Removed the battery, held in the power button 30 seconds, but still not working.
We have had this laptop about 6 months. About a month ago, it exhibited this problem. After talking to Dell Support, they recommended a system board replacement. The laptop was sent in and the board was replaced. When I got it back and tried to start it for the first time, it did the same thing. I then pressed the Latitude "ON" button, and the laptop started.
Now it is doing the same thing, and I find it hard to believe that another system board is bad. I am suspicious about this "ON" feature, that maybe the laptop is "stuck" or something trying to get into the "ON" mode. Or maybe it is just trying to get into "ON" mode.
I am not sure what the "ON" feature does, but I have noticed a few other posts on the internet of users having the exact same problem. Again--I find it hard to believe a second system board could be bad.
