I just got a Vaio NW. So far I am loving it, as well as loving Windows 7. The one question I have is, is it normal for the disc drive indicator light to continuously flicker/flash?
The programs I have running are Google Chrome, and Norton 2010 Internet Security

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy not too-old XPS L502X will not turn on. The battery indicator still has a single light remaining when pressed. When I plug in the power adaptor (blue light on power adaptor is on at this point) the blue light goes off.
Have tried in multiple plugs, same thing happens.
Have tried taking out battery and replacing, holding down power button for 30 seconds.

1. The DVD-ROM(TS-L632D) is indicator is ON all time. the eject button is not fucntion after pass BIOS boot screen.
2. When I connect the Power supply to laptop, The Power LED indicator blinking, like On(fast) On(fast) Off(slow)..... On On Off....
What is the meaning of this signals about?
3, It always go into diagnostic screen when 1st boot of the day. after let it completely run, it show no problem found. I'm not sure why but my keyboard should be no problem.
4. My laptop freeze when playing simple game, or watch youtube. wonder why is it. My laptop is equip with 8400MGS graphic. does it cause by the graphic card? or my system crash?
I have a dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on it won't boot, even the POST or the BIOS won't show up. I removed the battery and power supply and press down the power button for a long time and repeated it a lot of times too but no luck. I removed the HDD, RAMs and the CMOS battery and kept it that way for 5 mins and put them back in but it was still the same. I noticed that whenever I enter the ac adaptor into the laptop the fan moves for like 100millisecond and the light on the caps lock button lights up for the same amount of time then it all goes silent. Same happens when I press the power button with only the battery inserted.
All what happens when I try to turn it on is that the power indicator light on the laptop turns on(white color, which is the normal color for this laptop), and that's it. The light don't blink or anything at all. No beep sound. The fan, HDD everything remains silent. Only that light stays on until I unplug it from ac and remove the battery. Pressing down the power button doesn't turn it off either. No other indicator light such as the wifi's, hdd's, battery's light doesn't turn on.
I bought new dell inspiron 15r model lappy. when i connect a wire for internet thru LAN port, there is no Light indicator there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

Now it only opens occasionally when prompted to do so and it has stopped reading discs; when I go to My Computer it tells me to insert a disc when there is one in the drive.

The slot loading disc drive keeps making a noise. It seems to be functioning properly and there is no disc in it and no jamming. It almost sounds like it random is pulling a CD in or ejecting one.
Is this normal?
I just got my system the other day and I didn't get it with the blu-ray drive. It seems it wasn't even on the configuration menu when I ordered my system.
Can anyone check our their device manager and tell me the blu-ray drive you currently have? I'd like to buy one and install it myself (Don't worry I'm pretty tech savvy).
I Have an acer aspire 5100 but when to format hard drive and do full recovery but nothing went on the disc does any one have a copy of the recovery disc to help me out

I installed the Event Service again and I am thoroughly stumped.

I have a Lenovo Y410P that will not boot. The BIOS only sees to PXE boot. It does not attempt to boot from the Windows 8 installation disc, or from the hard drive that I reinstalled Windows on myself. I can boot to both of these on other computers, so I know they are not the problem. I'm thinking it's BIOS or motherboard related, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

To top it off, my volume indicator seems to have disappeared.
I was making a Windows 7 recovery disc set, usning the Lenovo Thinkvantage tools, and one of the first pop up windows that came up said "Note: DVD RAM is not supported for Disc 1 of the Product Recovery disc set". Does this meen that I cannot use a DVDs for a Recovery discs? That is all I have.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnything I do on this machine, the HD lights barley goes out. It just keeps flashing. I think it is what slowing my machine down. When i am playing a game, I get laggy fps and what not and I think it is the HD slowing it downs. Even when the machine is doing nothing the HD light is solid. I ran the HP HD tests and it found no issues. My "File searching index" for vista is turned off. I have enable write chaching and enable advance proformance enabled. Any ideas? I am getting pissed off with this becasue it really laggs my system down. It is a decent system when it works right..

However now when I power up the computer the front 2 lights - charging and lights come on but the hard drive doesnt even flicker nor does the wifi and the screen remains black. It doesnt even try to boot. SOmething else must have come loose or shorted I guess. Should I pull the laptop completely apart and check all connections now or what is likely to be the problem? Everything was working ok previously as I hooked the laptop with cracked screen up to a monitor and it worked perfectly before i started mucking about with the screen.

I'm running Win7Ultimate 64-bit and the power plan is most of the time either on "balanced" or "dell".

I wanted to know whether this temp is considered normal under my described usage conditions and if there's any tweaking that can be done to lower it.
Another bit of interesting information about this drive is that it used to click like crazy when it first came from Dell, until I installed the firmware update in mid Dec. It's been quiet like a mouse since then but I'm wondering if the new firmware could have made it run hotter.
