Acer Aspire V3 551-8469 :: Power Indicator Light Blinks Several Times But Not Turn On
Feb 25, 2015I have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

Nov 14, 2014This morning, my Inspiron 3721 (18 months old) failed to turn on. Worked fine last night.
Symptoms: on pressing power button, only power light illuminates, but no other noises, no fans, no screen response.
Have removed battery, removed power lead, held down power button for 50 seconds. Reconnected battery & power lead, but no change to above behaviour.
Tried a different power lead but no change to above.

Went to get on it this morning and the power button won't respond. When it is plugged in, the LED light shows that it's charging, but when I try to turn it on, the power button doesn't respond. Every few presses, the power button lights up for a split second, then turns off. The screen never responds to the power button being on for a split second.

Nov 9, 2014I have an ACER Aspire 5542g and i've had a problem with it lately, when I turn it on, the fan starts running, the harddrive turns on, and the CD drive starts up, the power button LED is on, but all that shows up is a black screen. I have tried the "Take out the charger and battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds", tried switching the RAM, tried taking out the harddrive, and all have been a fail. And I am honestly confused, because some of the time (rarely) it will turn on, and literally everything about the laptop is perfectly fine, and its like nothing happened. Until you turn it off.

Dec 25, 2014First I need to let you know that my home network consist of a Motorola modem/wireless router from my ISP. I have the wireless turned off, then I use a cat5 ethernet cable to connect a Belkin wireless router so that I can use the two USB ports on the back for a Networked storage device for doing regular backups on all the pc's in the house, and my non-wireless printer, so we can print from anyroom of the house, instead of taking the computer back to where the printer is. So about three days ago I got my Aspire 5734Z-4386 laptop, and I did not have a wireless connection. So I checked my phone, and it still had a connection to the Belkin. I took about ten minutes to troubleshoot the Atheros AR5B93 wireless adapter. Could not understand why I didn't have a connection, it was working great about 12 hours before.
So for some reason I used another pc and logged into the Motorola and turned the wireless back on, and immediately the Aspire was showing a connection available, I clicked it and it said "connecting" for a few seconds, and then showed "internet connection". I spent about 5 minutes surfing the internet, and then disconnected from the Motorola and reconnected to the Belkin, it said "connecting" for about a minute, then the yellow triangle came up, no internet. Went back and clikced the Motorola, again internet connection, but not on the Belkin. So I got the other pc and checked the webpage for the Belkin to make sure the Aspire hadn't gotten blacklisted somehow, there's nothing there to explain why I can't connect. So I have spent three days, uninstalling the adapter, and re-installing, I used the Motorola to download the latest driver for the adapter.
When the Aspire is on the Belkin network with the rest of the other pc's, I have no problem moving files from and to the Aspire. I can use the Aspire to log in to any of the other pc's and right-click a file and copy to the Aspire, and watch the file show up on the Aspire, or take the Aspire and copy a file over to another pc, or use another pc to access the Aspire. But I can not get an internet connection, unless I'm on the Motorola network. Now I had the wireless on the Motorola turned off so all the connected devices would be on one network so we can share files, and other network connected activities.

Feb 27, 2015My battery indicator seems to be showing incorrect readings. When I get to about 16% battery, it will drop to 5%. It will not even show the battery critical warning, it just goes to 5%.
I already tried reinstalling windows to factory, same issue. Also installed Linux to see if it was a specific problem with Windows, same issue.
I ran powercfg to see what was going on and see this for my battery;

For some reason, it is showing a full charge of more than design capacity. Could this be why it incorrectly thinks it has more battery, and then quickly readjusts to 5%? I tried recalibrating (three times) the battery by completely draining and then completely charging and have the same problem
Also, I found that if I overcharge (leave it plugged in after fully-charged light comes on) then this problem disappears for that discharge cycle, but will return if I don't overcharge it for the next cycle. It seems to think it's fully charged too early when it's actually not!
Honestly, I'm hoping there is a way to fix this without having to replace the battery, since it's not removeable for this model so I would have to send it in for warranty replacement. This laptop is only about 6 months old.

Oct 29, 2014I have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. It's just over 2 months old. It's been for repair twice, and both times the repair does not solve the original problem.
The issue is this... I will charge the computer to 100%. While using, the battery indicator will show different values at different times. Basically all over the map. Once the indicator gets down to 30% or so , I'm in the "shut down" zone where the computer will shut down because there is actually little or no power left in the battery though its says 30% or 24% or whatver value it may be.
Again this has been to the Acer Repair Shop to be "repaired" twice so far. They changed the Mainboard ( Motherboard I assume) TWICE so far and the problem STILL persists. I can't even get to the "Low or Critical" battery warnings ( currently set at 15% and 5%) because it shuts down before reaching those levels.

Dec 13, 2014I have a Ferrari 5000 ZC3. It quit working, all was working fine it shut down itself and now it wont start at all, I only have a black screen. All that lit's up is the power button. the Numlock and caps lock led lights up about .5 sec. the hdd light lights up for about 5 seconds. when the power button is pressed again it goes off immediately.
To eliminate a hdd failure I have removed the hdd and powered up without the hard drive installed, no change at all besides that the hdd led doesn't light up.

Dec 27, 2014i purchased a dell Inspiron 3521 in July 2013 and i encountered this problem When i push the power button, the only thing i get is the power LED which is illuminated without blinking.... I waited for a while but it changes nothing the only way i can switch the power LED off is by removing the battery.... Holding the power button for a few seconds doesn't switch it off... Also when i plug the power adapter without battery, i can see the power adapter LED also lighting....No fan spins, no HDD light. Tried with Other new universal adapter and new battery. Not working.
Removed Battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds and tried removing static power if any.Nothing happens. Only power light is on No fan spins, no HDD light.
So dats everything about my laptop as per now...

Feb 15, 2013My dell laptop model is INSPIRON 1464.
Recently, it can't power on. Assuming that it was a static-flea problem, having happened before, I did the "remove the battery & AC power, holding down the power button for 30 secs" solution countless of times. Yet, to my dismay, it still couldn't power on.
I did notice, however, that each time the battery and the ac power were in and the socket power on, the battery indicator and the ac power cord were both lit. With this, I am certain that the AC power cord is working, and probably the battery is as well. I have also tried directly relaying the ac power to the laptop without the battery attached but failed.

Mar 10, 2010The laptop wouldn't boot. I took the keyboard out to see if I could swab-dry any water, but couldn't really find any in there.
I lightly sprayed around with compressed air and left the laptop open with the keyboard out to try and let it dry out for a few hours, but no dice...still wouldn't boot.
I thought maybe via cell phone logic, it might work again after 24 hours or so. It's been almost three days now and it still won't boot, so I'm pretty sure I fried something. Here's the error code it's giving me .....

Dell Inspiron 5521 :: Won't Turn On - Only Power Indicator Light Turns On
Jan 24, 2015I have a dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on it won't boot, even the POST or the BIOS won't show up. I removed the battery and power supply and press down the power button for a long time and repeated it a lot of times too but no luck. I removed the HDD, RAMs and the CMOS battery and kept it that way for 5 mins and put them back in but it was still the same. I noticed that whenever I enter the ac adaptor into the laptop the fan moves for like 100millisecond and the light on the caps lock button lights up for the same amount of time then it all goes silent. Same happens when I press the power button with only the battery inserted.
All what happens when I try to turn it on is that the power indicator light on the laptop turns on(white color, which is the normal color for this laptop), and that's it. The light don't blink or anything at all. No beep sound. The fan, HDD everything remains silent. Only that light stays on until I unplug it from ac and remove the battery. Pressing down the power button doesn't turn it off either. No other indicator light such as the wifi's, hdd's, battery's light doesn't turn on.
Acer Aspire 6930 :: Will Not Power Up Even After Power Reset
Oct 13, 2014I have an Aspire 6930 that suddenly died and will not power on. The LED power button was dark and unresponsive. I performed a power reset and the blue light on the power button came back on until I pressed the button to try to restart the laptop. When I did that, the blue LED immediately went dark and stayed that way until I did another power reset. It never gets to the point of anything powering on. Is it a problem with the battery or it the laptop toast?
This is a real bummer since I just replaced the hard drive a few weeks ago and replaced Windows Vista with Linux Mint (which btw is blazing fast compared to Vista).
