I own an Acer Aspire v5-572P-6858 laptop. I was using it last night and it worked perfectly fine. I turned it off and set it aside for the next day. Today I woke up and tried to turn on my laptop but nothing happened. Pressing the power button gets no result. The battery is charged as well. What do I do?
View 2 RepliesMy Dell 17r will not start and emits a constant, steady beeping. It is not the usual bright beep code, but more of a subdued, muffled beep. It is constant and never stops. There is no code.
I have tried all the other listed fixes or testing that has been posted in about 50 other threads. Powering off, pulling the battery, discharging the extra power, swapping memory around, etc etc.
The problem is slightly intermittent as it will sometimes boot normally. Diagnostics revealed nothing and reports everything is fine.
It doesn't appear heat related either as it can happen when dead cold after sitting for 3 days or after it has been working for an hour in diag mode.
Tried to boot up my inspiron, and all I got was a black screen, and a loud clicking sound. I have win 8 installed.

I have tried the methods suggested on the forum site (remove battery-press power button for 40 secs-put battery back -start) but nothing happens. The laptop refuses to start. No lights, no message, just NOTHING.
My laptop doesnt want to turn on at all while pressing the power switch. When this problem occured, i dont know how the laptop automatically powered on without me touching it. THe second time it turned on, i tried to pressed the power button, the laptop didnt go to sleep mode, which is supposed to happen normally. I tried holding the switch for more than 10 seconds, it didnt powered off. When i hit restart from the charm bar, the laptop shuts down and turns back on without problem.. But then i hit the shutdown, it turned off... But, i cant get it back on, i even tried holding it for a minute. I even took the battery out, tried it with the AC, but no luck..
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy T420 takes about 20 seconds from pushing the power on button to the Lenovo POST screen. After that boot takes about 30 seconds to Desktop. What bothers me is this long wait until I see the POST screen. It doesn't seem normal to me.
My System is setup with Windows 7 64bit booting from UEFI on a mSATA Crucial M500 SSD. It has 16GB of Ram and a i7 CPU. I have the newest BIOS (1.46) installed.
Why it takes this long to reach the POST screen?
I got a X230 with 4GB 1Rx8 PC3-12800S-11-12-B4 memory installed. I tried to upgrade it with two Kingston KVR1066D3S7/4G 1.5V memory sticks.
Unfortunately after installing new memory sticks (combinations don't matter) my laptop doesn't power on. After pressing the button there's just a flash and BIOS doesn't boot.
Everything is back to normal after restoring the previous RAM configuration.
Is there something wrong with my memory sticks or is it some kind of bior issue or maybe something else?
I have a problem on my Acer 1810tz - when I press a Function button, such as Fn + F8 = mute/unmute sound, there is a very long delay of up to 3 seconds between pressing the button and seeing the speaker symbol show up on screen.
Acer's Launch Manager program is what displays the on-screen symbols. I have installed the latest version from the Acer website (it is a fresh install of Win7 64bit) found here, version 3.0.02.
When I purchased the laptop the symbols appeared straight away but now, after a fresh install, there is a long delay. All I have installed is chipset/graphics drivers and touchpad drivers.
is your power button on the top right sort of recessed into the body and harder to push without using a fingernail (i have larger hands)?

When I press just once, the Lenovo`s logo is displayed on the screen, but after 2 seconds everything turns off. On the second trying, finally the laptop turns on and the windows is started.
In addition, rarely the laptop stucks on the lenovo`s logo screen, being necessary to hold on the power to reset it.
I just bought my HP Pavilion 360 less than a month ago and it's only been used for schoolwork and research. No virus or threats were detected. It was working fine today until I had to charge it. When it was fully charged, I turned it on and the screen just froze. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button but it didn't work. Now, the screen's just black but the power button's lit up (meaning it's turned on). What do I do?

Went to get on it this morning and the power button won't respond. When it is plugged in, the LED light shows that it's charging, but when I try to turn it on, the power button doesn't respond. Every few presses, the power button lights up for a split second, then turns off. The screen never responds to the power button being on for a split second.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER Aspire 5542g and i've had a problem with it lately, when I turn it on, the fan starts running, the harddrive turns on, and the CD drive starts up, the power button LED is on, but all that shows up is a black screen. I have tried the "Take out the charger and battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds", tried switching the RAM, tried taking out the harddrive, and all have been a fail. And I am honestly confused, because some of the time (rarely) it will turn on, and literally everything about the laptop is perfectly fine, and its like nothing happened. Until you turn it off.

Here exactly what happened:
(1) While working, he turned off (I thought loss of power, but the external HDD worked, so that wasn't it).
(2) I pressed Power, the white ACER screen came up, I pressed F2 to check the setup and was hoping that it was just a short clinch with minimal loss of data in windows, but... a few seconds later, the screen turned black..
(3) I pressed power again to turn it off, again to turn it on and this time, black already, no ACER white-screen at all...
(4) What happens if I press power now, is always the same > the fan starts, the DVD-Drive makes short sound + HDD starts (as it all should usually) -> but then after3 seconds or so, without beep, the fan turns off, the HDD keeps turning, but nothing else happens anymore - all black like dead
For about a month or so my Vostro V130 has not been turning on. Upon pushing the power button, the power button itself lights up for a second at most and then cuts right off. During this time, the screen remains black and nothing else occurs. I've tried turning it on while plugged in and charging and tried turning it on after being charged an hour or so. Everything yields the same results.

I can't figure out how to get me screen back, thought it was a lighting issue and tried Fn and the left and right arrows, but that doesn't work. Usually end up rebooting and losing what I've been working on.

I got an E1-572G Acer Laptop and I'm having a problem with it.When I press SHUT DOWN the screen goes black but the power led is on.. and I can't turn it ON because I have to press the POWER BUTTON for about 5 seconds then all the led-s turn off and then I can start it. 1. Pressed the power button to turn on the laptop
2.the fans run and the computer makes its usual whirring noises as it would normally do whilst booting up.
3.the screen however remains completely inactive. As if the laptop is off.
4. I turned it off and on again several times. Once it came on and worked as normal, I could access all files and backup everything.
5. This morning I turned it back on and it has done the same thing. Makes the sounds as normal but screen is inactive.
I have turned off and on again and connected an HDMI cable to an external screen but there is no signal.
I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 5935G and downloaded and installed all drivers from the Acer website. I currently am experiencing the following probs:
1. The Acer PowerSmart Button is not working (cannot find drivers / application to make it work)
2. Cannot switch from the onboard video card (Intel) and the "discrete" one which is an ATI Radeon Mobility 4570 HD
- Both video cards are installed
Current OS - Vista Ultimate x86 SP1
I have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

I tried both reset and refresh options both not working. I dont have a recovery disc. I created one in another laptop(Toshiba)running Windows 8. Now I want to boot from the recovery media but it is not doing it. View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a Ferrari 5000 ZC3. It quit working, all was working fine it shut down itself and now it wont start at all, I only have a black screen. All that lit's up is the power button. the Numlock and caps lock led lights up about .5 sec. the hdd light lights up for about 5 seconds. when the power button is pressed again it goes off immediately.
To eliminate a hdd failure I have removed the hdd and powered up without the hard drive installed, no change at all besides that the hdd led doesn't light up.
The computer is in dead state the next morning after I switched its Windows power plan to high performance. In order to unlock power plan options, I disabled connected standby via a registry key in HKLMSystemControlSet001ControlPowerCsEnabled to 0.
After investigating, I read that this computer doesn't support normal hibernate wake-up process other than connected standby. I select shut down option in the menu (hibernate option disappeared). It's possible that shut down option in the menu was actually set to sleep/hibernate in power settings by default.
The battery was at 100% before I last turned it off.
The LED power indicator doesn't light on when power supply is connected on either DC or microUsb.
