View 5 RepliesI have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi need help, i like to turn off the battery indicator in my m1210, is it possible? the problem is the indicator keeps on blinking the orange light, this may be due to the dead battery,
i just like to turn off the battery indicator if possible and keep the battery intact.
I have an Aspire E5-411... I like many others am experiencing the same issue. A "sound" notification would not work for me. I went to the Windows 8.1 site and saw someone ask the very same question about his Acer a few months ago. The Rep. at the Windows site told him that that feature was locked and he would have to contact his OEM (in this case Acer) how this feature could be unlocked. Is this true? I need to be able to see a caps lock notification.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy battery indicator seems to be showing incorrect readings. When I get to about 16% battery, it will drop to 5%. It will not even show the battery critical warning, it just goes to 5%.
I already tried reinstalling windows to factory, same issue. Also installed Linux to see if it was a specific problem with Windows, same issue.
I ran powercfg to see what was going on and see this for my battery;
Battery ID17266SANYOAP13B3KManufacturerSANYOSerial Number17266ChemistryLIONLong Term1Sealed0Design Capacity53400Last Full Charge55455
For some reason, it is showing a full charge of more than design capacity. Could this be why it incorrectly thinks it has more battery, and then quickly readjusts to 5%? I tried recalibrating (three times) the battery by completely draining and then completely charging and have the same problem
Also, I found that if I overcharge (leave it plugged in after fully-charged light comes on) then this problem disappears for that discharge cycle, but will return if I don't overcharge it for the next cycle. It seems to think it's fully charged too early when it's actually not!
Honestly, I'm hoping there is a way to fix this without having to replace the battery, since it's not removeable for this model so I would have to send it in for warranty replacement. This laptop is only about 6 months old.

Power button lights up and fan cycles to 0% no hd indicator illuminates from pb assembley, no beeps, no monitor, nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy not too-old XPS L502X will not turn on. The battery indicator still has a single light remaining when pressed. When I plug in the power adaptor (blue light on power adaptor is on at this point) the blue light goes off.
Have tried in multiple plugs, same thing happens.
Have tried taking out battery and replacing, holding down power button for 30 seconds.
When I purchased the above laptop, Windows 8 was loaded, however, due to some issues, I had to install Windows 7. Since the time, I have had the following issues:
-The CAP and NUM lock indicator is no longer operable
-The laptop is VERY slow
-When watching NETFLIX, the screen goes to sleep every 20 minutes
I recieved the Aspire one notebook for a christmas gift not to long ago and it is an awesome little gadget. But what just happened a few moments ago is the camera decided it wasn't going to work anymore and I got a message saying. "Camera not detected." I tried doing restarts resets and even did a eRecovery only to be told that it was a usb device and that I need to "plug it in". I don't understand why it decided to randomly stop working and I'm rather annoyed by it and would like some assistance on this issue. I had to send back one notebook already because the power source was busted I really don't want to have to send this one back too.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on it won't boot, even the POST or the BIOS won't show up. I removed the battery and power supply and press down the power button for a long time and repeated it a lot of times too but no luck. I removed the HDD, RAMs and the CMOS battery and kept it that way for 5 mins and put them back in but it was still the same. I noticed that whenever I enter the ac adaptor into the laptop the fan moves for like 100millisecond and the light on the caps lock button lights up for the same amount of time then it all goes silent. Same happens when I press the power button with only the battery inserted.
All what happens when I try to turn it on is that the power indicator light on the laptop turns on(white color, which is the normal color for this laptop), and that's it. The light don't blink or anything at all. No beep sound. The fan, HDD everything remains silent. Only that light stays on until I unplug it from ac and remove the battery. Pressing down the power button doesn't turn it off either. No other indicator light such as the wifi's, hdd's, battery's light doesn't turn on.
Power indicator light stay on, even with the computer off and unplugged, beside that The computer is working fine

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. It's just over 2 months old. It's been for repair twice, and both times the repair does not solve the original problem.
The issue is this... I will charge the computer to 100%. While using, the battery indicator will show different values at different times. Basically all over the map. Once the indicator gets down to 30% or so , I'm in the "shut down" zone where the computer will shut down because there is actually little or no power left in the battery though its says 30% or 24% or whatver value it may be.
Again this has been to the Acer Repair Shop to be "repaired" twice so far. They changed the Mainboard ( Motherboard I assume) TWICE so far and the problem STILL persists. I can't even get to the "Low or Critical" battery warnings ( currently set at 15% and 5%) because it shuts down before reaching those levels.
I had bought HP Pavilion 14-V040tx I installed the laptop with windows 7, and installing all driver

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo Thinkpad x201 laptop and I cannot get the integrated camera to turn on independent from Skype. It definitely works, I have used it several times with Skype, but I can't figure out how to turn it on outside of Skype. I have tried the Fn+Esc and the Fn+F6 things, and quite frankly I'm not even sure if it applies to x201 laptops, but its definitely not working for mine. My laptop is refurbished and i just got it recently.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my Acer Aspire One A150.
The system won't shut down, and just restarts if I try and turn it off.
I have to pull the battery out if I want it to turn off.
When I plug the battery in, it turns on straight away without me having to press the power button.
Also the system won't work off the Mains Power only (with battery removed).
If I plug just the power lead in, the power light flickers and the system keeps clicking until I unplug it again.
The system works with the power lead only if the battery is plugged in as well.
When I try to start my Aspire V3 nothing happens, but the light in the "start" gets on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 5552-5898. It has a built in mic in the screen, which I can't seem to disable. I have gone into the control panel and thought I had disabled it under the Sound/recording section, but the **bleep** thing just wont turn off. Driver is apparently up to date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop recently died on me it won't power on when I press the power button it blinks for less then a second and the led at the bottom that has a light icon does the same. Nothing comes on the screen. I have tried booting with several sticks of ram and 2 different cpus. I'm beginning to think my motherboard is shot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Acer Aspire E 15 from Walmart.
So far it's wonderful, but it was advertised in store as a touchscreen. I was testing it out and everything.
I was just wondering how to turn on the touchscreen? I've searched everywhere, but I can't figure out how to.
I have a acer aspire 7741z - 5731 model MS2309 that wont turn on but when i plugin the charger the blue charger led functions but power wont work will i need to replace the motherboard? and can any 7741z motherboard be compatible with this laptop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe laptop was working fine last night. Today I turn it on but nothing happens. Ive tried turning it on with the AC and no battery and also with the battery by itself but no lights turn on - not even the charging battery light. The adapter is correctly plugged in. The battery was full last night, so you'd think that it would turn on when running the battery by itself.
Its about 1.5 years old so its out of warranty.
Ive tried holding the power button for 30 seconds and then waiting ~5 mintues and plugged the battery back in and nothing. I also did it again but tried with the adapter and still no luck.
What can I do to revive it?
Update:
Just wrapped the notebook inside a blanket and overheated it, then let it cool down.
Now it works.
All i have to do now is to remove the Nvidia gpu stuff left behind and it should be ready for use again.
Edit:
My problem is exacly the same as the one described in this thread:
Aspire 7520 - will not start or then will not shut off
But i could not find any fix.
My stepdads Acer Aspire 7520G wont turn on anymore.
The wierd thing is that it was working yesterday.
Now it just keep rebooting like seen in this YouTube clip.

Its out of warranty so i was hoping i could try fixing it myself.
With the help of the community here of course.
I been randomly searching Google for help and what i have found out is that this is a common problem, but i have yet to find any fixes other than the suggestion to remove the motherboard and reheat it inside an oven..................
