i need help, i like to turn off the battery indicator in my m1210, is it possible? the problem is the indicator keeps on blinking the orange light, this may be due to the dead battery,
i just like to turn off the battery indicator if possible and keep the battery intact.
My not too-old XPS L502X will not turn on. The battery indicator still has a single light remaining when pressed. When I plug in the power adaptor (blue light on power adaptor is on at this point) the blue light goes off.
Have tried in multiple plugs, same thing happens.
Have tried taking out battery and replacing, holding down power button for 30 seconds.
When I plug power, battery indicator bulb indicating and when i press turn on button on laptop, suddenly battery indicator bulb turned off and laptop wont start. then i removed battery and install it again. then again battery indicator bulb indicating. this sequence happening again and again. what could be the reason.....
I have a dell inspiron 15r 5521 laptop. Yesterday when I tried to turn it on it won't boot, even the POST or the BIOS won't show up. I removed the battery and power supply and press down the power button for a long time and repeated it a lot of times too but no luck. I removed the HDD, RAMs and the CMOS battery and kept it that way for 5 mins and put them back in but it was still the same. I noticed that whenever I enter the ac adaptor into the laptop the fan moves for like 100millisecond and the light on the caps lock button lights up for the same amount of time then it all goes silent. Same happens when I press the power button with only the battery inserted.
All what happens when I try to turn it on is that the power indicator light on the laptop turns on(white color, which is the normal color for this laptop), and that's it. The light don't blink or anything at all. No beep sound. The fan, HDD everything remains silent. Only that light stays on until I unplug it from ac and remove the battery. Pressing down the power button doesn't turn it off either. No other indicator light such as the wifi's, hdd's, battery's light doesn't turn on.
I have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.
My Dell inspiron 6400 has a battery that works amazingly but recently, I noticed a change in the behaviour. Anytime I switch the laptop on, the LED battery indicator shows me red meaning something is wrong even when the battery is fully charged. The battery charges normally even when I intentionally drain out the power and try charging it again. This is just to make sure that the battery charges fine. Infact, in windows, it shows me that the computer is on AC power even when it is not plugged into an AC outlet.
The BIOS shows "No battery installed" and windows tells me the same. Summarily, everything is fine except for the LED indicator showing Red and the BIOS telling me that no battery is installed.
Actually, I own an XPS 15 for a year now. But I'm having issues with the battery; the icon shows that it charges to 56% only. As far as I noticed, the battery indicator never turns orange.
i've just purchased a 2.0GHZ aluminum macbook recently and am having a small problem with it. The macbooks battery percentage indicator seems to be dropping a percentage point every couple of days even though i'm on mains power? The power adaptor LED is green idicating the computer is fully charged. I've calibrated the battery as apple recommended but its still doing it. The apple tech guy said that it is possibly a 'power board' problem rather than a battery fault and it will need changing. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Other than this small problem the macbook is fantastic, should have coverted over from a pc years ago
Recently, it can't power on. Assuming that it was a static-flea problem, having happened before, I did the "remove the battery & AC power, holding down the power button for 30 secs" solution countless of times. Yet, to my dismay, it still couldn't power on.
I did notice, however, that each time the battery and the ac power were in and the socket power on, the battery indicator and the ac power cord were both lit. With this, I am certain that the AC power cord is working, and probably the battery is as well. I have also tried directly relaying the ac power to the laptop without the battery attached but failed.
I have a problem with my laptop. Just the power light is lighting up and the battery indicator is flashing in orange ( with charger, without charger - nothing). Nothing on the screen, no fans, no sound.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 which I've been using since 2010. Recently I bought a new charger for my laptop as the old one got damaged and now when I'm charging the laptop the touch pad is not working properly. It is slow and sometimes I can't select items with the touch pad. So I changed the charger and when I checked in the shop the touch pad with new charger (the second one) was working fine. But when I went home again the same problem with the touch pad when charging only. When I remove the charger it works fine. And I also tried with a friends charger (but another dell model) and it works fine. And now my laptop battery indicator is blinking red three times. That also happens when charging only.
I have a dell xps 15z laptop and I have replaced the battery because it was not giving any backup. Now i plugged new battery but the battery icon says"0% available, (plugged in, not charging)". Also an indicator is blinking (four times orange and one time white) below the laptop screen (the hinge where screen is attached to the base of laptop).
I just got a brand new Thinkpad T540p. I'm very happy with it, but I miss the battery indicator I had in the taskbar on my older Thinkpads:
I am trying to get it back/install it, but I keep failing at it. In particular, I have searched around ThinkVantage Power Manager software, found and installed this: [URL]
My battery indicator seems to be showing incorrect readings. When I get to about 16% battery, it will drop to 5%. It will not even show the battery critical warning, it just goes to 5%.
I already tried reinstalling windows to factory, same issue. Also installed Linux to see if it was a specific problem with Windows, same issue.
I ran powercfg to see what was going on and see this for my battery; Battery ID17266SANYOAP13B3KManufacturerSANYOSerial Number17266ChemistryLIONLong Term1Sealed0Design Capacity53400Last Full Charge55455
For some reason, it is showing a full charge of more than design capacity. Could this be why it incorrectly thinks it has more battery, and then quickly readjusts to 5%? I tried recalibrating (three times) the battery by completely draining and then completely charging and have the same problem
Also, I found that if I overcharge (leave it plugged in after fully-charged light comes on) then this problem disappears for that discharge cycle, but will return if I don't overcharge it for the next cycle. It seems to think it's fully charged too early when it's actually not!
Honestly, I'm hoping there is a way to fix this without having to replace the battery, since it's not removeable for this model so I would have to send it in for warranty replacement. This laptop is only about 6 months old.

After Updating my BIOS through HP Support Assistance....while using on battery on my laptop...the battery Indicator Can't goes down...it always shows 100%....using on battery the indicator can't decrease on windows 8.1....
I was trying to resolve an issue about my battery indicator and i tried getting an energy report and its giving one error... This is the message i am getting :
USB Suspend : USB Device not Entering Selective Suspend
Acer R7-572-6423 Windows 8.1 Bought April 28, 2014.
Issue: I get a black screen permanently now. When connected to wall battery indicator is blue, I touch the power button, power indicator turns blue for 7 seconds then turns off. Nothing happens. Screen doesn't power, can't hear any fans, etc. Same issue when not connected to wall.
There was a BIOS update version 2.04 which fixed a problem "2. Revise system can't boot when "Exit Discarding Changes" was selected in BIOS menu." I believe that's my issue.
Is there any recovery method that can be done at home to get it out of this state?
Here's a video from another user with the same laptop and identical problem but no fix : [URL] ....
Another user suggested sending in the laptop to have the EPROM replaced but never said why or if it fixed it.
Tried: pinhole button to reset the system removed battery, hard drive looked for crimped wires in hinge going to screen
I have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-5602. It's just over 2 months old. It's been for repair twice, and both times the repair does not solve the original problem.
The issue is this... I will charge the computer to 100%. While using, the battery indicator will show different values at different times. Basically all over the map. Once the indicator gets down to 30% or so , I'm in the "shut down" zone where the computer will shut down because there is actually little or no power left in the battery though its says 30% or 24% or whatver value it may be.
Again this has been to the Acer Repair Shop to be "repaired" twice so far. They changed the Mainboard ( Motherboard I assume) TWICE so far and the problem STILL persists. I can't even get to the "Low or Critical" battery warnings ( currently set at 15% and 5%) because it shuts down before reaching those levels.
Working on a dell Inspiron b130 laptop. The power is plugged in, and battery is in. The power will not turn on at all, no fan or CPU. The main power light comes on when button is pressed for a moment then goes off. The battery light flashes slowly. The power cord adapter has a light on it and that says its working. I have tried taking the battery out and that does nothing.
I had assumed since its an older laptop that maybe the power was so drained that it needed it to be charged a little to have enough power to turn on. But it's been awhile an nothing yet. Is it trashed? We do have another hard drive around to try would that matter at all?
Laptop: Dell Inspiron 1564 OS: Windows 7 Home Problem: Does not turn on.
Cause: Was working fine until last night when I shut it down, did not turn on when I tried to turn it on later in the morning. No known cause.
Details: My laptop does not turn on in anyway - with charger put on or without charger.
It was working fine when I shut it down the other night but when I tried to turn it on in the morning, nothing happened. When I press the power-on button, just battery light (of the 3 lights on laptop) glows for a while and then it goes off as well. Other than that, nothing happens at all. I have tried taking the battery out and putting it in, plugging ang unplugging AC - nothing works.
I left the laptop unattended whole day and when came back, I tried to turn it on and the battery and power lights both glowed this time and continued glowing but screen was blank and no sound nothing happened for a few minutes and then I powered it off. Tried to turn on again, nothing happened, back to old problem as stated earlier i.e. only the battery light glows for a while and then goes off ....
I was listening to some music yesterday night, then suddenly my laptop decided to shut down. No problem I thought, becaus it happened 2 times before in which I only had to start the laptop. This time however, the laptop does not want to turn on.
I tried turning it on with the battery, and without the battery(with the adapter plugged in). Nothing helps.
Also I have noticed that the light bulb on the adapter blok blinks if it is plugged into the laptop, but just normally doesnt blink when i pull the adapter out of the laptop(with or without battery).
I'm running windows 7 64bit, I got a new RGBLED screen as a replacement mid last week. Now I just realized that when I close the lid the screen isn't turning off. I've went through all of the power options and set it to "Do nothing" when closing the lid and that, for every single laptop I've owned has made the screen to shut off when closed. If I let it idle it'll dim and then shut down like it normally would during windows use. Is there a quickfix or some sort of driver needed? Also grabbed a 9cell battery from a parts sort locally, couldn't believe they had a 9cell for $30! This thing looks brand new, but I'm suspicious that it might be some chinese fake, how can I determine if it's real? It only have 1.0% of wear on it according to HWiNFO32.
The battery of my inspiron N5110 is 100% charged but my lap doesn’t turn on without the AC adapter, I checked it in the dell support center and it says its working fine but the battery led blinks 4 times red and 1 withe. If I disconnect the AC adapter the lap turns off. Everything else is fine.
