View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Latitude E6510 that will not start. When pressing the power button, the power light goes on for about 5 seconds and then turns off. I also notice the battery light flashes a few times when re-connecting the AC adapter.
Removed the battery, held in the power button 30 seconds, but still not working.
We have had this laptop about 6 months. About a month ago, it exhibited this problem. After talking to Dell Support, they recommended a system board replacement. The laptop was sent in and the board was replaced. When I got it back and tried to start it for the first time, it did the same thing. I then pressed the Latitude "ON" button, and the laptop started.
Now it is doing the same thing, and I find it hard to believe that another system board is bad. I am suspicious about this "ON" feature, that maybe the laptop is "stuck" or something trying to get into the "ON" mode. Or maybe it is just trying to get into "ON" mode.
I am not sure what the "ON" feature does, but I have noticed a few other posts on the internet of users having the exact same problem. Again--I find it hard to believe a second system board could be bad.
I have tried turning off computer and letting batteries charge, tried turning of and holding power button, this model has internal batteries, I don't want to open laptop and try disconnecting batteries.

I bought this in a really big hurry, because I do school online. I do own and Alienware, and it was having network problems. So I found a guy who had this computer, and he turn it on for me, the power light was blue, he told me that it hadnt been plugged in in a while. He gave me a 90 day warranty, along with the charger. I brought it home set it on the desk and plugged it in. Left it on the charger for about 9 hours. Pressed the power button, a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and thats it. My question is, is this savable? It could be a battery or it could be the charger. Those parts are not expensive, and I know a friend who could really use a laptop. Or should I sell it for parts..

When I plug the power adapter into the jack on the laptop, the blue LED jack light flashes once, stays on for up to a second, then turns off. That's all the laptop can do.
Pulled the battery, but changed nothing. Trying to troubleshoot where the problem lies.
.After I push power button, one of 3 lock lights, the A lock flashes blue, and a steady blue power light occurs to right of keboard, for about 5-7 seconds, then turns off after a soft high pitched beep.. When I power it up, the fan comes on for about 3 or 4 seconds, and the hdd light flashes three times in a row, then waits a second or two, the flashes three times again, then goes black. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
My dell inspiron 1525 wont charge and it only comes on when connected to the charge, the battery says charging normally, then on the home screen it says connected not charging. On the outside the battery flashes back and forth going from blue to Orange.

Just bought this laptop. When I press the power button, the blue light comes on but not the screen. I'm able to charge my phone but that's it. I have to turn the laptop on and off several times before the screen comes on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOur Acer Aspire One 725-0845 will not charge. It is plugged in with the power cord, but the charging light does not blink and the amount of power left in the battery is dropping. I'm thinking it is:
1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or
2. a faulty battery
But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.

I changed the AC adapter as a Hardware problem, but I couldn't change the battery because it is built-in.
On the other side of problem - I mean as a Software problem :
1. I tried to restore the system -from Backup and Restore - till the first point but nothing happened except it restored the first password . . !
2. I tried to make a restore from Dell DataSafe local Backup, but the system said the adapter and the battery must both plugged where the adapter doesn't respond at all.
3. I tried with Ubuntu Operating System (Linux), when I thought that problem Might be from Windows 7.
4. I upgraded the BIOS drive.
5.. I set the BIOS setting to the default - F2
When I plugs the AC Adapter the percentage never reduce, but the hours remaining changes, exactly shows (829 hr and 48 min (20%) remaining).
I hit enter eight times, and I get a choice of entering a password or continuing, when I continue I can go on to windows. If I choose enter a password I get a blue window with a KEY. I can take the eight digit number key, and enter it in a program on another computer, 'allservice.ro/acer' which gives me the password. I enter the password into my laptop (acer aspire E1-531-2438) and it leaves the blue window, and I can continue either with the HDD loading windows 7, or I can load a cdrom or dvd.
This is great. But if I reboot, and hit F2, I enter the BIOS, and choose security, and I see that the HDD password is still set. If I hit enter, I can enter the HDD password, but when I enter the one I just used, it tells me it is invalid.
I have also tried to kill the power, and startup again going into BIOS, but the HDD password I just used is still invalid.
All of my headphones work on my other devices, so I know that the problem is not with the headphones themselves. The problem is that when I use my headphones with my laptop, everyone esle around me can hear what I'm listening to. What do I need to do?

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently I have had some issues with the battery in my laptop not wanting to charge. The battery is fine when I have it plugged in but when it is plugged in it won't charge. If I let the battery fully die out I can't get it to charge at all.
I have tried removing the battery and shutting things down and holding down the power button to flush the power but that didn't work. I have tried putting the battery back in when the computer was still on but that only lasted for an hour or two. I have tried two different batteries thinking that was it was an issue with the battery but I still had the same issue.
I have also updated the BIOS but that didn't do anything. I will try and update it again and see if there is an update I have missed but are there any other things I can try?
In my replacement 1640, i have noticed there is an option to turn off battery charging.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy battery life was appauling (15 mins), so I decided to do a full discharge and recharge (Nothing to lose by doing it)
After this was done I loaded back into windows and checked my battery monitor, unplugged my laptop and waited 10 minutes.
It was still at 100% 10 minutes later.
I looked in another utility and it was reporting ludicrous values for Full Capacity - 920,643mWh (At this point I became very scared of the prospect of a Lithium Fire).
I worked out the capacity of my battery:
wattHour = ampHour * Volts
Ah of my battery is 2.0, and it provides 14.8 Volts
Max battery capacity: 29.6wH (29600mWh)
The program is reporting 29834mWh (Which seems like a perfectly acceptable value considering not all batts are the same)
Seems like the battery is still good... (It's certainly running longer than before, up to 30 mins so far).
I'm sure my battery is dying (3 years old), just this makes it seem like it isn't?
