View 2 Replies View Relatedi accidently stored a fully charged battery for almost 3 weeks, but yesterday when i attached it to my laptop, my laptop wont turn on. it is as if it cant supply power. i attached the ac cord to see if it was discharged but it wasnt, even windows recognizes it as fully charged. but again the battery cannot supply power to the laptop
is there anyway to save my battery or do i have to buy a new one
My laptop is Dell ultrabook XPS 13. I've been used it for about 6 months. I don't know when it started to be like this but I've just noticed recently that the battery shown on desktop is never full charged even when it's plugged in for long hours. Last week it's at 41-42% at maximum but now it never reached more than 39% and it seems to be less and less even though I keep it plugged in every time I use it. I'm worried there's something wrong with battery but it said my battery is still fine, but obviously it's not fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOur Acer Aspire One 725-0845 will not charge. It is plugged in with the power cord, but the charging light does not blink and the amount of power left in the battery is dropping. I'm thinking it is:
1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or
2. a faulty battery
But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.
On mostly when my charge is 96% the charging light starts blinking red continuously , some thimes it does not charge the laptop too , but after some time it starts again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a D510 battery that according to the laptop LED is fully charged however upon booting into windows the battery power indicator and the dell quickset indicator show only 84%i have also let the laptop charge the battery while in windows however even when the charge indicator on the laptop is off and the indicator in the taskbar shows running of the mains the charge is again 84%i have tested the battery health using the inbuilt indicator and it is OK, it is only 12 months old but i am aware that degridation takes place, but could this just be a case of windows not reporting the charge correctly and its nothing to worry aboutthe battery lasts between 2-3 hours on average id say thats goodupdated the battery seems to be stuck charging at 88% is that a sign of simple wear and tear?

When I started him for the first time and try Alt + F10 nothing happens, so I decided to format HDD and put XP on it. I changed AHCI in bios (to IDE) and formated the HDD with Windows Xp. Installation of Windows Xp went just fine. It works fine and everything is ok.
I Only thing I don't have on it is EmPowering. I tried to find it on Acer website, but no way
My 2 day old Lenovo Y510P laptop has a problem with charging. I noticed the battery was never going above 60% charged. I left it plugged in for over 24 hours and nothing changed. So I decided to completely drain the battery and used the laptop until it died. With the laptop off I left it plugged in until the battery LED turned white which indicates the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately the battery still shows 60% charged.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Aspire 5535 and it came with Vista Home Premium. I want to get rid of vista and load XP on it. Problem is I keep getting a hardware error when trying to load XP. I went as far as pulling the HD out of the notebook and hooking it up to my desk top to reformat it, and try it in the notebook at that point, same problem, blue screen f death when it tries to start the windows installation. I then take it out of the note book again and partially load XP up on it from my desktop till the first reboot prompt, re-install it back into the notebook, only to still have the same problem. Is there some hardware issue that needs to be over come here or am I missing something obvious? Or even still, will XP even work on this notebook?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought lenovo z-50 recently, when i plug in charger it shows white light that's okay.. But there's no other light to show that its fully charged or light turns orange to show its fully charge, something like that..
I'm talking about when laptop is turned off and you're charging.. When its powered on and you're charging then obviously you can see the percentage. Can I do something from the settings or its like that?
My Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
I have a HP Pavilion G7 notebook. The model is 1219-wm.
I recently did a clean re-install of Windows 7 ultimate from a CD. After I did the re-install, the wireless orange light stays on and will not turn to white/blue.
I have tried to download and install drivers from the hp website. NOTHING seems to work. I even tried to download the HP Wireless Assistant Support Wizard, but it doesn't work. It keeps saying that the Wireless Assistant is not compatible with my model.
Every time I troubleshoot, I keep getting the following message "Install a driver for your network adapter"....
My SPXS 16 will not charge to 100% unless I have it turned on.
When it's turned off and charging, the lights on the hinge of the screen will go off, meaning it's fully charged, but it's only charged to about 90% when I turn it on.
I'm assuming this is happening because the battery is not calibrated with the BIOS correctly..
We have a Dell Refurbished Inspiron M5010 for about a year. All of a sudden the battery is recognized but will not charge. It says it's plugged in and charging; but stays at 0%?

Is it the Mother board or the Harddrive? Replaced screen due to vertical and horizontal lines in color. Computer worked normal at times. I thought it was fixed but then while doing a HP diagnostic program the computer said to shut down because the batttery situation might harm the computer . I tested the AC adapter. I installed a new battery and at first it was working again. I updated and scanned with AVG & Malwarebytes. Did another HP diagnostic and at one point was told to restart. It never lived again to this point.
All it does is light up the power light and W/LAN (F 12). Blue lights are on at times indicating Cap locks and number locks are engaged. I did do a complete factory restore before it came to this point and updated the bios (to F 37) and downloaded updates for chipsets and Graphics also.(after screen installed) The only thing it does now is make noises at startup and power indicator is lit now Light keeps cycling.(light off, light on) in ten second intervals.

I bought an Aspire R13 recently and noticed the spacebar wasn't backlit. Is that normal?
Also, am I the only one who is able to hear the backlight's high pitched PWM when it's fully on?
I have an Acer Aspire 5630 and the USB ports do not go off when Windows is shutdown, hibernating or when it goes into slleep (standby) mode. They only go off when I disconnect the AC power. I just bought an external USB drive as my internal is almost full, but I don't want to have the external drive on 24/7. Disconnecting the drive is a bit inconvenient as I use the laptop with an external display and keyboard and keep the laptop itself hidden behind my desk. I updated the BIOS to Ver. 3.60, but I don't see settings in the BIOS for USB ports. Can these ports be turn off programatically. Do I need a special Acer Application or drivers to turn off the USB ports? I removed all the Acer Management bloatware that came with the laptop. Are there any jumpers inside the laptop that need to be changed?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Acer Aspire 4720 has an annoying CPU fan "on/off/on/off" behaviour that is impossible to control via software, so I wired it up with a resistor internally, soldering to a USB +5V header. The fan itself works great, but ...
The USB power (and thus the fan) stays on when I put the laptop into "sleep" mode. In Hibernation, it turns off as normal.
How can I make the USB power turn off when in normal "sleep" mode?

My acer aspire v5 - 122p went through an automatic update recently after it powered back on it never booted past the initial Acer boot screen I eventually did a hard resetbut now the screen stays completely black the fan is on the blue lights are on but nothing else. From what I have read online you can flash the bios but the file I have downloaded on the Acer website does not match any of the tutorials I have read or watched.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed my laptop has been running quite hot recently so I downloaded a thing called Speedfan, which tells me my CPU is running at 70-80 degrees C. Isn't this really, REALLY hot for a laptop? I really don't want it to overheat and break
I first noticed it and found that it was maxing out at 82 degrees, and the movie I was watching was getting jumpy. I was using WMP, MSN, Internet explorer for basic browsing, with Vuze running in the background. The most I ever use. This is my specification:
Acer Aspire 5535
4GB RAM DDR2
AMD Turion X2 Dual Core RM70 (2.0GHZ/1MB)
320GB HDD
Shouldn't this laptop be able to handle these tasks without getting so hot?
