I tried to turn it on again by pressing Fn + right arrow key on my keyboard to turn it on but the lights on my touchpad light up as well as caps lock when I turn it on but not the rest.
i m using Inspiron 15R SE 7520..when i tried to on the backlight its not working...i tried with fn+f6 nd still its nt working...what hsould i do to make it work?
I bought Dell Inspiron 15R SE (7520) like a week back. The laptop is just fantastic and it's working pretty well as intened. Today i just found out that this laptop has a KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT. I turned it on from the Windows Mobility Center, but it's not working at all, do i need to install any drivers for it? I work mostly during night time and a backlight would really good...
My touchpad and keyboard quit working all of a sudden. I tried to reboot and I can't select the safe mode choice cause the arrow keys on the keyboard don't work. Some people suggested that I remove the battery and reboot, and again nothing.
I am trying to troubleshoot a E1-531-4836 model laptop, the right handside from the 9 does not work. So Num Lock and number pad etc does not work. The touchpad does not work well either. I can plug a USB keyboard and mouse in and they seem to work for the most part. Sometimes I can not bring up the charms etc with the USB mouse. then I have to hit the space bar on the laptop keyboard, and I then can use the USB mouse to bring up charms. I tried updating drivers and restoring to original settings. Did not fix my problem.
I am using an external bluetooth keyboard now and those keys work using it. I have also replaced the keyboard on the laptop but the Keys WAZS still do not work ....
I woke up this morning and for some reason my keyboard has suddenly stopped working it was ok last night. The touchpad and touchscreen are fine but nothing on the keyboard works? Only had it for about 5 months....
Just bought this laptop. When I press the power button, the blue light comes on but not the screen. I'm able to charge my phone but that's it. I have to turn the laptop on and off several times before the screen comes on.
Ive had this Acer laptop E1-510p with window 8.1 and all of the sudden some of the keys accross the keyboard stop working. These keys are random and even when i plug in a generic keyboard it does the same thing ....
I desperately do NOT want my back light to turn off after 30 seconds or whatever it is. I want it to STAY ON. There must be a setting for this. Where is it?
Replaced LCD screen and still no backlight. Troubleshooting charts say replace MB. MB is P7YEO_U98 . Is there different number for the MB? Any other backlight solutions to try?
It is working with an outboard monitor using the 'D' connecter. While I was using that method to update Windows the backlight popped on and stayed for the session. Have not gotten it back after multiple tries.
I have an acer 7513 wsmi the screen went black no backlight. It worked using the blue video cable connected to a TV. I replaced with a new screen now have a backlight but no images etc. still works with TV though. I up put windows 7 on it so it has no acer drivers at all. I have tried alt 5 etc but no joy.
I have a Dell XPS M1530 ,I am fixing for someone, originally with a Microsoft Windows Vista but it stopped working(no further info on how) so I tried to install Windows 7(Multiple times(4)) and all it does is stack upon itself (When booting it shows Windows 7, Windows 7,Windows 7, Windows 7,Windows Vista). When installing it goes through but stops on the reboot, I did disconnect the USB, but it gets "frozen" on Starting Windows (on reboot of installation). Safemode stops at system32driversdisk.sys.
I tried using this method; but this is for cd (I am using an external HD) [URL] ....
HP DV7 6143cl Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit recently updated IE from 9 to 11.
I bought the laptop mid 2011and did not get around to looking at the fingerprint reader until the end of that year. I used it briefly but with very few passwords I un-enrolled my fingerprints and let it sit idle.
Recently I decided to use it again but it was dead. I installed the Validity Fingerprint Sensor driver sp55109.exe and HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 sp54680.exe. Upon restart it took me though the fingerprint enrolment process and started working.
The first driver is the actual sensor and the second is the management software, correct?
Very recently I updated Internet Explorer from 9 to 11 and the SimplePass stopped working again. So I repeated the above steps but only overwrote the existing drivers.
It started working again in that I can logon the laptop with a fingerprint and I can assign a website to an enrolled fingerprint to launch but it is no longer asking me if I want simple pass to save passwords.
Could this be related to IE 11?.
I read Dragon Fur's tutorial on SkyDrive: Simple Instructions to Upgrade HP.
Should I try again after I delete the existing fingerprint driver?
I the tutorial mentions an very new driver sp63224 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.276 Win7-8
Would this driver work or am I just overlooking something else as it partially functions?
I have a timeline 4810T which has worked lovely since September, but now I have a weird problem with it: The keyboard won't work until the operating system is loaded. I can't access the bios (press the F2 key but nothing happens), neither select my OS on the Grub menu as the arrow keys doesn't work, all I can do is wait for the 10 seconds timer, then Ubuntu launches, then I can login without problems and all the keys work perfectly.
To give more details, maybe some keys do actually work before the os boot, because when I'm on the grub menu, some keys manage to stop the timer, but unfortunately I can't change the OS or accept the selection, then I have to reboot and wait for the timer to go back to 0 for itself and ubuntu loads.
I'm running the newest BIOS, updated some days ago but didn't had the problem since today.
I currently have an AA1 and am curious to those who tried typing on both the HP Mini and the AA1 keyboards and noticed a difference. I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
I recently had my laptop apart to put different thermal paste on the cpu, but now my backlighting isnt working for the keyboard. does that little ribbon cable control that? Its kinda hard to get it to stay attached. If not then is this a normal thing for these keyboard lights to go bad?
In own a Pavillion DV7 2070ED. I spilled wine over the keyboard...
My insurance will cover this so money isn't really the problem. So I was thinking about buying a backlight keyboard instead of the original black one (which works really annoying in lowlight conditions).
Now I found a thread about backlight keyboard but I'm unable to find out which backlight keyboard is compatible with my laptop. On the motherboard there is input for the keyboard-backlight. So thats not the problem.
The keyboard backlight used to work, but it no longer does. I have tried Fn+F6, Fn+Right Arrow, and going to C: Program Files/ Dell/ Quickset/ BacklightKB and none of these are correcting the solution.
