View 4 RepliesI just bought an ACER E5-771G-54N6 and after 2 days my touchpad just stop working (Win 8.1 , 64-bit). This is obviously a software (driver) issue, and after researching and finding out that a Windows reisntall is the only solution, I find that hard to believe that this can't be fixed through a patch. These type of problems shouldn't be occurring on brand new laptops.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my keyboard there are 4 buttons to the right of the power key and lights...
Looks like 1.Mail, 2.a Globe, 3.a "P", 4. an "E"
How to use?
What is going on with this acer software? Used to be able to watch blurays on something called acermedia. Did an upgrade to something with a rediculous name - BYOC, and now the abmedia solution doesn't allow viewing of discs. Is this correct, or has something gone wrong with update?
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy problem is that WiFi literally don't work - i can't connect to any network.I'm using Windows 8 Pro.It's a i5 + geforce gt 630M version. When i'm installing an Atheros Drivers, it says that device is disconnected and drivers cannot be installed.
Wi-Fi is totally turned off - I mean the led isn't lightning, blinking or nothing - it's dead.
I can't use Fn + F3, it don't work at all.
I've installed LaunchManager, Fast Lane, Touch Pad and Dritek Rf button.
Now, in Fn + F3 i can turn Airplane mode, nor Wi-Fi.Is there any solution to turn this on? It stopped to work from day to a day - yesterday it works, now it isn't.
Done some formats, it don't even work on Windows 7 with Acer drivers. Maybe card is dead?
I have only had my acer aspire v3 771g 6814 for about 18 months. recently it has been shutting down afer 5 minutes. I took it to a technician and he said it's not a fan problem because the processor isn't over heating. so is there a way to fix this? I can't send it back because the warranty has expired ....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V3-771G which I got in 2013. I've had no battery problems before. Earlier this month I noticed that the orange charging light remained on longer than usual. I turned my computer on and noticed that it said that the battery was 98% charged and charging.I have not done the procedure of discharging and recharging the battery three times as mentioned in the manual.
I have not removed the battery since I first installed it (it came with the computer). I don't normally use the laptop on battery power unless it happens to be on during a power outage.I would like to know if I need a new battery or not, as I am concerned as to if the laptop will be continuously trying to fully charge the battery thus wearing it out prematurely. The computer came with Windows 8. I have installed Windows 8.1.
When powering up I get the Acer screen for about 10 sec and then black screen. Immediately before this there was a Windows update for the graphics card, if I remember correctly. I have tried hard power down 3 times but on the 4th time I do not get the message "preparing for automatic repair". I am unable to get into Safe Mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought the Acer Aspire v3-771G. I've had no problems with it, but lately it shuts down randomly without any warning, like a power cut. I've checked the CPU Temps and overheating is not the problem. The computer sits on a Targus cooling pad and it doesn't get that hot around the fans. The problem occur when the pc is running games or processes (computer scans) that require more memory than when I'm just surfing. The problem happens all from 15 mins to 2 hours into a game or so (depends on how much memory that's used). I've been doing some research myself and it seems like a graphic problem.
The computer always fits the minimum requirements for games I play and I play on rather low graphics on every game (to delay the shutdown).
The second problem is whenever I'm streaming or watching a movie the screen randomly turns into a "snow storm". Tried to move the screen up and down thinking it was something wrong with the cable from the hardware to screen but it didn't react to that. What has made this to happen due to the careful handling of the computer. But the only thing that comes to mind is something wrong with that cable... This problem happens randomly and started last week.
I've done some basic problem solving, with no success. I've tried restoring the computer to facotry setup, updating the bios and all the relevant drivers.
I've been looking for a hardware diagnostic program on the computer itself (like other good brands have) with no luck, even looked on the web. But nothing I've tried seems to find the problem.
The specs for the computer:
Acer Aspire v3-771G
Windows 8.1 (Came with Windows 8.0)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40
8.00 GB (RAM)
64-bit operating system
Nvidia GeForce GT 630M
I've made a backup when I bought the notebook Aspire V3-771G. After that, I've installed Win 7 with my own serial key. All partitions I deleted. Right now I want to recover system to factory default but I haven't recovery disk nor recovery partition. I've got only backup five files ended with .NFB extensión and one with .CAL extensión. I've tested ghost programs and backup software but none of them could read backup files. Is there any solution for this without buying the recovery disks ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday before I went to eat lunch I turned on my laptpp and signed in. When I came back it had a blue screen with a kmode exception not handled error. After waiting an hour the getting data portion was stuck on 0 still so I forced turned it on. After that the moniter wouldn't turn on even though the laptop was on, I heard the turn on noise and could hear the fan running when I listened. I tried taking the battery out and holding the button for 30 seconds and putting it back in and after a few times it managed to turn on with the screen. But it froze at the start up logo and after another hour I turned it off and havnt been able to get the screen back on again. Is there anything else I could do?

My keyboard is partially not working, launch manager didn't work correct b4 but now some letter keys & even shift keys r not working.
Saying that, my battery came out of laptop (lock was unlocked) when it was shut down, anything to do with that maybe?
The keyboard and cursor do not work.A USB mouse and keyboard works.

Also, am I the only one who is able to hear the backlight's high pitched PWM when it's fully on?
I am trying to troubleshoot a E1-531-4836 model laptop, the right handside from the 9 does not work. So Num Lock and number pad etc does not work. The touchpad does not work well either. I can plug a USB keyboard and mouse in and they seem to work for the most part. Sometimes I can not bring up the charms etc with the USB mouse. then I have to hit the space bar on the laptop keyboard, and I then can use the USB mouse to bring up charms. I tried updating drivers and restoring to original settings. Did not fix my problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFew days ago I've installed Xubuntu on my Acer Aspire 5920G notebook. I saw that blue media buttons (these on the right side of the keyboard) started to work as a mouse wheel. Using 'play/pause' with 'stop' I can scroll vertically, and using 'next' with 'prev' I can scroll horizontally. It's quite annoying, because I often use them accidentally. When I was using Windows, there wasn't any problem (buttons didn't worked). Is there any method to disable them (like in Windows)?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a timeline 4810T which has worked lovely since September, but now I have a weird problem with it: The keyboard won't work until the operating system is loaded. I can't access the bios (press the F2 key but nothing happens), neither select my OS on the Grub menu as the arrow keys doesn't work, all I can do is wait for the 10 seconds timer, then Ubuntu launches, then I can login without problems and all the keys work perfectly.
To give more details, maybe some keys do actually work before the os boot, because when I'm on the grub menu, some keys manage to stop the timer, but unfortunately I can't change the OS or accept the selection, then I have to reboot and wait for the timer to go back to 0 for itself and ubuntu loads.
I'm running the newest BIOS, updated some days ago but didn't had the problem since today.
I currently have an AA1 and am curious to those who tried typing on both the HP Mini and the AA1 keyboards and noticed a difference. I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy apple had Mac and XP installed on it. My friend suggested me to install Windows 7 on it. And I thought it was a good idea. So I started my XP and runned it up. When win7 was completely installed everything seemed to work. Except that a few buttons on my keyboard don't work anymore now. The button for throwing out CD's and DVD's don't work anymore. And my 'Fn' button doesn't work anymore. Does anybody else have the same problem as me, or does someone know how to fix this. Because I also can't change the brightness. Which is set to maximum at the moment.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought this laptop to ease my sense of dispair when im away from my pc - however it seems to crash about once a month and then stop working for a while... like a week and eventually it just recovers completely for another month? im guessing it has something to do with built up static or something? im not big on laptops.. a lot of the time it seems fine but then when i open up WoW it crashes up again
also if i have it closed while listening to music or something it constantly makes this "dudu" noise as though theres some important notification but nothing on screen and it makes it like every 15 seconds but just randomly...

my G7 laptop has been getting slower and now there is a problem loading as it won't do it. I have tried pulling out the battery, rebooting and the only thing I get is the HP sign and then it shows the loading circle and then screen goes gray. The buttons on the keyboard register if you press them, but nothing shows up on the screen.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy does my E1-521 laptop shut down every time? Regardless of what I select, sleep, hibernate, close lid, it still shuts down. That is not what power buttons are set up to do, seems to make no difference what those settings do. It may be a coincidence, but I think I started having problems when I turned on "OneDrive".. which I can't seem to turn off! Running Windows 8.1....
