my G7 laptop has been getting slower and now there is a problem loading as it won't do it. I have tried pulling out the battery, rebooting and the only thing I get is the HP sign and then it shows the loading circle and then screen goes gray. The buttons on the keyboard register if you press them, but nothing shows up on the screen.

hp support page for my laptop showed a newer bios available,so i installed it and from then my laptop shows black screen i.e it switches on and keeps blinking capslock twice and 2 sec interval and repeats.i searched the internet and found that twice capslock signifies bios failure.so i thougth of following the win+B method,but the problem here is,when i extracted my bios package sp*****.exe i have 2 *.bin files and i dont know where to paste them on my pendrive.
I have an hp pavillion g6 laptop (Product QE05UA#ABA, Model: g6-1c35dx). For a while its been causing problems, it's been slow, showing viruses, and now it wont start up. I left it on sleep mode last night, once i opened it up today it was turned off. I figured it lost battery which usually doesn't happen, but I turned it on and it shows a blinking screen that comes on and then turns black, over and over. The blinking screen shows "press esc key for startup menu".
Also, the caps lock key blinks once when that screen comes on. When I push "esc" it shows this:F1 system infoF2 system diagnosticsF9 boot device optionsF10 bios setupF11 system recovery Enter- continue startup. I've tried them all, including some tests in "bios setup". Dont know much about computers, and this is one that I need...
I have pavilion dv7, so far I had no problem. Now, when I login it logs in but then instead of showing me the home screen, it goes into blank black screen. It has just started to happen and I hope there is another way to make it work without rebooting the whole system.

When I press enter to "Try again" it come back with:
File:WindowsSystem32winload.efi above the error code listed above.
I have tried the Recovery and after MUCH time waiting, it still comes back to the above mentioned screen. I have also run all the diagnostics that are available on the laptop and everything come back normal. I don't have the original discs or documentation as I "received this laptop as a "gift/curse" . It is, however, registered to me.
it feels like something is blocking my eject key (and sometimes my L-shift key). Nothing that I know have is fallen through the keyboard...
I'm guessing I can't take off keys from a laptop keyboard. Is the best course of action to call dell? I don't really want to send away my laptop, but I may have no choice...

I've had on and off issues with my "d" key for the last two days, ads you can see when I hit "A" it hits the d ads well.
Is this ad simple keyboard issue that I can get fixed with ad new keyboard or potentially something else?
Have an issue with the keyboard on the HP Envy 17. There are three keys that, for whatever reason, stopped working.
The "o" key produces zero, left key, home, period, 'o', and 'p'.
The 'L' key produces three, period, page down, six, 'l', and semi colen.
The '.' key produces '2', '5', end, '4', period, and forward slash.
This happens every time the key is pressed. If held, they produce the above, then the last key repeatedly.
All other keys perform as expected. If a seperate USB keyboard is used, it works fine.
I've tried updating and rolling back the BIOS, as well as 'resetting' by removing all power for a few minutes. Have also uninstalled the driver, then installed the latest.
I also purchased a replacement keyboard from HP (part #720244-001) and installed.
I currently have a XPS 15 (L521X, Mid 2012) that I use at college, and it's "p" key has been getting harder and harder to press. It's at the point where hitting it does not register any action unless I press down on it. Do I have to open the laptop up/take the key out? And how do I do this?

Have had my Helix for just two days and this morning I got a 'Keyboard Dock Fan error'. I have updated all software including BIOS updates, so before I return my laptop to the reseller, my question is, is there anything I can do since I assume this is a hardware fault ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy apple had Mac and XP installed on it. My friend suggested me to install Windows 7 on it. And I thought it was a good idea. So I started my XP and runned it up. When win7 was completely installed everything seemed to work. Except that a few buttons on my keyboard don't work anymore now. The button for throwing out CD's and DVD's don't work anymore. And my 'Fn' button doesn't work anymore. Does anybody else have the same problem as me, or does someone know how to fix this. Because I also can't change the brightness. Which is set to maximum at the moment.

The screen is not black and I can still move the mouse but I can't press on any icons or do anything. I have tried to scan the computer for virus and run other test, but usually the computer freezes before it is done.

I've tried various techniques I've read about to correct the problem such as removing power from the laptop for an extended period of time and installing new bios drivers but nothing seems to work. From the information I can gather this is a common problem with this model of Dell laptop. What is the best way to correct this problem. View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have a Pavilion g6-2334sa notebook pc, 9 mos old. Never tried to use DVD before. When inserted, DVD turns but doesn't automatically run. When searched for in myPC, it shows in the available drives, with the DVD highlighted. Tying Open, it goes as far as showing Audio_TS and Video_TS. Clicking on Video_TS shows files currently on the disk, in this case 69. If I click on any of these, it takes me to Video tools rather than running the file. So, unable to get beyond this stage to actually get the DVD to play. CD's work fine by the way.

I've recently installed Windows 8 on an SL500 Lenovo ThinkPad. One of the three messages in Action Center is a problem with the hotkey utility. Lenovo's Support page recommended installing gevu65ww.exe. The current version is 4.22.1000. After this is installed, I click on "finish" and get the notice that "this program does not support this system. The volume/mute buttons next to the keyboard have not worked since upgrading to Windows 8. The Windows 8.1 has the same problem.
