I have hp pavilion dv6 laptop.I am trying to recover my whole system with the recovery discs i have created . But it stuck afetr windows logo on a blue screen with mouse pointer.
And whenever i tried to install from other media then its shows error 0Xc00000f.
I recently got this laptop and wanted to upgrade to Windows 8.1 immediatly since it came with Windows 7. This was of course and option with the disc set that came with the laptop. Unfortunately i have encountered problems in the installation/recovery of Windows 8.1.
When the laptop is finished using the actual disc's (i say finished because it spits out disc 4 which is the last one) and is booting into the OS to do the last installing it "freezes" in the middle of "dowork.cmd". In the cmd window it tries to access a destination directory which it can't. Instead of writing it here, i'm just gonna link a picture of it:
I just don't understand why simple recovery discs would cause a failure... Googling the problem has only lead to this: URL....
My girlfriends Inspiron 1545 WINDOWS 7 got the blue screen message.
After trying to restore to a prior date it is now stuck in a repair loop.
Few days ago, my laptop wasn't running well. I made a hard reset - remove everything and reinstall windows by using HP Support Assistant. It was done but when laptop reboot, a install windows message showed:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."
So I press enter many times but it was that message. I have no time to waste. I use HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b013nr.
Is there a way to create a Windows Vista Installation disc from either the Hidden Partition or Recovery discs? I am not talking about a "Factory Restore"... I am talking about installing a clean version of Windows using the product key on the bottom of the laptop and then using the sony website or Recovery discs to install the drivers.

When I clicked on it it would just restart the computer without anything else happening. I then right clicked on the computer >manage> disk manager and made the recovery partition active. When I rebooted the computer it began showing:Bootmgr is missingPress Ctrl+Alt+DeleteWhich of course leads back to the same message after te computer reboots. I can't access F8 key. Only F10 (Bios) works. I don't have a recovery or installation CD as it didn't come with the laptop when I purchased it.Is there anyway I can change the active partition back to the C drive, this disabling the recovery partition? I read that it was possible to access disk manager from cmd prompt window, but I don't know how to access it since the F8 key won't work (makes just a bipping noise when pressed)?I am also out of the country so can't mail my laptop to HP to have it fixed.

I've just replaced HDD by SSD and tried to make a recovery USB media by means of 8.1 recovery utility. The process takes suspiciously short time, but finishes normally reporting that media is created. The size of all files on the flash is about 200 MB. When I did the same media with HDD the size was 12GB. I tried to boot with that flash and it failed with a message about corrupted media or the like. I always believed that windows does not take into account the physical structure of the drive and cannot understand what's going on and what to do.

It does not attempt to boot from the Windows 8 installation disc, or from the hard drive that I reinstalled Windows on myself. I can boot to both of these on other computers, so I know they are not the problem. I'm thinking it's BIOS or motherboard related, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

When I press enter to "Try again" it come back with:

I have tried the Recovery and after MUCH time waiting, it still comes back to the above mentioned screen. I have also run all the diagnostics that are available on the laptop and everything come back normal. I don't have the original discs or documentation as I "received this laptop as a "gift/curse" . It is, however, registered to me.
I keep getting blue screens complaining about igdpmd64.sys x00000050. I noticed on the day that I suddenly started getting blue screens Windows installed a bunch of windows 7 x64 updates. Does the recent windows updates can cause this?
At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
All Windows, drivers and antivirus are updated and free of virus and/ro coruped files. Chekdisk reports no problem. cannot read Mini DUMP files. Blue screen to quick to read.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the HP- Pavilion g7 Notebook and have not had any problems until I was getting a Blue Screen of death after an update of Skype got on my computer. I had to do a system recovery several times until I found out this is a problem apparently caused by skype, now skype wants to update again and windows7 doesn't like it at all, the machine crashes again. Last resort, I downloaded an older verson of skype which works fine but in the long run doesn't solve the problem. If there is a fix what is it, I have not gotten any suggestions from skype, to get this resolved. The only thing I hear it might be related to some driver that has not been updated. What can I do?

I restarted the computer and my computer couldn't load my Windows 7 OS. I already tried Safe mode, I tried to the repair option. The computer tried to repair for 7 hour without any results. I already tried resetting with Windows recovery disc, didn't work..
it's just stuck there, the blue progress bar doesn't show up, I tried pressing f8 but nothing appears. I have also tried draining the battery and recharging then rebooting but nothing happened. It is completely unresponsive. It used to work just fine, just last night I've been playing games and it was working smoothly. But when I woke up and booted up my laptop, nothing was working. Setup cannot find my harddrive, presumably because a SATA driver is missing. I have tried the supplied SATA driver from HP driver download page for my model, but they don't work. I've tried various others, still no luck.
The harddrive is found by BIOS. The harddrive has been working without a hitch for years, right up until I tried a re-install.
PS: I'm not using the HP recovery DVDs, since these install all sorts of unneccessary software I don't want. (Why do all major laptop producers add this crap?)

I have purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T430. This laptop came with pre-installed Windows 7 Pro. However I want to use Windows 8 which I have a recovery disc for.
I built in a SSD instead of the optical drive. So I don´t have a optical drive. On this SSD I want to run my OS.
With a software from Samsung (manufacturer of my SSD) I was able to copy the Windows7 OS on my SSD.
As I mentioned above I bought a laptop with installed windows 7 pro and a Windows 8 upgrade disc. Therefore I got the "Operating System Recovery Dis Windows 8 Pro. (OEM Activation 3.0 Required)".
The problem now is that I have an upgrade disc but no optical drive. So I created an image of the upgrade disc and with this image I have created a bootable USB stick with the following program:

When I boot my laptop using the bootable USB stick everything seems to be working until to the point where I have to accept the EULA.
So I chose a language, and clicked on "I accept the agreements".
When I want to click on "next" I got a error message "recovery failed".

How I can upgrade to Windows 8? Why the upgrade disc is not working?
I was installing Linux and by mistake I wiped out the entire disk inclusing the recovery partition with windows 8 installation stuff !! Do you know if it there is any way to get it back, downlading it from somewhere and installing ? I searched on the Lenovo website but didn't find any clue....
