I keep getting blue screens complaining about igdpmd64.sys x00000050. I noticed on the day that I suddenly started getting blue screens Windows installed a bunch of windows 7 x64 updates. Does the recent windows updates can cause this?
At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
i've frequantly had this problem , when i start my laptop ( hp pavilion 15n021se ) on the lock screen when i'm going to click to enter my password , just after moving mouse cruser i get the blue screen saying that the error is " invalid process attachment attempt "
i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .
i've installed the latest version of the driver (sp64225) , and it doesn't suitable for my windows so i want a previous version of the driver
Pavillion DV6-2155dx from 2010 working fine earlier today, then went to turn it back on and it generated a blank blue screen and will not go any further . . . no error message at all. Ran a "Start Up Test" which said that Memory Test passed, Smart Check passed, but Short DST failed.

I tried to install WINDOWS 7 32/64 Bit but i get blue screen in the end of installation.
I'm An Acer Aspire 6930G user and it has vista home premium installed as OS. Today When I was trying to install Windows Xp on it A blue Error Screen Appear in the beginning of windows installing...I tried with 3 different Xp cd's but still the same problem.

I have an Elitebook 8540w laptop. I wanted to upgrade RAM memory from 2x2GB to 2x4GB. I bought not a kit of 2x4GB as i wanted to, instead I bought two 4GB memory chips from HP.
After replacing the modules the laptop does not boot up.
What has been done:
- Bios Default Restore
My first question is: i realize it is better to buy a kit of 2 matched chips, but is it a must?
I am having a problem with my Pavilion dv6200
This is third time the same thing is happening to me. After i install some updates, display dimms, and background light became darker. When i restart computer, and enter BIOS, or if i am just looking at the screen before i log on to windows, backlight is normal.
my 12 month old Laptop Pavillion G6 (which has been the worst computer I have ever owned!) is stuck on an update. The screen has been showing the message "Keep your PC on until this is done... installing update 1 of 2" for 12 hours (overnight).
Just over 2 weeks ago it had a problem with connecting to WiFi - which also seemed to be related to Windows updates - I sorted that one out and it has been fine since then. Started an automatic update last night and now it is stuck.

It's been working fine and updating automatically periodically - until last night's Java 6 #13 followed by the windows update (on 5/13). Got the blue screen and oxo code (a general stop error ending in A which gave no clues) and subsequent hp repair files option. This worked the first time, then java updated again and I restarted it. But after the windows update it happened another half dozen times and the hp notebook could never repair itself.
I have windows 7 in my hp laptop its stop working only blue color screen is showing....

After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. What I need to do. Is this a result of updating Windows? How can I undo the update?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the HP- Pavilion g7 Notebook and have not had any problems until I was getting a Blue Screen of death after an update of Skype got on my computer. I had to do a system recovery several times until I found out this is a problem apparently caused by skype, now skype wants to update again and windows7 doesn't like it at all, the machine crashes again. Last resort, I downloaded an older verson of skype which works fine but in the long run doesn't solve the problem. If there is a fix what is it, I have not gotten any suggestions from skype, to get this resolved. The only thing I hear it might be related to some driver that has not been updated. What can I do?

I can load task manager and get to the internet. tried to get to safe mode at startup with f8 but several attempts were unsuccessful. I updated my graphics driver from AMD today and same black screen appears. I also restored sytem to an earlier date using the HP utility with same results - black screen after welcome page.

The problem is that, when i shutdown my laptop, it doesnt shutsdown, it turns off the screen, but not the processor, fan, touchpad, the light and fan movement is ON and it never shuts down. Then I have forcibly press n hold the Power button to shut it down !
It also has a delayed Startup issue! But Restart function just works fine..!
I don't graphics drivers installed on the system - its AMD ATI RADEON 6700M HD - no compatible drivers available !
I have tried to install XP Home on my Acer 6920g but with no success.
I made an XP disk with the sata drivers via Nlite which was recognised, installed the OS but on first boot the laptop gives me the BSOD but as it is so quick I am unable to get any error code. The laptop will not boot on safe mode either which makes me think there is a physical (hardware) issue that doesn't like XP.

I am having a bad blue-screen issue with my hp dv6-1245dx laptop. I am crashing to a blue screen at very random times, starting with one occurence a few months ago, followed by two months with no problems, then a few crashes in a row three weeks ago, followed by three weeks of good use. In the last three days the occurences are pretty much every 10 to 20 mintues, at random, and they require a few minutes of waiting before it will crank back up again. ( If I don't wait this short time, it will crank but it throws a black error screen saying "No operating system found" ) I fear it is some failing hardware issue, like the HD about to give out. I have run the Image Diag.exe from the first post on this forum, and have that log cab file available. I also have an image of the blue screen ( it is the same each time, the error is a STOP: 0x000000F4).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just recently removed vista and upgraded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. However got a Blue screen Error. After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.
My question is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work?

I have a new Lenovo Z50-75 with FreeDOS - I made a Windows 8.1 installation, and all went fine.
After installing the around 70 updates - at one point it reboots and I get a black screen, right after shortly seeing the Lenovo Logo ( entering BIOS works ).
It is not booting Windows at all - I can not enter Safe Mode therefore, and I do not get any cursor.
The behaviour is reproduceable, done this 2 times. Also when it hangs in the black screen, the van get reall busy, lound and the notebook gets hot.
I own a Probook 4740s. It came preinstalled with Windows 8 and HP security tools. Recently I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and in order to do this I had to uninstall HP security tools. I succeded uninstalling and updating Windows. After a day of usage the computer hanged. I refreshed it using HP recovery. As the OS version was old it updated itself after a day or two. The update went fine. After booting windows the next day It started configuring updates. Something went wrong and it failed with : "Failure configuring windows updates reverting changes". It hanged up and never finished. I refreshed again believing it didn't properly refresh. The whole thing happened again.
After refreshing again and then completlly reinstalling windows the problem persists. By this point I refreshed the computer 4 times and reinstalled Windows 1 time. I tried turning off all non-windows services and updating as per this forum : [URL] ... but it didn't work. It failed with:"Failure configuring windows changes. Reverting changes"...
