Pavillion DV6-2155dx from 2010 working fine earlier today, then went to turn it back on and it generated a blank blue screen and will not go any further . . . no error message at all. Ran a "Start Up Test" which said that Memory Test passed, Smart Check passed, but Short DST failed.
View 2 RepliesMy HP Pavilion G6 Notebook freezes at the HP startup and does not get passed that initial page and into windows. I tried pulling the battery out, resetting many time and ran a quick diagnosis. And after running a quick diagnosis it came back with the following error:

I have a HP pavilion G6 which worked fine for like half a year. Today i wanted to startup my laptop, but it seems to be stuck on a black screen (with my cursor appeared) after the HP loading screen. Sometimes at the startup it says "preparing automatic restore", but results after loading at the same black screen.I tried to solve this problem with the following things:
1. Hard reset (turn off everything, hold power button 30 seconds, turn on everything and startup etc.)
2. Replacing RAM. Someone at the forum said this worked, but it didn't.
3. Tried taking off all USB devices such as mouse, DC adapter etc. and started up but didn't work.
A month ago i tried doing a factory reset, but my laptop seemed to be stuck on the same black screen.
i've frequantly had this problem , when i start my laptop ( hp pavilion 15n021se ) on the lock screen when i'm going to click to enter my password , just after moving mouse cruser i get the blue screen saying that the error is " invalid process attachment attempt "
i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .
i've installed the latest version of the driver (sp64225) , and it doesn't suitable for my windows so i want a previous version of the driver
I have an HP Pavilion g4-2149se Notebook running Windows 7.For the past 2 weeks almost, whenever I start my computer, before getting the Windows welcome screen, I get a lingering blank screen with a cursor. Then, it'll finally get to the welcome screen, but before it loads my desktop, I'll get another lingering blank screen with a cursor. Honestly, I'm grateful that my computer is still starting up at all... But is there any way to fix the lingering blank screens? It's making me nervous.I've looked around the web for a solution for days, and anything I could find I've tried, but nothing has worked. I uninstalled all recent Windows updates, hoping one of them had went wrong, but no luck I scanned for virus' and malware and found nothing. I've only downloaded one program since I noticed the problem began (4K Video Downloader), though the program doesn't seem to be a problem.

At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
The product name is HP 2000 notebook PC and the operating system is Windows 8. I had automatic updates installed and after the laptop restarted the login screen was frozen. I could type my pin code in but nothing happened after that. I tried ctrl+alt+del and other buttons but nothing happened. I kept restarting my computer but it still did the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe laptop was running hot. I cleaned the dust from the fan area. The battery is bad. I checked the volts on the charger which was 43v - bought a new charger that's 18.5 v. I wiped the ram and started with one and moved to different positions. I now have a black screen with the cap lock key blinking blue non-stop and the f12 key led light is constantly on orange. What I should try next and what does the cap lock led blinking without stopping means - is that a code or have a significance?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion dv9500 notebook and yesterday after more than two years of pretty much running smoothly it wouldn't boot. First it actually booted into windows but the whole desktop screen was frozen with mouse cursor. So I turned it off, turned it back on and it booted into blue screen and restarted itself. After couple of tries I booted into safe mode which was running fine.
I wasn't sure what the problem was but I was thinking it must be software related, so I loaded an image of my system which I've used before and knew was ok. But even after putting a brand new OS it was doing the same thing.
One time I was actually able to boot into normal mode so I thought maybe the issue got resolved magically. But, I have my external monitor plugged in and even when in normal mode the signal wouldn't go through, so I had to use my laptop monitor. I kept trying to switch the signal and even though it was showing the icon like it's transferring nothing happened. So I checked my video card properties and the card all of the sudden had no drivers and was basically unrecognized by the OS.
I've had my MBP since 1 week now, and I've been using it a lot. At first, the startup time was around 35 seconds, but recently I have noticed that the blue screen at the end of the startup process is staying for much longer than it should (around 8 seconds).
I have tried:
-Repairing Disk with the Disk Utility and the Leopard DVD
-Repairing Permissions
-Defragmenting (3rd party software)
-Deleting the ApplicationEnhancement.bundle file using [command-S]
-Deleting preference files of uninstalled programs.
But nothing worked. The blue screen still lasts 8 seconds and the pointer appears at the top left corner. The startup time is now 50 seconds, which is about the same as Windows and I don't want that.
My Pavilion g6 gave the following message when I ran a start-up test: Hard Disk Short DST: Failed Failure ID: OLM9XO-6AQ766-MFPXOK-60TWO3

Last night it was working perfectly and then when I tried to turn the computer on, it loaded and went to the startup screen with the microsoft logo and from there it got stuck. I tried to hit F11 and do a diagnostic test but when it was finished it told me the computer was not able to restart because of memory or something like that. I've also tried to take the battery out, but that didn't work either.

I have also tried draining the battery and recharging then rebooting but nothing happened. It is completely unresponsive. It used to work just fine, just last night I've been playing games and it was working smoothly. But when I woke up and booted up my laptop, nothing was working. By the way, what's the small button underneath the laptop, I think it is the master reset button, because my brother was thinking of pressing it.

I am crashing to a blue screen at very random times, starting with one occurence a few months ago, followed by two months with no problems, then a few crashes in a row three weeks ago, followed by three weeks of good use. In the last three days the occurences are pretty much every 10 to 20 mintues, at random, and they require a few minutes of waiting before it will crank back up again. ( If I don't wait this short time, it will crank but it throws a black error screen saying "No operating system found" ) I fear it is some failing hardware issue, like the HD about to give out. I have run the Image Diag.exe from the first post on this forum, and have that log cab file available. I also have an image of the blue screen ( it is the same each time, the error is a STOP: 0x000000F4).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had recently installed Windows 7 again on my Hard Drive and then i downloaded all the drivers for my Laptop from HP website. My Laptop pc is HP Pavilion DV6 -2155dx Entertainment. I have installed all the drivers but while installing Realtek Ethernert Controller Driver I found an error it was stating that " The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is Enabled Please Plug the Cable". And also while installing Atheros Drivers I found this error " The Device may not be present or could have been ejected / unplugged from the system.
Insert or Reinsert Now" I have also installed HP Wireless Assistant After installation and Rebooting The wireless assistant shows that wifi is disabled (orange light on the keyboard) but when i try to enable it, it doesnt turn blue but it states that Wireless Adapter is disabled by Device Manager. I also have checked the boot menu or bios and found that for wifi it was already enabled. In Device Manager i can find the device with yellow colored signal. I am not able to understand what exactly the error is as in Device manager it is showing the device and while installing the drivers it is showing it is ejected / unplugged".
I've adjusted the custom on zoom to 100; I can get back to 199 by ctrl0; but some thing is interfering with the size of my script and even on email; it also enlarges photos on websites &email. I'm fed up with this whole notebook, windows 8 stuff. It even changes custom when it enlarges.
