HP Compaq Presario CQ71 Lockups :: Loading Window Files Then Just Hangs On Blue Screen

i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .
i've installed the latest version of the driver (sp64225) , and it doesn't suitable for my windows so i want a previous version of the driver
HP Pavilion 15-n268sa Lockups :: CPU Temps Over 90 Just With Windows 8.1 Running?
Aug 27, 2014I have had this laptop 2 days and today its doing all sorts of strange things. Several times it has gone black screen (not shutdown, just like it had the battery yanked out and lost power). I had one message that there was a problem and windows had to shutdown and gave an error like 0xa0000001 or something.
But even before i had this i was worried. Some of the first things i did was install some benchmark programs. speccy, cpuid, gpu-z. cpuid doesn't show the temps, but speccy showed the cpu cores all running at 80-90 just with windows sitting doing nothing. it highlights anything over 80 as red. gpu-z shows the dual graphics with similar but about 5 degrees lower temps and shows the amd radeon hd 8670M card as far lower temps. a fan inside seems to be on and when temps get above 95 seems to go into high gear. but i have seen speccy showing temps of 106 C!
i think this is what is causing the laptop to blackout and restart; temps going over 105 for any time at all. in short it runs windows, with occasionally even with psu plugged in dimming of the laptop screen. but try and run something, such as an internet connection, plugging anything into usb ports that is powered from the laptop, or browsing the web - not even watching video or streaming just google search! - and the temps jump up to mid 90s or higher.

Dec 13, 2014Pavillion DV6-2155dx from 2010 working fine earlier today, then went to turn it back on and it generated a blank blue screen and will not go any further . . . no error message at all. Ran a "Start Up Test" which said that Memory Test passed, Smart Check passed, but Short DST failed.

Oct 12, 2014I hit enter eight times, and I get a choice of entering a password or continuing, when I continue I can go on to windows. If I choose enter a password I get a blue window with a KEY. I can take the eight digit number key, and enter it in a program on another computer, 'allservice.ro/acer' which gives me the password. I enter the password into my laptop (acer aspire E1-531-2438) and it leaves the blue window, and I can continue either with the HDD loading windows 7, or I can load a cdrom or dvd.
This is great. But if I reboot, and hit F2, I enter the BIOS, and choose security, and I see that the HDD password is still set. If I hit enter, I can enter the HDD password, but when I enter the one I just used, it tells me it is invalid.
I have also tried to kill the power, and startup again going into BIOS, but the HDD password I just used is still invalid.

May 9, 2010Few weeks ago I brought the WD blue 640GB, and lately swapped it out and put the old Hard drive back in because the WD was making too much noises. AFter I putting the old one back in here, the OS X starts running at the temperature of 56-58 degree C. The CPU is also running something such that it's used percentage is jumping around 10% and 20 % constantly. I start using it right now, and the upper left corner is getting warmer without running any significant job.

I am crashing to a blue screen at very random times, starting with one occurence a few months ago, followed by two months with no problems, then a few crashes in a row three weeks ago, followed by three weeks of good use. In the last three days the occurences are pretty much every 10 to 20 mintues, at random, and they require a few minutes of waiting before it will crank back up again. The next day it went slower , in fact in minecraft the first day it was running on 120fps and on the next day about 70 - 60.
also , the laptop kept on getting blue screens and black screens and sometimes didnt turn on.
I still play games like League of Legends and Minecraft with friends and now the fps suddenly dropped . in minecraft 70 - 60 to 20 - 30 and in league of legends constant lag when someone uses a skill / attacks.
Whenever i go to sleep i just close my laptop , i dont shut it down and also i run at least 6 hours a day. Ive also heard that it might be the cooling fan that has dust in it, however im not sure. I want it to run smooth again . Ive reseted to factory setting twice and its still running slow.

Jan 6, 2009I am replacing the installed Seagate Momentus 160 gb 5400 SATA disk with a Seagate Momentus 320gb 7200rpm SATA hard disk as I need the extra space to hold my growing itunes collection and feel the extra speed would also be welcome.
I have the original Dell installation disks (Operating System, drivers etc), the installation disks for the subsequently installed software (other than the freebies including iTunes etc available on the net) and have backed up all my critical data to an external hard drive using the vista backup facility for subsequent restoration once all the software has been installed.
I will of course keep the 160 gb drive available with all it's data intact as a secondary safeguard until I have satisfactorily completed the installation and testing of the new disk.

600 MB Healthy (Recovery Partition)
300 MB Healthy (EFI System Partition)
449 GB Healthy (Boot, Page etc...)
15.5 GB Healthy (Recovery Partition)
Given I'm supposed to be running OEM Windows 8.1 shouldn't 1 of the first 2 partitions say OEM?
If that is so I know what I've done and it will probably require a recovery disk to set things straight (i.e. recover the original Acer version of Windows 8.1). This is a follow-on from a previous post where I foolishly installed an evaluation copy of Windows 10 instead of running it using virtual software (which is what I usually do with these things) - I can't remember for sure but it's likely I installed it by formatting the whole disk and probably wiping the OEM partition.
I do have a system image taken a few days before I installed W10 but suspect the OEM wasn't included...which is what is displayed above after I reloaded it.

Jan 16, 2010I couldn't play MW2 reliably on my notebook before because it only got about 1600 3D06 score and around 20FPS, but even with the integrated in the Mac it gets about 2100. I've seen a lot of videos on Youtube playing this game at 960x600 I think? It looks great. While I have a desktop at home, I loved my old notebook because I could game without bringing the rig (I play WoW mostly...).
I suppose I kind of have the mentality that portable gaming is allowed to suffer graphically -- so I don't mind too much. Anyways, the videos on Youtube seem to have textures on high and render fewer shadows and run at 960x600 (which is very close to the 360 ^_^) but the game seems to run at about 30 FPS! This is great for a Notebook, and I'm sure I will enjoy it.
Does anyone have any testimonials? I'm putting a lot of weight into the look of the MBP vs. the Asus UL series or the phasing Sony SR, both of which get about 3500-3800 3d06. Long term gaming ability doesn't need to be available because I feel the PC gaming market is really plateauing graphically to stay competitive w/ consoles.
